In the present paper, the authors compared the therapeutic effects of acu moxibustion and medication in the treatment of 80 cases of aorto arteritis and observed their effects on blood rheology of the limbs. Results showed that in acu moxibustion group (n=40) and medication group (n=40), the cure rates were 15% and 0, the markedly effective rates 62.5% and 12.5%, and the total effective rates 95% and 75% respectively. The therapeutic effect of acu moxibustion group was significantly superior to that of medication group (P<0.01). Following acu moxibustion treatment, the blood pressure and blood flow velocity of the brachial artery, the amplitude of the air volume wave of the wrist and the amplitude of the digital volume pulse wave increased remarkably compared with pre treatment (P<0.01), and after treatment with medication, only the blood velocity of brachial artery increased evidently in comparison with pre treatment (P<0.05). Comparison between two groups showed that values of the 4 indexes of acu moxibustion group were all significantly higher than those of medication group (P<0.01), displaying that the therapeutic effect of acu moxibustion is superior to that of medication. It provides experimental evidence for clinical effective treatment of aorto arteritis (branchiocephalic artery type) with acupuncture and moxibustion. 展开更多

Objective To observe the difference in efficacy between governor vessel- regulating needling and conventional acupuncture, and to summarize the clinical efficacy and application rules of governor vessel-regulating needling. Methods Ninety patients with cerebral infarction were randomly divided into 2 groups with 45 cases in each group. Governor vessel-regulating needling combined with rehabilitation training were applied in governor vessel- regulating needling group (observation group), and conventional acupuncture combined with rehabilitation training were applied in conventional acupuncture group (control group). Modified Barthel index (MBI), FugI-Meyer assessment (FMA) and neurological deficit scale (NDS) were adopted to assess the treatment efficacy in the two groups before treatment, after treatment for 2 weeks, and after treatment for 4 weeks, respectively. Results After treatment for 2 weeks, MBI and FMA increased significantly in both groups when compared with the results before treatment (all P〈0.01), NDS reduced significantly in both groups when compared with the results before treatment (both P〈0.01), and there was no significant difference in MBI, FMA and NDS between two groups (all P〉0.05); after treatment for 4 weeks, MBI and FMA in observation group were significantly higher than those in control group (both P〈0.05), and NDS was significantly lower than that in control group (P〈0.05). Conclusion Compared with conventional acupuncture, governor vessel- regulating needling can significantly improve the activities of daily living of patients with cerebral infarction. 展开更多

Objective: Needling lumbosacral acupoints could regulate unstable bladder (USB). The present study is to observe the ambulatory urodynamics changing of needling Huiyang (BL 35) on USB to provide scientific basis for the relative theory of acupoint and Zang-fu organs, and the rule of acupuncture treatment. Methods: Unstable bladder model were prepared in 80 Wistar rats, and then they were randomly divided into treatment group (n=40) and model group (n=40). The urodynamics were monitored respectively at 2 h, 6 h, 12 h and 24 h after acupuncture and the results were analyzed. Results: After acupuncture Huiyang (BL 35), the compliance of bladder were superior to that of model group at 2 h, 6 h and 12 h, respectively (P〈0.05), and the bladder volume were superior to that of model group at 2 h and 12 h, respectively (P〈0.05). After acupuncture Huiyang (BL 35), the compliance and volumn of bladder at 12 h were superior to those at other time (P〈0.05). Twenty-four hours later, the effect of acupuncture on urodynamics decreased. Conclusion: Needling Huiyang (BL 35) could improve the urodynamics of USB, including improving the compliance of bladder and increasing the volume of bladder. Acupuncture Huiyang (BL 35) had the most effect at 12 h. 展开更多
