This model considered the effect of non-drag forces and took the eddy-bubble interaction time as the refreshing time scale of turbulent fluctuations.The relationship between the crossing-eddy time and the eddy lifetime was discussed,and the predicted distributions of radial,axial velocities of bubbles and gas holdup were also given. Compared with eddy lifetime(EL)model,the EBI model gives somewhat smaller axial velocity in the upper circulation region and larger velocity in the lower circulation region,causing that fewer bubbles reach the lower circulation region and gas holdup becomes higher in the upper circulation region.The predicted gas holdup by the EBI model approaches closer to the experimental data in the discharge stream region.展开更多

The traffic flow system is taken in this paper as an illustration to study this question. First, the Lempel-Ziv algorithm is introduced for accurate depiction of the complexity degree of the traffic flow system. We gain 3 actual sequences and 20s period traffic flow sequences on the basis of the measure of the traffic flow data; we gain 5 traffic flow sequences whose periods are between 1-5min by simulating the traffic flow system. By calculating the complicacy of the 11 sequences, we obtain two hypothesis: the complicacies of the same system are different under different time scalings; negative correlation exists between the complicacy and the time scaling of the system.展开更多

Results showed that the OVM including the delay is not physically sensitive to the speed relaxation times. A modified car-following model is proposed to overcome the deficiency. Analyses of the linear stability of the modified model were conducted. It is shown that coexisting flows appear if the initial homogeneous headway of the traffic flow is between critical values. The code...A three-dimensional, nineteen-velocity(D3Q19) Lattice Boltzmann Method(LBM) model was developed to simulate the fluid flow of a laminar square jet in cross flows based on the single relaxation time algorithm. The code was validated by the mathematic solution of the Poiseuille flow in a square channel, and was further validated with a previous well studied empirical correlation for the central trajectory of a jet in cross flows. The developed LBM model was found to be able to capture the dominant vortex, i.e. the Counter-rotating Vortex Pair(CVP) and the upright wake vortex. Results show that the incoming fluid in the cross flow channel was entrained into the leeside of the jet fluid, which contributes to the blending of the jet. That the spread width of the transverse jet decreases with the velocity ratio. A layer-organized entrainment pattern was found indicating that the incoming fluid at the lower position is firstly entrained into the leeside of the jet, and followed by the incoming fluid at the upper position.展开更多

In the proposed design, SU only accesses available channels which can meet the traffic demand. To achieve this, the expected transmission time (E3W) of the SU is calcu- lated first based on the delivery ratio. Then, the channel idle time is estimated based on the activity of primary users (PUs). Therefore, available channels with estimated idle time longer than ETr could be chosen. With high probability, the SU can finish transmission on these channels without disruption, thereby satisfying the traffic load demand of the SU. Finally, our method is extended to the multi-channel scenario where each SU can access multiple channels simultaneously. Performance analysis shows that our method satisfies the requirement of SUs while effectively improving the throughput.展开更多

Regarding the addressed scenario, when the propagation link between HAPS and train is blocked by obstacles, a three-dimensional (3-D) geometrical single cylinder spatial-temporal channel model is presented, in which closed form, mathematically tractable space-time correlation functions are obtained. It shows that the correlation functions determined by the 3-D model are of significant difference with those of the conventional 2-D model. Based on the analysis model, the paper derives a realized simulation model using sum-of-sinusoids approach, and applies method of equal areas (MEA) and modified method of equal areas (MMEA) to determine the model parameters. The fitting performance of the simulation model with the analysis one is evaluated by two means-square error (MSE) performance criteria. Finally, numerical simulation results verify the mathematical analysis conclusion, when N ≥21, simulation model has an excellent fitness with the analysis one.展开更多

This paper proposes a DC-DC converter using variable on-time and variable switching frequency control enhanced constant ripple current control and reduced magnetic components. The proposed converter is realized by making the turn-offtime proportional to the on-time of the converter, according to the input and output voltage, thereby reducing the corresponding current ripple on output voltage in the continuous conduction mode. A Buck DC-DC converter using the proposed control strategy is analyzed in detail, along with some experimental results to show the performance and effectiveness of this converter.展开更多
