The problem on how to distribute braking forces of front wheel and rear wheel for electric vehicles with four-wheel drive was more complex than that for electric vehicles with front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. In this work, the frictional braking forces distribution curve of front wheel and rear wheel is determined by optimizing the braking force distribution curve of hydraulic proportional-adjustable valve, and then the safety brake range is obtained correspondingly. A new braking force distribution strategy based on regenerative braking strength continuity is proposed to solve the braking force distribution problem for electric vehicles with four-wheel drive. Highway fuel economy test(HWFET) driving condition is used to provide the speed signals, the braking force equations of front wheel and rear wheel are expressed with linear equations. The feasibility, effectiveness, and practicality of the new braking force distribution strategy based on regenerative braking strength continuity are verified by regenerative braking strength simulation curve and braking force distribution simulation curves of front wheel and rear wheel. The proposed strategy is simple in structure, easy to be implemented and worthy being spread.展开更多

The vehicle load zones were dynamically divided into several zones by several torque lines to indicate the drivers deman...A torque distribution strategy was designed by using fuzzy logic to realize the optimal control. The vehicle load zones were dynamically divided into several zones by several torque lines to indicate the drivers demand and the high or low efficient operating areas of the diesel engine. The fuzzy logic controller with trapezoid membership function and Mamdani rule reference mechanism was utilized. There are over 100 rules used in this fuzzy-based torque distribution strategy which are sorted into four rule-bases. The fuel economy and acceleration tests were designed to test and validate the integrated starter/generator (ISG) bus perfor-mance using fuzzy-based torque distribution strategy. The fuel economy is improved 7.7% compared with the rule-based strategy. Finally the road test results reveal that there is about 15% improvement of fuel economy. And the 0-50 km/h acceleration time is 9.5% shorter than the original bus.展开更多

The model indicated that the controlled pneumatic system had disadvantages such as inherent non-linearity and variations of system parameters with working points. In order to improve the dynamic performance of the system, feed forward compensation self-tuning pole-placement strategy was adopted to place the poles of the system in a desired position in real time, and a recursive least square method with fixed forgetting factors was also used in the parameter estimation. Experimental results show that the steady state error of the pneumatic rotary position system is within 3% and the identified system parameters can be converged in 5 s. Under different loads, the controlled system has an excellent tracking performance and robustness of anti-disturbance.展开更多

First, the working parameters, namely, viscosity, supply pressure and supply time, are experimentally investigated. Then, the glue viscosity is approximated by a polynomial model using the least square method. Based on this model and temperatme control implemented using the Dahlin principle, the viscosity of the glue can be maintained at a constant value. Then, the viscosity model of the glue is applied to deriving the droplet mass as the nominal model of the temperature controller. The robustness of the temperature controller is analyzed by applying the small gain theory. The glue supply pressure controller is designed using the consistency control strategy, and the robustness is analyzed. A coordinating controller, responsible to distribute the total load power request among multiple DG units, is suggested based on the conception of hierarchical control structure in the dynamic system. The optimal control problem was formulated as a nonlinear optimization problem subject to set of constraints. The resulting problem was solved using the Kuhn-Tucker method. Computer simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method can provide better efficiency in terms of reducing total costs compared to existing methods. In addition, the proposed optimal load distribution strategy can be easily implemented in real-time thanks to the simplicity of closed-form solutions.展开更多

The algorithm is based on the synthetic optimization of dynamic performance and energy consumption of airship. Firstly, according to the system overall configuration, the dynamic model of HAA was established and the HAA linearized model of longitudinal plane motion was obtained. Secondly, using the classic PID control theory, the HAA attitude control system was designed. Thirdly, through analyzing the dynamic performance of airship with fin or vectored thruster control, the synthetic performance index function with different weighting functions was determined. By means of optimizing the obtained performance index function, the attitude control of high altitude airship with good dynamic performance and low energy consumption was achieved. Finally, attitude control allocation strategy was designed for the airship station keeping at an altitude of 22 km. The simulation experiment proved the validity of the proposed algorithm.展开更多

Due to the natural sources an...This paper proposes an optimal configuration of the distributed hybrid renewable generations based on the stand-alone micro-grid system, considering the diesel as the main control source. Due to the natural sources and load of user changes randomly and the non-tinearity of the power output by renewable generations, an intelligent optimization method based on the improvement of the genetic algorithm and the control strategy are discussed. The instance analysis is compared with the optimization result of the hybrid system based on HOMER (hybrid optimization of multiple energy resources) and GA (genetic algorithm) method on Matlab software. The simulation result of the optimal configuration showed the new hybrid renewable system and would improve the power supply situation which decreased the cost of energy greatly compared with the conventional form of power supply system which was operated only by diesel. The conclusion of the comparing result between HOMER and GA method shows the advantages of the strategy for the diesel as main control sources.展开更多

Besides cost and benefit considerations of the two sex environmental factors have been found to alter mating strategies w...Most birds engage in extrapair copulations despite great differences across and within species. Besides cost and benefit considerations of the two sex environmental factors have been found to alter mating strategies within or between populations and/or over time. For socially monogamous species, the main advantage that females might gain from mating with multiple males is probably increasing their offspring's genetic fitness. Since male (genetic) quality is mostly not directly meas- urable for female birds, (extrapair) mate choice is based on male secondary traits. In passerines male song is such a sexual ornament indicating male phenotypic and/or genetic quality and song repertoires seem to affect female mate choice in a number of species. Yet their role in extrapair mating behavior is not well understood. In this study, we investigated the proportion of extrapair paternity (EPP) in a population of common nightingales Luscinia megarhynchos. We found that EPP rate was rather high (21.5% of all offspring tested) for a species without sexual dimorphism and high levels of paternal care. Furthermore, the occurrence of EPP was strongly related to the spatial distribution of male territories with males settling in densely occupied areas having higher proportions of extrapair young within their own brood. Also, song repertoire size affected EPP: here larger repertoires of social mates were negatively related to the probability of being cuck- olded. When directly comparing repertoires sizes of social and extrapair mates, extrapair mates tended to have larger repertoires. We finally discuss our results as a hint for a flexible mating strat- egy in nightingales where several factors--including ecological as well as male song features-- need to be considered when studying reproductive behavior in monogamous species with complex song.展开更多
Environmentally clean photovoltaic(PV)generation has found wider application,but the power f luctuation generated from PV can negatively impact the operation of power system.A properly designed energy storage system(E...Environmentally clean photovoltaic(PV)generation has found wider application,but the power f luctuation generated from PV can negatively impact the operation of power system.A properly designed energy storage system(ESS)can stabilize power system by absorbing and injecting instantaneous power.Suitable control strategy of ESS is studied in order to accommodate the power f luctuation.It adopts negative feedback which considers the relationship between real power and voltage in the distribution network because resistor is comparable to reactance of the lines in the distribution network.A universal model of ESS is established,the characteristic parameters such as time-delay of system response,limitation of charging and discharging and restraint of energy storage capacity are taken into account.The validity of the proposed model is verif ied by user-def ined modules in power system analysis software package(PSASP).The operation of PV generation at Wuhan Railway Station in both grid-connected mode and island mode at Wuhan Railway Station is analyzed in detail.The performances of the local distribution network with PV under different weather conditions are summarized,and the key parameter of ESS suitable for PV generation at Wuhan Railway Station is also recommended.展开更多
As an important development direction of pure electric vehicle drive system,the distributed drive system has the advantages of compact structure,high transmission efficiency,and flexible control,but there are some ser...As an important development direction of pure electric vehicle drive system,the distributed drive system has the advantages of compact structure,high transmission efficiency,and flexible control,but there are some serious problems such as high performance requirements to the drive motors,complex control strategies,and poor reliability.To solve these problems,a two motors dual-mode coupling drive system has been developed at first,which not only has the capacity of two-speed gear shifting,but also can automatically switch between the distributed drive and the centralized drive by means of modes change control.So,the performance requirements to the drive motors can be reduced,the problem of abnormal running caused by the fault of unilateral distributed drive systems also can be resolved by replacing the drive mode with centralized drive.Then,the system parameters primary and the optimum matching under the principle of efficiency optimization have been carried out,which makes the drive system achieve predetermined functions and meet the actual demands of different operating statuses.At last,the economic comparison of a pure electric vehicle installation with a dual-mode coupling drive sytem,a single-motor centralized drive system or a dual-motor distributed drive system in the simulation conditions has been completed.Compared with other systems,the driving range of the electric vehicle driven by the designed system is significantly increased,which proves the better efficiency and application value of the system.展开更多
