Methods Based on the key words, i.e. acupuncture, electroacupuncture, acupuncture-moxibustion, frozen shoulder, adhesive capsulitis, shoulder disorders etc., the Chinese databases were retrieved, including Oochrane Musculoskeleta Group, Oochrane Controlled Trials Register, Oochrane Complementary Medicine Field, and the central database of the Oochrane Library as well as MEDLINE, EMBASE and Chinese Biomedical CD (OBM-disc). 20 Chinese medical journals and relevant academic conference proceedings have been searched manually. The reference lists of identified documents were checked as the supplementary retrieval. Results 6 randomized controlled trials on frozen shoulder with acupuncture and electroacupuncture were included, indicating quite advanced study quality. There were 34 to 257 participants in the trials, 668 in total. The total OR of CMS/OSA was OR 3.49 (95 % CI - 2.64 to 9.63), the total OR of VAS was OR - 1.24 (95% CI -3.50 to 1.01), the total OR of ROM was OR 35.70 (95% CI 22.91 to 48.49); the total OR of MELLE was OR 4.30 (95% OI 2.32 to 7.98). Conclusion It is shown in the present limited inclusive trials on frozen shoulder that acupuncture is the safe therapy and effective on improving the global function, relieving pain, and improving the range of motion of shoulder. All the therapeutic effects of acupuncture are superior to those in control group. However, much more high quality trials are required to provide much stronger evidence. Additionally, much more evidences on validity of frozen shoulder with other assessing indexes involved are required in the treatment with acupuncture.展开更多

This paper reviews the principle, indications, main literature results, limitations and future expectations for each of the methods presented. Contrast-enhanced harmonic EUS uses a low mechanical index and highlights slowflow vascularization. This technique is useful for differentiating solid and cystic pancreatic lesions and assessing biliary neoplasms, submucosal neoplasms and lymph nodes. It is also useful for the discrimination of pancreatic masses based on their qualitative patterns; however, the quantitative assessment needs to be improved. The detection of small solid lesions is better, and the EUS-FNA guidance needs further research. The differentiation of cystic lesions of the pancreas and the identification of the associated malignancy features represent the main indications. Elastography is used to assess tissue hardness based on the measurement of elasticity. Despite its low negative predictive value, elastography might rule out the diagnosis of malignancy for pancreatic masses. Needle confocal laser endomicroscopy offers useful information about cystic lesions of the pancreas and is still under evaluation for use with solid pancreatic lesions of lymph nodes.展开更多

However, cytogenetic and genomic data is limited in the organism partly because the chromosomes are difficult to isolate and analyze. In this study, fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) was used to identify the chromosomes of F. chinensis. The 5S ribosomal RNA gene (rDNA) of F. chinensis was isolated, cloned and then used as a hybridization probe. The results show that the 5S rDNA was located on one pair of homologous chromosomes in F chinensis. In addition, triploid shrimp were used to evaluate the feasibility of chromosome identification using FISH and to validate the method. It was confirmed that 5S rDNA can be used as a chromosome-specific probe for chromosome identification in E chinensis. The successful application ofFISH in E chinensis shows that chromosome-specific probes can be developed and this finding will facilitate further research on the chromosomes ofpenaeid shrimps.展开更多

The fluorescence intensity of NR increased due to the formed inclusion complex of HP-β-CD and NR. But the fluorescence intensity of NR-HP-β-CD diminished when chlorobenzene was added, and there was a linear relationship between the fluorescence quenching value of the system (△IF = IF, NR-HP-β-CD - IF, CB-NB-NR-HP-β-CD) and the concentration of chlorobenzene. Based on this, a novel fluorescence quenching method for the determination of chlorobenzene with NR as a fluorescence probe has been developed. Under the optimal conditions, the linear range of calibration curve for the determination of chlorobenzene was 5.0 × 10^-8 - 8.0 × 10^-6 mol/L and the detection limit was 1.0 × 10^-8 mol/L. It has been applied to determination ofchlorobenzene in synthetic waste water samples with satisfactory results.展开更多

In the present paper, the author expounds its theoretical basis from yin-yang theory, investigates its origin from the location of acupoints and ancient clinical application, and introduces its current application in clinical practice. In addition, the author lists 4 typical cases about treatment of hysteric convulsion, pregnant hypertension, child bed-wetting and leucorrhagia with opposite acupoints. Clinical practice demonstrates that opposite acupoints therapy is fewer in taking acupoints for one session of treatment, simple in operation, and good in the therapeutic effect for treatment of various diseases of different systems in the human body.展开更多

Methods: We searched electronic databases, including PubMed, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, EMBASE, CBM, CNKI, and VIP. All included studies were assessed in terms of quality and risk bias. The Review Manager 5.3.3 software was used for the data analyses, and the GRADE profiler software was applied to classify the systematic review results. Results: Seventeen studies were identified (n = 1,408). Acupuncture (electro-acupuncture or magnetic needle) was equally as effective as sham treatment (needle acupuncture) (relative risk [RR], 0.95; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.72-1.24). Acupuncture (needle acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, moxibustion, and acupoint catgut embedding) was as effective as statin therapy (RR 0.10; 95%CI, 0.97-1.24). Acupuncture was as effective as Chinese herbal preparations (electro-acupuncture and auricular acupoint) (RR, 0.97; 95%CI, 0.89-1.06). However, insufficient evidence was available to demonstrate whether acupressure was effective compared with acupuncture plus other treatments (RR, 1.04; 95%CI, 0.87-1.25). Conclusion: Acupuncture may improve hyperlipidemia levels. However, additional large, properly randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind studies are required.展开更多

Methods Databases were retrieved such as Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Sicence, EMbase, CBM, CNKI and WanFang Data so as to look up randomized controlled trials (RCT) of treating post-stroke depression with acupuncture and western medicine, and the time limit for the retrieval spanned from the date of database established to September 2013. By extracting data and evaluating methodological quality of included studies according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, RevMan 5.2 software was applied for Meta-analysis and evidence quality was assessed by adopting the GRADE system. Results Atotal of 23 RCTs (845 patients with post-stroke depression) were included in this study. It was revealed by Meta-analysis that the differences of the two groups were statistically significant in terms of HAMD scale scores measured at the end of the treatment by comparing the treatment of acupuncture and western medicine [SMD=0.26, 95% CI (0.11, 0.40)], but via susceptibility analysis (excluding low quality studies), the differences were not statistically significant [SMD=-0.06, 95% CI (-0.37, 0.25)], and the reliability of the results was low; in terms of adverse events, the differences were statistically significant [RR= 0.32, 95% Cl (0.19, 0.53)], and the risk of adverse events reduced by 68% in the acupuncture group. From the assessment on evidence quality grade based on GRADE system, it was revealed that HAMD scores and adverse events were evidences with fairly low quality. Conclusion Although this system assessment showed that treating post-stroke depression with acupuncture was more effective compared with western medicine, the result was less reliable and quality of evidences was poor. The above-mentioned results need more high- quality randomized controlled trials for further verification.展开更多

Methods One hundred and two patients with severe craniocerebral injury were randomly divided into an acupuncture group and an electrical stimulation (ES) group with 51 cases in each group. In addition to conventional treatment and nursing in neurosurgery, acupuncture at Shuigou (水沟 GV 26), Neiguan (内关PC 6) and Sanyingjiao (三阴交 SP 6), as the main aeupoints, were applied for the cases in acupuncture group, and functional electrical stimulation (FES) was applied at selected muscles in the affected upper limb for the cases in ES group. The awaken rate, time for arousal and clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups after 30 days of treatments. Results The awaken rate was 82.4%(42/51) in acupuncture group, which was significantly higher than 56.9%(29/51) in ES group (P〈0.01), and the arousal time was significantly shorter and therapeutic effects were better in acupuncture group than those in ES group (both P〈0.01). Conclusion On the basis of conventional treatment, early application of acupuncture provides better effects on restoration of arousal function of the brain in patients with severe craniocerebral injury than functional electrical stimulation.展开更多

文摘The fluorescence quenching of inclusion complex of neutral red (NR) and hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) carried by chlorobenzene was investigated. It has been applied to determination ofchlorobenzene in synthetic waste water samples with satisfactory results.
文摘In the light of the position character, acupoints situating on the corresponding medial and lateral sides of the limbs or in the front and back parts of the body trunk are called as “opposite acupoints”. Clinical practice demonstrates that opposite acupoints therapy is fewer in taking acupoints for one session of treatment, simple in operation, and good in the therapeutic effect for treatment of various diseases of different systems in the human body.
文摘Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for hyperlipidemia in adults. However, additional large, properly randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind studies are required.
文摘Objective:To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of three-step acupuncture and cupping therapy for cervicogenic headache(CEH).Methods:A randomized,single-blind,multi-center,parallel controlled clinical trial was performed, including 63 patients with CEH who met the study criteria. They were randomly divided into treatment(n=32)and control groups(n=31).The treatment group was treated with three-step acupuncture and cupping therapy, and the control group was treated with sham acupuncture. The simplified McGill pain scores, comprising three parts:the pain rating index, visual analogue scale score, and present pain intensity, alongside head and neck stiffness and cervical vertebra range of motion, and a safety evaluation were recorded in the two groups before treatment, immediately after the first treatment, after 10 days of treatment, after 20 days of treatment, and 3 months after the end of treatment. Results:Compared with before treatment, the scores at each follow-up time point were significantly improved after treatment;moreover, the treatment group was significantly better than the control group. When the scores at the 3 months follow-up after the end of the treatment were compared with the scores after 20 days of treatment, there were no significant differences in the treatment group while significant differences from the scores of the control group, suggesting that the treatment group had better long-term benefits than the control group. Conclusion:Compared with the sham acupuncture group, the three-step acupuncture and cupping method has a beneficial effect in the treatment of CEH.It provides rapid benefits, has better short-and long-term efficacy than sham acupuncture, and is associated with a low recurrence rate.
文摘Objective To compare the effect of laser needle-knife and acupuncture with medication for vertebral-artery-type cervical spondylosis (CSA). Methods The 88 outpatients of CSA were divided with single-blind method into Treatment Group (treated by laser needle-knife and acupuncture) with 48 patients in it and Control Group (treated by Intravenous drip of Compound Salvia Miltiorrhiza Injection and oral taking of Flunarizine (Sibelium) with 40 patients in it. Before the treatment, the two groups were without difference statistically. Results In the treatment group, the curative rate was 60.42% and the total effective rate 97.92%. In the control group, the curative rate was 30% and the total effective rate 87.5%. In statistics, P〈0.05, a significant difference existed between the two groups. Conclusion The effect of laser needleknife and acupuncture for CSA is obviously better than that of medication, worth spreading.

文摘Objective To assess the efficacy and safety of treating post-stroke depression with acupuncture compared to western medicine systematically. The above-mentioned results need more high- quality randomized controlled trials for further verification.
文摘Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion in treatment of functional amenorrhea by establishing artificial cycle.Method One hundred and twelve eligible patients with functional amenorrhea were divided into an acupuncture-moxibustion group(64 cases) and a western medication group(48 cases) by adopting random method.According to the pattern differentiation of amenorrhea of traditional Chinese medicine, the patients in the acupuncture-moxibustion group were classified into two types:amenorrhea due to blood depletion and amenorrhea due to stagnation of blood. For patients with amenorrhea due to blood depletion,Guanyuan(关元 CV4),Zhongji(中极CV 3),GuiTlai(归来ST 29),Geshu(膈俞 BL 17),Ganshu(肝俞BL 18),Pishu(脾俞 BL 20) and Shenshu(肾俞 BL 23) were selected. At first,BL 17,BL 18,BL 20 and BL 23 were needled;after deqi, reinforcing method was applied, and the needles were not retained. Then, warmingneedle moxibustion was applied at CV 4,CV 3 and ST 29,and the needles were retained for 30 min.For patients with amenorrhea due to stagnation of blood,CV 3,Qihai(气海CV 6),Xuehai(血海 SP 10),Sanyinjiao(三阴交 SP 6)and Xingjian(行间 LR 2) were selected, reducing method was applied, and the needles were retained for 30 min.The treatment was performed once a day,and treatment for 15 consecutive days were the 1st cycle. The 2nd and3 rd cycles started from the 5th day of menstruation(for the patients still not menstruating, the 2nd and 3rd cycles started from the 29 th and 57 th days since the 1st day of treatment),and the treatment lasted for 15 days.Three cycles were needed. In the western medicine group,estrogen-progestogen was taken orally for 21 days(one cycle) to establish a artificial cycle. The levels of FSH and LH were tested and compared on the 3rd day of menstruation before treatment and after the 3rd cycle of treatment, and the adverse effects were analyzed statistically.Follow-up visit was conducted for the patients after treatment for three cycles, and the recurrence rate was calculated.Result The levels of FSH and LH of patients with functional amenorrhea were enhanced significantly through establishing artificial cycle by acupuncture and moxibustion. There was no significant difference between the acupuncture-moxibustion group and the western medication group in effective rate(P〉0.05);but the adverse effect rate(1.49%) and recurrence rate(25.0%) of the acupuncture-moxibustion group were lower than that of the western medication group(with the adverse effect rate of 4.14%,and recurrence rate of 69.8%)(both P〈0.05).Conclusion The levels of FSH and LH of patients with functional amenorrhea can be enhanced significantly through establishing artificial cycle by acupuncture and moxibustion. The efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion in treatment of functional amenorrhea by establishing artificial cycle is equivalent to that of oral administration of estrogen-progestogen in treatment of functional amenorrhea by establishing artificial cycle, but the adverse effect rate and recurrence rate of acupuncture and moxibustion group are lower.
文摘Objective To observe the early rehabilitation effects of acupuncture on brain arousal in patients with severe craniocerebral injury. Conclusion On the basis of conventional treatment, early application of acupuncture provides better effects on restoration of arousal function of the brain in patients with severe craniocerebral injury than functional electrical stimulation.

文摘Objective To observe and evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and Chinese massage on knee osteoarthritis and conduct the analysis on the functions of knee flexors and extensors in patients. Methods Eighty cases were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 40 cases in each one. In observation group, acupuncture combined with Chinese massage was applied. The main acupoints for acupuncture were Nèixīyǎn (内膝眼 EX-LE 4), Hèdǐng (鹤顶 EX-LE 2), Dúbí (犊鼻 ST 35), etc. In Chinese massage, gun-fa (rolling), rou-fa (kneading), na-fa (grasping), ca-fa (rubbing) and passive movements of joints were applied. In control group, Fenbid was administered orally. The efficacy evaluation, JOA score and the result of isokinetic testing were compared before and after treatment in two groups. Results ① The total effective rate was 90.0% (36/40) in observation group and was 87.5% (35/40) in control group, indicating equivalent efficacy between two groups (P0.05). JOA score after treatment increased remarkably compared with that before treatment in two groups (both P0.01). ② It was indicated in isokinetic test of two groups that peak torque (PT), total work (TW) and average power (AP) after treatment were all improved in comparison with those before treatment (P0.05, P0.01) and the improvement after treatment in observation group was much more remarkable as compared with that in control group (all P0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture and Chinese massage can improve significantly in the symptoms, the muscle strength of the flexors and extensors as well as motor function of the patients with knee osteoarthritis, which is superior to that achieved with Fenbid.
