Diode embedding impedance is found by full- wave analysis with lumped port to model the nonlinear junction for impedance matching without the need of diode equivalent circuit model. All the matching circuit is designed "on-chip" and the mul- tiplier is self-biasing. To the doubler, a conversion efficiency of 6.1% and output power of 5.4mW are measured at 214GHz with input power of 88mW, and the typical measured efficiency is 4.5% in 200 - 225 GHz.展开更多

A differential paired eFuse cell is designed which is about half the size smaller in sensing resistance of a programmed eFuse link than the conventional single-ended eFuse cell. Also, a sensing circuit of sense amplifier is proposed, based on D flip-flop structure to implement a simple sensing circuit. Furthermore, a sensing margin test circuit is proposed with variable pull-up loads out of consideration for resistance variation of a programmed eFuse. When an 8 bit eFuse OTP IP is designed with 0.18 ~tm standard CMOS logic of TSMC, the layout dimensions are 229.04 μm ×100.15μm. All the chips function successfully when 20 test chips are tested with a program voltage of 4.2 V.展开更多

This fact increased the necessity of control and management of load flo...The Brazilian electric sector reform established that the remuneration of distribution utilities must be through the management of their systems. This fact increased the necessity of control and management of load flows through the connection points between the distribution systems and the basic grid as a function of the contracted amounts. The objective of this control is to avoid that these flows exceed some thresholds along the contracted values, avoiding monetary penalties to the utility or unnecessary amounts of contracted flows that overrates the costumers. This question highlights the necessity of forecast the flows in these connection points in sufficient time to permit the operator to take decisions to avoid flows beyond the contracted ones. In this context, this work presents the development of a neural network based load flow forecaster, being tested two time-series neural models: support vector machines and Bayesian inference applied to multilayered perceptron. The importance of data communications network and its main bearer of business were described. The data communications network from IPv4 to IPv6 evolution of the five processes and four stages of the transition were analyzed. The smart distribution grid data communications network security and types of their offensive and defensive were discussed. And the data communications network security architecture was established. It covers three dimensions, the security level, the communications network security engineering and the communications network security management. The utilization of wind generation equipment, such as DFIGs (double fed induction generators), interconnected to islanded power generation and distribution systems is investigated in order to determine their effects...The utilization of wind generation equipment, such as DFIGs (double fed induction generators), interconnected to islanded power generation and distribution systems is investigated in order to determine their effects on the overall system operating characteristics and stability. The use of a stable power station (with high speed machines) will be critical in achieving fast and reliable transient response to network events, in particular, when large transient loads are expected on a continuous basis, i.e., industrial mining and mineral processing equipment. Simulation results of this paper assist in understanding how small power stations and wind generation equipment respond to large transients in an islanded network. In particular, detailed simulations and analyses will be presented on impacts of distributed wind generation units (1.5 MW DF1G) on the stability of a small weak network. The novelty of this paper is on detailed analyses and simulation of weak networks with interconnects DFIG's including their impacts on system stability under various transient operating conditions.展开更多

This microgrid has photovoltaic panels as microsources, energy storage, and a flexible AC distribution interfacing system that can operate connected to the public grid or autonomously where it regulates the site's voltage and frequency. In this paper, the potential of the microgrid in improving power quality issues of the site, specifically harmonic distortions, is demonstrated. Results show that flexible AC distribution interfacing system devices were able to compensate voltage harmonics when the microgrid was operating connected to the public grid and when operating autonomously. Other tests such as short-circuit, synchronization and blackstart were also conducted. The improvement in power quality and positive results of the other tests demonstrate that a self-supporting, reliable and efficient operation of the microgrid can be achieved.展开更多
