Microbial fuel cell(MFC)is a kind of promising clean power supply energy equipment,but serious nonlinearities and disturbances exist when the MFC runs,and it is an important topic to guarantee that the output voltage ...Microbial fuel cell(MFC)is a kind of promising clean power supply energy equipment,but serious nonlinearities and disturbances exist when the MFC runs,and it is an important topic to guarantee that the output voltage reaches the setting value quickly and smoothly.Regulating the feeding flow is an effective way to achieve this goal,and especially,the satisfactory results can be achieved by regulating anode feeding flow.In this work,a feedforward fuzzy logic PID algorithm is proposed.The fuzzy logic system is introduced to deal with the non-linear dynamics of MFC,and corresponding PID parameters are calculated according to defuzzification.The magnitude value of the current density is used to simulate the value of the external load.The simulation results indicate that the MFC output voltage can track the setting value quickly and smoothly with the proposed feedforward fuzzy logic PID algorithm.The proposed algorithm is more efficient and robust with respect to anti-disturbance performance and tracking accuracy than other three control methods.展开更多
Power control is of paramount importance in combating the near-far problem and co-channel interference in a CDMA cellular system. Due to fast fading and ambient interference in a wireless channel, conventional fixed-s...Power control is of paramount importance in combating the near-far problem and co-channel interference in a CDMA cellular system. Due to fast fading and ambient interference in a wireless channel, conventional fixed-step power control schemes have difficulty in compensating for the fast fading channel dynamically and in a timely manner. To acquire flexible power regulation in order to maintain required transmission capacity under the given transmission quality requirement, we propose a hybrid power control scheme which makes full use of the simple fuzzy inference rule refined by an operator in the fuzzy control and prediction property from related previous results in Generalized Prediction Control (GPC). In implementation of this strategy, we classify the fading zone into three levels according to the signal-to-noise-rate (SNR) requirement. In each level the power compensation amount varies with fading gradient and the compensation scheme varies as well. The digital results show that adoption of the fuzzy-GPC power regulation scheme has acquired a reasonable performance improvement when compared with fixed-step and fuzzy schemes. According to theoretic analysis and simulation results, we can conclude that under a variational transmission environment, a flexible power regulation scheme such as fuzzy-GPC is easy to adapt to the environment and thus overcomes the near-far effect and multi-access interference effectively.展开更多

On one hand, it summarizes the viewpoints of vagueness proposed by numerous scholars, displaying the function of such expressions, stressing the affirmative role; on the other hand, it launches the term into the Chinese first philosophy Daoism, revealing the links of these two good brothers. Then, the paper argues about the insights of the logics put forward by the Chinese and the Western professionals, drawing on the conclusion that the Daoism is concerned with the Dao of vagueness. It is a fuzzy set as well as logics of dialectics with reversion reasoning. The two high context terms resemble the cultures of the East and West. The integration can contribute to the success in business communication. No universal way can guide the business interaction; our heart and soul can soften all the discrepancy and conflict. Harmony can be achieved through a variety of Daoes, each cultural group bearing their own vagueness, silence, rhetoric, and reasoning. The actual state of affairs of Chinese social organizations and the latest theoretical findings on the subject indicate that independence and autonomy are concepts that are interrelated but not fundamentally interchan...The actual state of affairs of Chinese social organizations and the latest theoretical findings on the subject indicate that independence and autonomy are concepts that are interrelated but not fundamentally interchangeable; their actual organizational relationship is complex and varied. Exploration of the relationship between the two concepts is a necessary step in the construction and improvement of a rule-based interpretation of the characteristics of Chinese social organizations. Combining resource dependence theory with the institutional logics perspective enables us to analyze the multiple mechanisms influencing the relationship between independence and autonomy at the organizational level and to test for these mechanisms using a mixed methods research design. Our empirical findings indicate that social organizations gain greater autonomy when they have greater independence from government resources and when they strongly identify, structurally and behaviorally, with classical third sector theory. Organizations' behavioral identification can regulate the relationship between independence and autonomy. Further case studies support the value of the above findings. This shows that other mechanisms can often replace, offset or constrain the effects of resource dependence. In the real world, no single fixed theory can cover the independence-autonomy relationship.展开更多
The Huang-Huai-Hai Plain is one of the typical agri-ecosystems in China,which suffers from cold damage frequently resulting in substantial economic losses.In order to monitor the changes in the occurrence of cold dama...The Huang-Huai-Hai Plain is one of the typical agri-ecosystems in China,which suffers from cold damage frequently resulting in substantial economic losses.In order to monitor the changes in the occurrence of cold damage in an effective and large-scale manner,and to determine their meteorological causes,this paper collected low temperature data from the agricultural meteorological stations and remote sensing data of MODIS from 2005 to 2015,and constructed a monitoring model of cold damage to winter wheat in Huang-Huai-Hai Plain based on the Logistic regression model.This model was used to analyze the spatio-temporal changes of cold damage of winter wheat in Huang-Huai-Hai Plain from 2011 to 2020,and correlation analysis was performed with the spatio-temporal changes of meteorological factors to ascertain how they affect cold damage.The results show that the harm from cold damage in winter wheat has been gradually decreasing from 2011 to 2020,and the cold damage areas with high probability and high frequency are moving from north to south.The meteorological elements with the greatest impacts on the degree of cold damage from stronger to weaker are heat,precipitation and sunshine duration,whose influence has spatial variability.展开更多
Background and objective:Neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy(NCRT)followed by radical resection has been a common practice for patients with locally advanced rectal cancer.This study aimed to analyse the association of...Background and objective:Neoadjuvant chemoradiation therapy(NCRT)followed by radical resection has been a common practice for patients with locally advanced rectal cancer.This study aimed to analyse the association of tumor differentiation and prognosis in rectal-cancer patients undergoing NCRT.Methods:Patients with locally advanced,non-mucinous rectal cancer who underwent NCRT followed by radical resection between 2007 and 2017 were identified from an electronic health record system at the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yatsen University(Guangzhou,China).Multivariable logistic regression and multivariate Cox regression were performed to analyse the association of response to NCRT and survival with clinicopathological characteristics of all these patients.Results:We identified 325 patients(241 males and 84 females;mean age,54.4611.2 years)who underwent NCRT followed by radical resection,including 26(8.0%)with poorly-differentiated rectal cancer,182(56.0%)with moderately-differentiated cancer and 117(36.0%)with well differentiated cancer.Propensity score matching analysis and multivariable logistic regression analysis results showed that tumor differentiation was significantly associated with response to NCRT.In the poor differentiation and non-poor differentiation groups,the 3-year overall survival(OS)rates were 74.6 and 93.5%,respectively,whereas the 3-year local recurrence rates were 18.6 and 3.7%,respectively.Multivariable Cox regression analyses revealed that poor differentiation was an independent risk factor for local recurrence and OS.Conclusions:Among the patients with locally advanced,non-mucinous rectal cancer,the patients with poorlydifferentiated cancer who underwent NCRT had a worse response to NCRT and poorer prognosis than those with moderately-and well-differentiated diseases.展开更多
Background:Infliximab(IFX)is effective at inducing and maintaining clinical remission and mucosal healing in patients with Crohn’s disease(CD);however,9%–40%of patients do not respond to primary IFX treatment.This s...Background:Infliximab(IFX)is effective at inducing and maintaining clinical remission and mucosal healing in patients with Crohn’s disease(CD);however,9%–40%of patients do not respond to primary IFX treatment.This study aimed to construct and validate nomograms to predict IFX response in CD patients.Methods:A total of 343 patients diagnosed with CD who had received IFX induction from four tertiary centers between September 2008 and September 2019 were enrolled in this study and randomly classified into a training cohort(n=240)and a validation cohort(n=103).The primary outcome was primary non-response(PNR)and the secondary outcome was mucosal healing(MH).Nomograms were constructed from the training cohort using multivariate logistic regression.Performance of nomograms was evaluated by area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve(AUC)and calibration curve.The clinical usefulness of nomograms was evaluated by decision-curve analysis.Results:The nomogram for PNR was developed based on four independent predictors:age,C-reactive protein(CRP)at week 2,body mass index,and non-stricturing,non-penetrating behavior(B1).AUC was 0.77 in the training cohort and 0.76 in the validation cohort.The nomogram for MH included four independent factors:baseline Crohn’s Disease Endoscopic Index of Severity,CRP at week 2,B1,and disease duration.AUC was 0.79 and 0.72 in the training and validation cohorts,respectively.The two nomograms showed good calibration in both cohorts and were superior to single factors and an existing matrix model.The decision curve indicated the clinical usefulness of the PNR nomogram.Conclusions:We established and validated nomograms for the prediction of PNR to IFX and MH in CD patients.This graphical tool is easy to use and will assist physicians in therapeutic decision-making.展开更多
