Long gold nanoparticle chains with good dispersion in water could be easily obtained after adding dextran in- to the mixture of HAuC14 and sodium citrate. The measurements of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS) confirmed the formation of gold nanoparticle chains.
