Product angular distribut...The dynamics of the Cl+SiH4 reaction has been studied using the universal crossed molecular beam method. Angular resolved time-of-flight spectra have been measured for the channel SiH3Cl+H. Product angular distributions as well as energy distributions in the center-ofmass frame were determined for the channel. Experimental results show that the SiH3Cl product is mainly backward scattered relative to the Cl atom beam direction, suggesting that the channel takes place via a typical SN2 type reaction mechanism.展开更多

The Demoiselle was very successful in flying and, became very popular and its development continued as SD20, SD21 and SD22 (his last airplane). This work addresses the problem of self-excited vibration,which degrades the stability of the levitation control,decreases the ride comfort,and restricts the construction cost of maglev system.Firstly,a minimum model ...This work addresses the problem of self-excited vibration,which degrades the stability of the levitation control,decreases the ride comfort,and restricts the construction cost of maglev system.Firstly,a minimum model containing a flexible bridge and a single levitation unit is presented.Based on the simplified model,the principle underlying the self-excited vibration is explored.After investigations about the energy transmission between the levitation system and bridge,it is concluded that the increment of modal damping can dissipate the accumulated energy by the bridge and the self-excited vibration may be avoided.To enlarge the equivalent modal damping of bridge,the sky-hooked damper is adopted.Furthermore,to avoid the hardware addition of real sky-hooked damper,considering the fact that the electromagnet itself is an excellent actuator that is capable of providing sufficiently fast and large force acting on the bridge to emulate the influence of the real sky-hooked damper,the technique of the virtual sky-hooked damper is proposed.The principle underlying the virtual sky-hooked damper by electromagnet is explored and the vertical velocity of bridge is estimated.Finally,numerical and experimental results illustrating the stability improvement of the vehicle-bridge interaction system are provided.展开更多

By using a theoretical tube model combined with the application of the Maximum Entropy Production Principle (MaxEPP) ...The mainstream depth of a return flow can be viewed as an intrinsic depth of horizontal convection. By using a theoretical tube model combined with the application of the Maximum Entropy Production Principle (MaxEPP) in thermodynamics, the following statements can be made. Under fixed external forcing, the system chooses a particular depth as the mainstream depth of its return flow, the depth of which not only satisfies the maximum circulation rate and the maximum heat transport, but also satisfies the maximum entropy production rate. A comparison between this intrinsic depth and the container height leads to the definition of a relative partial and full-penetration pattern of the circulation. Moreover, this intrinsic depth is found to vary with the external forcing; the regulation of this variation is related to the Modified Rayleigh number.展开更多
