QCD Approach to B→Dπ Decays and CP Violation

The branching ratios and CP violations of the B →Dπ decays, including both the color-allowed and the color-suppressed modes, are investigated in detail within QCD framework by considering all diagrams that lead to t... The branching ratios and CP violations of the B →Dπ decays, including both the color-allowed and the color-suppressed modes, are investigated in detail within QCD framework by considering all diagrams that lead to three effective currents of two quarks. An intrinsic mass scale as a dynamical gluon mass is introduced to treat the infrared divergence caused by the soft collinear approximation in the endpoint regions, and the Cutkosky rule is adopted to deal with a physical-region singularity of the on mass-shell quark propagators. When the dynamical gluon mass μg is regarded as a universal sca/e, it is extracted to be around μg = 440 MeV from one of the well-measured B →Dπ decay modes. The resulting predictions for all branching ratios are in agreement with the current experimental measurements. As these decays have no penguin contributions, there are no direct CP asymmetries. Due to interference between the Cabibbo-suppressed and the Cabibbo-favored amplitudes, mixing-induced CP violations are predicted in the B →D^±π^±↓ decays to be consistent with the experimental data at 1-σ level. More precise measurements will be helpful to extracting weak angle 2β+γ. 展开更多

The propagators of pion and sigma meson at a finite nuclear density and zero temperature are studied in chiral σ model. Their dispersion relations are calculated numerically in one-loop approximation. In order to avoid the so-called tachyon pole appearing in the one-loop propagators of pion and sigma meson, we regard the mass of sigma meson mσ as a free parameter and adjust it to fit the nuclear saturation properties. For mσ equal to 3075 MeV, the tachyonpole does not appear at the normal nuclear density. Thus the dispersion relation can be calculated in chiral σ model in one-loop level for the first time. 展开更多

The sigma meson production in p + ^12C and p A- ^40Ca reactions at the incident energy Ep = 1.5 GeV is investigated within the Quantum Molecular Dynamics model. The simulation results indicate a distinctive A dependence of the sigma production, that is, the increase of A is followed by an increase of the production cross sections. We find that the σ meson production in proton-induced reactions is strongly medium-dependent, and the produced σ mesons decaying in a denser medium experience a stronger mass shift towards lower masses. This mass shift is an experimentally accessible observable in the final state pion pairs, which do not suffer from reabsorption by the surrounding nucleons. It is pointed out that the ratio of measured sigma cross sections as a function of the sigma invariant-mass from various reactions is a good probe to explore the existence of the σ meson in a dense nuclear environment. 展开更多

Based on the quark-gluon structure of nucleon and the possible existence of Odderon in strong interaction process due to gluon self-interaction, the elastic scatterings of pp and p^-p at high energies are studied. The contributions from individual terms of quark-quark, gluon-gluon interactions, quark-gluon interference, and the Odderon terms to the nuclear slope parameter B(s) are analyzed. Our results show that the QCD inspired model gives a good fit to the LHC experimental data of the nuclear slope parameter. 展开更多
