METHODS: The stress-induced gastric mucosal injury in rat model was established by water-immersion and restrained stress methods. 52 rats were randomly divided into: normal group (n = 8), model group (n = 8), model serum group (n = 12), stomach serum group (n = 12), and gallbladder serum group (n = 12). The gastric mucosal cells were separated by pronase-EDTA digestion method and incubated with serum. The EGFR gene expression in gastric mucosal cells was detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method. RESULTS: Compared with normal group (0.6860 ± 0.0594), the serum derived from rats of the stomach group (1.2272 ± 0.0813, P = 0.00 < 0.01) and gallbladder group (0.9640 ± 0.0387, P = 0.00 < 0.01) had a tendency to enhance the EGFR gene expression in gastric mucosal cells. Such tendency existed in the model group (0.7104 ± 0.0457) but with no signifi cant difference (P = 0.495 > 0.05) and in model serum group (0.8516 ± 0.0409) with an extremely obvious difference (P = 0.001 < 0.01). Furthermore, the EGFR gene expression in stomach serum group was significantly higher than that in gallbladder serum group (P = 0.00 < 0.01). CONCLUSION: The present study shows that serumderived from rats treated with electroacupuncture at stomach meridian acupoints can distinctly increase the EGFR gene expression of gastric mucosal cells. Therefore, there is certain meridian specificity in the serum, which could provide a proof for the TCM theory “particular relation between meridian and internal organ”.展开更多

The bilateral common carotid arteries were occluded to induce acute cerebral ischemia. Nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin (ET)contents in the cerebral tissues and blood were measured under normal condition, immediately after ischemia and following EA. Results showed that after acute cerebral ischemia NO and ET contents in the cerebral tissues increased significantly (P<0.01) while serum ET increased and serum NO lowered obviously (P<0.05). Following EA of Baihui (GV 20) and Dazhui (GV 14), both NO and ET in cerebral tissues and serum turned to normal basically. It showed that EA could protect the cerebral tissues from injury induced by ischemia, NO and ET might participate in the modulation process of EA.展开更多

Results showed that after EA of “Zusanli" (ST 36), CD+ 4, RBC-C 3bRR and RBC-ICR in the peripheral blood of the normal rats increased significantly while CD+ 8 had no any considerable changes and a positive correlation between CD+ 4 and RBC-C 3bRR was found. In immunosuppression model rats, the values of CD+ 4 and RBC-C 3bRR were obviously lower than those of the normal control group while CD+ 8 had no any striking changes; but after EA treatment, there were no evident differences between EA group and normal control group in the above-mentioned indexes. There were also no any significant differences between non-acupoint group and normal control group in those indexes. Results suggest that EA of “Zusanli" (ST 36) can raise T cell immune function and RBC adhesion function in both normal rats and immunosuppression model rats, both of which present a positive correlation.展开更多

Methods Fifty SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: a normal control group (Norm), a sham operation group (Sham), a model group (Mod) and an electroacupuncture (EA) group. EA at "Fengfu" (风府 GV16) and "Taichong" (太冲 LR 3) was applied once daily for 2 weeks in Group EA, and no treatment was given to the animals in the other three groups. PD model was established by using 6-hydroxydopamine. Numbers of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α)and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) positive reactive cells in substantia nigra (SN) were counted by using immunohistochemical methods. Results The total TH positive neurons in Group Mod were obviously less than those in Group Norm and Group Sham (P〈0.01), and the numbers of TNF-α and IL-1β positive cells in Group Mod increased more significantly than those in Group Norm, and Group Sham (P〈0.01). The total TH positive neurons in Group EA were obviously more than those in Group Mod (P〈0.01), and the numbers of TNF-α and IL-1β positive cells in Group EA were obviously less than those in Group Mod (P〈0.01), indicating that EA could markedly lower the contents of such pre-inflammatory factors like TNF-α and IL-1β in SN of experimental rats with PD. Conclusion EA may provide its protective functions on dopaminergic neurons by way of alleviating inflammatory reactions in SN of rats with PD.展开更多

Methods One hundred and four patients with nervous tinnitus were randomly divided into a group A and a group B according to the method of random number table, with 52 patients in each group. In the group A, acupuncture at Yìfēng(翳风 TE 17), Tīnggōng(听宫 SI 19), Tīnghuì(听会 GB 2), ěrmén(耳门 TE 21) and Fēngchí(风池 GB 20) combined with auricular acupressure, such as Shènshàngxiàn(肾上腺 TG 2p), Jiāog?n(交感 AH6a), Nèifēnmì(内分泌 CO18), Nèi?r(内耳 LO 6), Wài?r(外耳 TG1u), Shèn(肾 CO10) and Gān(肝 CO12) were applied; in the group B, intravenous injection with compound Dānshēn(丹参 Radix et Rhizoma Salviae Miltiorrhizae) dissolved in 250 m L of 0.9% Na Cl injection were applied, combined with oral administration of 10 mg of Vitamin B1 and 0.5 mg of mecobalamin tablets. After treatment for three courses in the two groups, efficacy was evaluated based on Reference Standards of Severity, Assessment and Efficacy Evaluation of Tinnitus. Results In the group A(75 ears with nervous tinnitus), 30 ears were cured, markedly effective was seen in 21 ears, and effective in 22, and the total effective rate was 97.4%; in the group B(76 ears with nervous tinnitus), 17 ears were cured, markedly effective was seen in 20 ears, and effective in 23, and the total effective rate was 79.0%. The total effective rate in the group A was obviously superior to that in the group B, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P〈0.05). Compared before the treatment, the score of tinnitus severity both reduced in two groups(both P〈0.05), and the reducing amplitude of score in the group A was greater than that in the group B(P〈0.05). Conclusion Electroacupuncture combined with auricular acupressure in treatment of nervous tinnitus is worthy of clinical promotion and application since it has significant efficacy, which is obviously superior to drug therapy, and without adverse effect.展开更多

Methods Seventy cases were randomized into an acupuncture group and a western medicine group, 35 cases in each one. In the acupuncture group, the conventional acupuncture was applied at Tianshu {天枢 ST 25), Zusanli (足三里 ST 36), Shangjuxu {上巨虚 ST 37), Sanyinjiao (三阴交 SP 6), Taichong (太冲 LR 3) and so on. Electric stimulation was supplemented at bilateral ST 25. The treatment was given once a day, 3-4 treatments in a week. In the western medicine group, pinaverium bromide (dicetel) was prescribed for oral administration, 50 mg each time, three times a day. Four weeks made one session in the two groups. Separately, before treatment and after 1 session treatment, the integral of clinical symptom and the score in the scale of the quality of life measure for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-Q OL) were observed for the patients in the two groups. The efficacy and recurrence rate were assessed in the two groups. Results The symptom integral and IBS-QOL score in the two groups were improved significantly after treatment Call P〈0.01), and the improvements in the acupuncture group were superior to that in the western medicine group (P〈0.01). The effective rate was 94.3% {33/35) in the acupuncture group, which was superior to 77.1% (27/35) in the western medicine group (P〈0.01). In 3 months, the recurrence rate was 36.4% (12/33) in the acupuncture group, which was lower apparently than 72.0% (18/25) in the western medicine group (P〈O.01). Conclusion Acupuncture therapy based on soothing the liver and strengthening the spleen achieves the superior efficacy on D-IBS as compared with western medication, pinaverium bromide. This therapy improves apparently the quality of life of the patients and is lower in recurrence rate.展开更多

Methods Ninety cases of simple obesity of gastrointestinal heat type were randomized into an EA group and a CA group, 45 cases in each one. In the EA group, CA was applied at Neiting (内庭 ST 44), Shangjuxu (上巨虚 ST 37), Xiajuxu (下巨虚 ST 39), Fenglong (丰隆 ST 40), Tianshu (天枢 ST 25), Zusanli (足三里 ST 36), YTnlingquan (阴陵泉 SP 9) and Ouchi (曲池 LI 12). The electric stimulation was attached at ST 37, ST 44, ST 25 and ST 40. In CA group, the simple acupuncture was applied at the same points as the EA group. The treatment was given once every two days, 22 treatments made one session and 3 sessions were required totally in the two groups. The changes in body mass, obesity degree, body mass index (BMI) and body fat percentage (F%) were observed in the patients before and after treatment. The therapeutic effects on weight loss and fat loss were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the weight, obesity degree, BMI and F% were all reduced apparently in the patients of the two groups (all P〈0.01). After the 2st session of treatment, concerning to the effect on weight loss, the total effective rate in the EA group was superior to that in the CA group [95.6% (43/45) vs 77.8% (35/45), P〈0.05]. The effects were not different apparently between the two groups in the later 2 sessions of treatment (all P〉0.05). The effect on fat loss was not different significantly in statistics between EA and CA (all P〉0.05). Conclusion Either EA or CA achieves the significant effect on simple obesity. The therapeutic effect of EA on weight loss in the early stage is obviously superior to that of CA.展开更多

文摘AIM: To investigate the effect of serum derived from rats treated with electroacupuncture at stomach meridian acupoints on the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene in gastric mucosal cells. Therefore, there is certain meridian specificity in the serum, which could provide a proof for the TCM theory “particular relation between meridian and internal organ”.

Local tender-point is used as the main acupoint, combined with Tunzhong, Tiaoyue, Weizhong (BL 40) and Yanglingquan (GB 34). The treatment is conducted once daily, with 15 sessions being a therapeutic course. Following treatment, of 176 cases, 46 (26. 1%) are cured, 90 (51. 1%) have prominent improvement, 35 (19.8%) have amelioration and 5 (2.8%) have no apparent changes, with a total effective rate of 97.0%.
文摘Thirty Wistar rats were randomly and evenly divided into control group, cerebral ischemia group and ischemia + electroacupuncture (EA) group. It showed that EA could protect the cerebral tissues from injury induced by ischemia, NO and ET might participate in the modulation process of EA.
文摘Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of clinical treatment of acute urticaria chiefly by electroacupuncture (EA). Methods: A total of 180 outpatients with acute urticaria were randomized into treatment group and control group. 100 cases in the treatment group were treated with EA at Quchi (曲池 LI 11) and Xuehai (血海 SP 10) as the main points which were supplemented with Dazhui (大椎 GV 14), Fengchi (风池 GB 20), Geshu (膈俞 BL 17), Pishu (脾俞 BL 20), etc. 80 cases in the control group were managed by chlorpheniramine maleate and Vitamin C. Results: After 3 days’ treatment, of the 100 and 80 cases in treatment and control groups, 79 and 53 were cured, 10 and 6 markedly effective, 5 and 8 effective, and 6 and 13 failed, with the effective rates being 94.00% and 83.75% respectively. The therapeutic effect of electroacupunture was significantly superior to that of medication(P<0.05). Conclusion: The method of electroacupuncture at Quchi (曲池 LI 11), Xuehai (血海 SP 10),etc. was a more effective therapy for acute urticaria.
文摘In the present study, the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) on immune system was observed in the rat by using micro- whole blood direct immunofluorescence staining assay to detect changes of the peripheral blood T lymphocyte subgroup and employing red blood cell (RBC) C 3b receptor- yeast rosette test and red blood cell-IC rosette test to analyze erythrocytic immune function. Results suggest that EA of “Zusanli" (ST 36) can raise T cell immune function and RBC adhesion function in both normal rats and immunosuppression model rats, both of which present a positive correlation.
文摘In the present study, the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) of acupoints of Ren, Spleen and Stomach Meridians on artificial abortion induced side effects was observed in 100 artificial abortion women. In comparison with 45 artificial abortion women in the control group (who had not accepted EA treatment), EA possessed significant effects in relieving abdominal pain, reducing vaginal bleeding duration, lowering infection rate and infertility rate after artificial abortion operation.
文摘Point selection along the course of meridians is the basic principle for acupuncture prescription and selection of points. In application, there are three categories of point selection: selection of local and adjacent points; selection of distant points, and selection of symptomatic points. Based on the
文摘Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of anxiety state in patients with primary insomnia(PI).Methods:Randomized controlled trials of acupuncture treatment for PI patients with an anxiety state in Web of Science,Cochrane Library,PubMed,Excerpta Medica Database(EMBASE),China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform(Wanfang),and Chongqing VIP Database(VIP)were retrieved by computer. The retrieval time was from each database’s inception to December 30,2022.Data extraction and evaluation were performed for the included studies. The Cochrane risk of bias assessment tool was used to assess the risk of bias in each article.Meta-analysis of valid data was performed using the RevMan 5.4 software. If the outcome indicator was a categorical variable, relative risk(RR)was used as the effect size.If it was a continuous variable, mean difference(MD)was used to calculate the effect size. Each effect size was expressed as a 95%confidence interval(CI).P<0.05 was considered to indicate a statistically significant difference. Results:A total of 18 studies were included, comprising a total of 1198 patients. The findings of the meta-analysis showed that electroacupuncture had a significant advantage in improving the Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA)score than benzodiazepines[MD=-1.61,95%CI(-2.17,-1.06),P<0.001].Acupuncture was superior to sham acupuncture[MD=-14.90,95%CI(-20.39,-9.41),P<0.001]and benzodiazepines[MD=-3.39,95%CI(-4.67,-2.12),P<0.001]in reducing the self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)score.Acupuncture was superior to sham acupuncture in reducing the insomnia severity index(ISI)score[MD=-5.61,95%CI(-6.63,-4.89),P<0.001].Acupuncture was superior to benzodiazepines[MD=0.84,95%CI(-1.42,-0.25),P=0.005]and sham acupuncture[MD=-8.39,95%CI(-8.39,-7.86),P<0.001]in improving the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)score.Acupuncture had a better effective rate than benzodiazepines[RR=1.16,95%CI(1.08,1.25),P<0.001]and sham acupuncture[RR=8.94,95%CI(4.63,17.25),P<0.001]in treating PI.Conclusion:Acupuncture or electroacupuncture has certain therapeutic advantages over benzodiazepines and sham acupuncture in the treatment of anxiety in PI patients. However, more high-quality randomized controlled trials are needed for further verification.

文摘Objective To observe mechanisms of electroacupuncture (EA) on treating Parkinson' s disease (PD). Conclusion EA may provide its protective functions on dopaminergic neurons by way of alleviating inflammatory reactions in SN of rats with PD.
文摘Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture combined with auricular acupressure in treatment of nervous tinnitus. Conclusion Electroacupuncture combined with auricular acupressure in treatment of nervous tinnitus is worthy of clinical promotion and application since it has significant efficacy, which is obviously superior to drug therapy, and without adverse effect.

文摘Objective To compare the difference in the therapeutic effects on diarrhea- type irritable bowel syndrome (D-IBS) between acupuncture based on soothing the liver and strengthening the spleen and western medicine. This therapy improves apparently the quality of life of the patients and is lower in recurrence rate.

文摘Objective To compare the therapeutic effect on simple obesity of gastrointestinal heat type between electroacupuncture (EA) and conventional acupuncture (CA). The therapeutic effect of EA on weight loss in the early stage is obviously superior to that of CA.
