The detection of foreign object intrusion is crucial for ensuring the safety of railway operations.To address challenges such as low efficiency,suboptimal detection accuracy,and slow detection speed inherent in conventional comprehensive video monitoring systems for railways,a railway foreign object intrusion recognition and detection system is conceived and implemented using edge computing and deep learning technologies.In a bid to raise detection accuracy,the convolutional block attention module(CBAM),including spatial and channel attention modules,is seamlessly integrated into the YOLOv5 model,giving rise to the CBAM-YOLOv5 model.Furthermore,the distance intersection-over-union_non-maximum suppression(DIo U_NMS)algorithm is employed in lieu of the weighted nonmaximum suppression algorithm,resulting in improved detection performance for intrusive targets.To accelerate detection speed,the model undergoes pruning based on the batch normalization(BN)layer,and Tensor RT inference acceleration techniques are employed,culminating in the successful deployment of the algorithm on edge devices.The CBAM-YOLOv5 model exhibits a notable 2.1%enhancement in detection accuracy when evaluated on a selfconstructed railway dataset,achieving 95.0%for mean average precision(m AP).Furthermore,the inference speed on edge devices attains a commendable 15 frame/s. 展开更多

Road extraction based on deep learning is one of hot spots of semantic segmentation in the past decade.In this work,we proposed a framework based on codec network for automatic road extraction from remote sensing images.Firstly,a pre-trained ResNet34 was migrated to U-Net and its encoding structure was replaced to deepen the number of network layers,which reduces the error rate of road segmentation and the loss of details.Secondly,dilated convolution was used to connect the encoder and the decoder of network to expand the receptive field and retain more low-dimensional information of the image.Afterwards,the channel attention mechanism was used to select the information of the feature image obtained by up-sampling of the encoder,the weights of target features were optimized to enhance the features of target region and suppress the features of background and noise regions,and thus the feature extraction effect of the remote sensing image with complex background was optimized.Finally,an adaptive sigmoid loss function was proposed,which optimizes the imbalance between the road and the background,and makes the model reach the optimal solution.Experimental results show that compared with several semantic segmentation networks,the proposed method can greatly reduce the error rate of road segmentation and effectively improve the accuracy of road extraction from remote sensing images. 展开更多

The classification of infrasound events has considerable importance in improving the capability to identify the types of natural disasters.The traditional infrasound classification mainly relies on machine learning algorithms after artificial feature extraction.However,guaranteeing the effectiveness of the extracted features is difficult.The current trend focuses on using a convolution neural network to automatically extract features for classification.This method can be used to extract signal spatial features automatically through a convolution kernel;however,infrasound signals contain not only spatial information but also temporal information when used as a time series.These extracted temporal features are also crucial.If only a convolution neural network is used,then the time dependence of the infrasound sequence will be missed.Using long short-term memory networks can compensate for the missing time-series features but induces spatial feature information loss of the infrasound signal.A multiscale squeeze excitation–convolution neural network–bidirectional long short-term memory network infrasound event classification fusion model is proposed in this study to address these problems.This model automatically extracted temporal and spatial features,adaptively selected features,and also realized the fusion of the two types of features.Experimental results showed that the classification accuracy of the model was more than 98%,thus verifying the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed model. 展开更多

Although ammonium dinitramide(ADN)has been targeted as a potential green monopropellant in future space vehicles,its application potential in Micro-electrical–Mechanical System(MEMS)thrusters or microthrusters has been seldom reported in open literature.In this paper,electrolytic decomposition of Ammonium Dinitramide(ADN)-based liquid monopropellant FLP-103 was carried out in an open chamber and MEMS thrusters were fabricated from poly-dimethylsiloxane(PDMS)to characterize the power consumption.Two thrust measurement methods were employed to investigate the electrolytic decomposition of FLP-103 in MEMS microthrusters.The results show that the monopropellant can be successfully ignited at room temperature through 80 V,0.1 A(8 W)using copper wire as electrodes.In the current thruster design,low thrust was obtained at FLP-103 flowrate of 40μl·min^(-1)but it generated the highest specific impulse,Isp,among all the flowrates tested.The experiments successfully demonstrated the potential application of electrolytic decomposition of FLP-103 in MEMS thrusters. 展开更多

In order to study the evacuation behavior of miners during accidents,we analyzed the rational layout of a safe chamber,and improved evacuation efficiency.A visual model of evacuation was developed and used to simulate the evacuation process of mines,given their special underground environments.In our simulation,the working faces of a coal mine and nearby tunnels were divided into 0.5 m×0.5 m grids to reflect the location of occupants and obstacles.Based on a "flow potential of the occupant",we determined the direction of movement and routes of occupants.In the model,evacuation speed changed as a function of crowd density,with an average speed of 1.30 m/s.The model also takes into account detection time of the disaster and the personnel response time.Evacuation time,exit flow rate and evacuation path were obtained by simulation.The results indicate that using simulation technology can present a more visual evacuation process and show the behavior of occupants.Our establishment of a mine safety evacuation system has merit as reference value. 展开更多

Eliminating hazards in systems and decreasing risks are their essential purposes with help of hazard identification, risk evaluation and management. By pre-control on major hazards, fatal accidents are avoided, stuffs' safety and healthy are protected, levels of safe management are enhanced, and perpetual systems are built up finally. However, choosing the proper identification and evaluation is a problem all along. Based on specific condition in Jiangou Coal Mine, method of LEC was applied for hazard identification and evaluation in the pre-blasting process within horizontal section top-coal mechanized caving of steep seams. And control measures to of each hazard were put forward. The identification method combining qualitative and quantitative analysis. So, it is practical and operable for the method to develop the given scientific research and has a distinctive impact on high efficiency and safety products for pre-blasting in horizontal section top-coal mechanized caving of steep seams. 展开更多

Veracity of solution means how the results are consistent with the reality. By researching of both aspects, it rises many unanswered questions. It is concerned about verification and validation of risk assessment results. By risk assessment for the environment it is possible to meet wide variety of more or less good soluble problems. It exists simple problems based on risk assessment of common traffic accidents connected with service charge outflow. On the other site, it exists complex problems of risk assessment connected with dangerous goods transport by traffic or pipelines. By simple problems solving there are not many questions about risk assessment veracity. It is possible to determine traffic accidents frequencies and service charge outflows consequences on the basis of examined events in transportation with great veracity. By complex problems the situation is quite different. The frequencies of large accidents are very low but the consequences for the environment may be large. Both are encumbered by large level of uncertainty. That is why the question is rising. To what degree, it is in these cases correct to make decision based on risk assessment. 展开更多

This study has a descriptive nature. It is based on data obtained from archives including the treatment database of the Emergency Center. The period January 2009 to December 2012 has been considered for this research. The aim of this study is to assess the prevalence of fatal road traffic accidents in Pristine, Kosovo, and describe their determinants. The number of injured in traffic accidents who have sought emergency medical assistance in the Emergency Center from January 2009 to December 2012 is increasing significantly. It is concluded that except reasons mentioned above and among others, there also are the following factors: enormous increase of number of persons equipped with driving license, driving speeds above limits which are considered to be the primary cause of the road traffic accidents. These findings can serve as a basis for health care professionals and policymakers to create preventive measures for traffic accidents. 展开更多

My paper aims to discuss the approach between the mystic's experience and the experiment of the scientist. The mystic experience is closer to what is proper to the scientific experiment: both are, finally, ways of tryout. This also means that both are ways to come closer to a deeper understanding of Reality. Raising the problem of the relation between religion and science requires a series of precautions, especially related to the underlying meanings of what we call "religion" or "science". What is meant by religion and religious? The terms are too vague, and on the other hand, the differences among religions are so important that it is almost impossible to use the term religion without an abstract meaning. Even the overall invocation of Christianity is improper, as the report of Eastern Christianity to the Western, one reveals different perspectives on some issues that determine the relationship with science. There must be also taken into account the history of the religious doctrines after Enlightenment, as they underwent secular influences that sometimes left tracks in their discourse, the most aggressive factor being the ideological one. And when speaking about the possibility of religion getting open to science it is necessary to specify what type of religious discourse is concerned. Since a generic report of religion to science is slippery, we should rather count on the identification of those types of religious experience and of those religious horizons that can offer a real openness to science. These statements are also true for science: for such a dialogue, there is need of identifying those aspects of science that are not contaminated by ideology or by assumptions alien to its experimental nature. 展开更多

Objective: We investigated the relationship between the expression of Caspase-3, cell proliferation and apoptosis in gastric cancer and their precancerous lesions, to explore the tumorigenesis of the stomach mucosa. Methods: Caspase- 3 expression in 13 normal gastric mucosa, 6 chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG), 31 intestinal metaplasia (IM), 114 dysplasia (DYS) and 20 gastric carcinomas were investigated immunohistochemically. Cell proliferation was evaluated with anti-Ki-67 immunostaining and apoptosis was evaluated using DNA fragmentation in situ by TdT-mediated dUTP biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) method. Results: Caspase-3 mild-moderately positive expression was observed in most of normal superficial epithelia, its positively polar distribution in normal mucosa, CAG, IM, DYS and gastric carcinomas changed as seen in TU- NEL, and so did the positive rate. Caspase-3 protein expression showed significantly positive correlation with the number of apoptotic cells labeled with TUNEL (correlation coefficient r = 0,94; P 〈 0101). Ki-67 expression showed a negative but not significant correlation trend with Caspase-3 (correlation coefficient r = -0.23; P 〉 0.05). Conclusion: Caspase-3 protein expression was up-regulated from CAG to IM and mild-moderate atypical dysplasia, but down-regulated in severe dysplasia and gastric carcinoma, indicating that inactivity or reduced expression of Caspase-3 is closely correlated with carcinogenesis of the stomach mucosa. 展开更多

"Paradise Garden" concept has given rise to the application of several spiritual and aesthetic meaning that helped raise the efficiency of the therapeutic environment. The hypothesis revolves around the idea that the technological development increased the interest in the functional side rather than the aesthetic side in the current therapeutic buildings. This had a negative effect on the efficiency of the functional environment and thus exceeded the negative impact on the satisfaction and comfort of the building users. This hypothesis has been tested through two types of studies: first, analytical study of four hospitals by analyzing the horizontal projections to measure the effects of the natural lighting and ventilation; second, questionnaires were distributed to both the patients and the staff in the therapeutic buildings to measure the therapeutic environment efficiency and the extent of satisfaction of users of the building. It was concluded that the natural lighting and ventilation drive up healing rate in the therapeutic environment. The correctness of this idea is revealed by the conclusion that the technological advances in the medical field helped to raise the level of functional performance and thus it replaced a large part of the role of the natural lighting and ventilation. 展开更多
