Room-temperature mechanical properties of Cu50Zr40Ti10-xNix(0≤x≤4,mole fraction,%) bulk metallic glasses (BMG) with aspect ratios in the range of 1:1-2.5:1 and loading rates in the range of1×10^-5-1×10^-2s^-1were systematically investigated by room-temperatureuniaxialcompression test.In the condition of an aspect ratio of 1:1, the superplasticity can be clearly observed for Cu50Zr40Ti10BMG when the loading rate is1×10^-4s^-1, while for Cu50Zr40Ti10-xNix(x=1-3, mole fraction, %) BMGs when the loading rate is1×10^-2s^-1. The plastic strain (εp), yielding strength (σy) and fracture strength (σf) of the studied Cu-based BMGs significantly depend on the aspect ratio and the loading rate. In addition, theσyof the studied Cu-based BMGs with an aspect ratio of 1:1 is close to the σfof those with the other aspect ratios when the loading rate is1×10^-2s^-1. At present, associated flow rule of traditional plastic theory is adopted in the slip line field theory and upper bound method of geotechnical materials. So the stress characteristic line conforms to the velocity line. It is proved that geotechnical materials do not abide by the associated flow rule. It is impossible for the stress characteristic line to conform to the velocity line. Generalized plastic mechanics theoretically proved that plastic potential surface intersects the Mohr-Coulomb yield surface with an angle, so that the velocity line must be studied by non-associated flow rule. According to limit analysis theory, the theory of slip line field is put forward in this paper, and then the ultimate beating capacity of strip footing is obtained based on the associated flow rule and the non-associated flow nile individually. These two results are identical since the ultimate bearing capacity is independent of flow role. On the contrary, the velocity fields of associated and non-associated flow rules are different which shows the velocity field based on the associat- ed flow rule is incorrect. 展开更多

The subsequent numerical analysis found that in a small scope longitudinal and transverse wave could be considered as homogeneously propagating when faultages and joints were not taken into account. The existence of lane hindered the wave's propagation, and it made the velocity gradient change in a local vicinity area. Therefore velocity varied in different direction. 展开更多

Objective: To observe osteogenetic rate of alveolar bone on the tension side in orthodontic tooth movement through distraction osteogenesis of the periodental ligament quantificationally. Methods: The experiment was carried in 6 dogs. The left side of jaws of each one was set as test or control side, and the other side was control or test side. On the control side, the first premorlar was moved by traditional method on the test side. A self-made distraction device was used on the test side. The newly formed alveolar bone on the tension side of moved tooth was labeled by serial tetracycline fluorochrome. Sections were observed by fluorescence microscope and pictured. Newly formed bone was measured by computer image analysis. Results: The quantity of newly formed bone was significantly different between the two methods. Newly formed bone in rapid tooth movement by distraction osteogenesis of the periodental ligament was more than that in traditional method. Conclusion: The distraction through periodental ligament could induce more rapid bone formation and excite higher osteogenetic activity than traditional method. 展开更多

This work focuses on the uniqueness of rate-dependency, creep and stress relaxation behaviors for soft clays under one-dimensional condition. An elasto-viscoplastic model is briefly introduced based on the rate-dependency of preconsolidation pressure. By comparing the rate-dependency formulation with the creep based formulation, the relationship between rate-dependency and creep behaviors is firstly described. The rate-dependency based formulation is then extended to derive an analytical solution for the stress relaxation behavior with defining a stress relaxation coefficient. Based on this, the relationship between the rate-dependency coefficient and the stress relaxation coefficient is derived. Therefore, the uniqueness between behaviors of rate-dependency, creep and stress relaxation with their key parameters is obtained. The uniqueness is finally validated by comparing the simulated rate-dependency of preconsolidation pressure, the estimated values of secondary compression coefficient and simulations of stress relaxation tests with test results on both reconstituted Illite and Berthierville clay. 展开更多

An approach employing ultrasound in MIM was proposed. The approach was extensively studied through experiments with a home-made experimental ultrasonic plastification device. The results of the experiments show that polymer ultrasonic plastification speed increases with ultrasonic supply voltage and plastification pressure. When the ultrasonic supply voltage is 200 V and the plastification pressure is 2.0 MPa, the polymer ultrasonic plastification speed reaches the maximum value of 0.111 1 g/s. The results also indicate that the ultrasonic cavitation effect is the most significant effect of all the three effects during polymer ultrasonic plastification process. 展开更多

The traction behavior of space lubricating oil No. 4116 was measured and analyzed at various oil inlet temperatures below 0 ℃ and various rolling speeds under normal loads by a test rig simulating the operating conditions of space bearings. A traction coefficient calculation model was presented. The rheological property and rheological parameters of the lubricant at a low oil inlet temperature were analyzed based on the Tevaarwerk-Johnson model. The results showed that the lubricating oil No. 4116 was sensitive to the rolling speed and had lower sensitivity to the normal load. This lubricating oil is more suitable for applications under high speed when it is used below 0 ℃. It behaves as an elastic-plastic fluid operating below 0 ℃. Both the average limiting shear stress and the average elastic shear modulus have a negative correlation with the rolling speed and oil inlet temperature and have a positive correlation with the normal load. 展开更多

The endochronic equations proposed by Valanis (1980) were extended to a finite deformation range. Jaumanns rate, Fus rate and Wus rate were incorporated into the endochronic equations to analyze simple shear finite deformation. Incremental equations and numerical solutions are deduced for three endochronic objective models. The results show that an oscillatory shear stress response to a monotonically increasing shear strain occurs when the Jaumanns rate objective model is employed for endochronic materials. The oscillatory response is dependent on the adopted objective rate. Compared with the Jaumanns rate, the Fus rate and the Wus rate satisfy the restrictions to elastic-plastic constitutive relations and are in agreement with the experimental results. 展开更多
