Organicextractant tri-butyl phosphate (TBP) was used to purify leach solution. Several parameters, such as TBP, HCl and chloride inorganicsalt concentrations were chosen in order to determine efficient state for impurities separation. Standard solvent extraction tests forextraction and separation of Au, Pd, Pt, Fe, Cu and Se were conducted with equal volume of aqueous and organic phases in batchexperiments. The effect of hydrochloric acid, organic phase and metals initial concentration were examined at ambient temperature. Itwas found that 0.25 mol/L TBP in the presence of 2.5 mol/L hydrochloric acid can cause high extraction of gold. Meanwhile, in theseconditions the extraction of other impurities is negligible. After extraction, pregnant organic phase was scrubbed by distilled waterand some impurities were removed. Finally, gold was stripped by sodium thiosulfate solution. The stripping solution does not haveany impurities. By adding H2SO4 to stripping solution containing Na2S2O2, SO2 gas is released and Au3+ ions could be reduced.展开更多

Microstructure characterization of the composite coatings was tested utilizing SEM, XRD and EDS. Microhardnessmeasurement was executed to evaluate the mechanical properties of the composite coatings. The results show that for low Fe content, the composite coating presents a feature that Fe-rich equiaxed dendrites are embedded in the Cu-rich matrix. With increasing Fecontent, the Fe-rich particles are dispersed in the Cu-rich matrix. With further increasing Fe content, large amounts of Cu-richparticles are homogeneously dispersed in the interdendrite of the Fe-rich matrix. Correspondingly, the average microhardness of thecomposite coatings increases gradually with the increase of Fe content and the microhardness of Cu14.5Fe83Si2C0.5 coating is muchtwice higher than that of the substrate.展开更多

A theoretical model was proposed to predict the S-tolerant performance of the Pd-Cu membranes in presence of H2S under the industrial water-gas-shift(WGS) reaction conditions. The ideas of surface coverage and competitive adsorption thermodynamics of H2S and H2 on Pd-Cu surface were introduced in the model. The surface sulphidization of the Pd-Cu membranes mainly depended on the pressure ratio of H2S to H2, temperature and S-adsorbed surface coverage, i.e., the occurrence of sulphidization on the surface was not directly related with the bulk compositions and structures [body centered cubic and face centered cubic(bcc or fcc)] of Pd-Cu alloy membranes because of the surface segregation phenomena. The resulting equilibrium equations for the H2S adsorption/sulphidization reactions were solved to calculate the pressure ratio of H2S to H2 over a wide range of temperatures. A validation of the model was performed through a comparison between lots of literature data and the model calculations over a rather broad range of operating conditions. An extremely good agreement was obtained in the different cases, and thus, the model can serve to guide the development of S-resistant Pd alloy membrane materials for hydrogen separation.展开更多

The experiments were carried out to estimate adsorptivity and selectivity of three molecular weights chitosan, 3.60 × 105 (Chl), 5.97 × 105 (Ch2) and 9.47 × 105 (Ch3) g/mol, towards Cu(II), Ni(II), and Pb(II) ions in aqueous solutions. Experimental results indicated that chitosan of high molecular weight (Ch3) was the best at adsorption capacity than the others.
