Different concentrations of 2, 16 and 24 g/L NaAlO2 solutions and a silicate electrolyte (for comparison) were employed for the investigation. Wear performance and corrosion resistance of the coatings were evaluated by WC (tungsten carbide) ball-on-flat dry sliding tests and electrochemical methods, respectively. The results show that the coating formed for a short duration of 480 s in 24 g/L NaAlO2 solution generated the best protection. The coating sustained 30 N load for sliding time of 1800 s, showing very low wear rate of -4.5×10^-7 mm3/(N· m). A low corrosion current density of -8.81×10^-9 A/cm2 was also recorded. Despite low α-Al2O3 content of the coating, the compact and nearly single layer nature of the coating guaranteed the excellent performances.展开更多

Methods: HepG2, fetus and porcine hepatocytes were cultured. The viability, cell cycle and apoptosis, the leakage of LDH, AFP, total protein, glutathione and the changes on morphology of hepatocytes exposured to scP were investigated. Results: (1)Cultured in 10%, 30%, 50%, 100% scP for 24 h, the viability of HepG2 cells was inhibited (F = 40. 108, P = 0. 001). After 48 h, nearly all cells died except 10% scP group. (2)Exposured to scP for 24 h,the percentage of S phase of the cell cycle was significantly increased and apoptosis was also significantly increased compared to control cultures. (3) The leakages of LDH were increased in the HepG2, fetus and porcine hepatocytes following exposure to scP for 5 h. (4) The synthesis of AFP in fetus and porcine hepatocytes were inhibited in medium containing 10% scP for 3 d(t values were 8. 1902, 5. 1034 separately, P<0. 01). Exposure of HepG2 cells to scP within 24 h resulted in a decrease in the total protein synthesis and a increase in the GSH content. (5)Most of HepG2, fetus and porcine hepatocytes died in all except 10% scP groups after 24 h exposed to scP. Conclusion:scP can damage hepatocytes, which results from citric acid and sodium citrate contained in the fluid of blood maintenance.展开更多

The effect mechanism of dolomite on hematite flotation was investigated by means of solution chemistry, ultraviolet spectrophotometry(UV), inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). It is observed that dolomite with different size fractions has depressing effect on hematite flotation using sodium oleate as collector, and dolomite could be the "mineral depressant" of hematite using sodium oleate as collector. The reasons for that are concerned with sodium oleate consumption and the adsorption onto hematite of dissolved species of dolomite.展开更多

METHODS: Using a sandwich immunoassay, plasma levels of NT-proBNP were determined in 48 patients with chronic hepatitis C at baseline, wk 24 and 48 during antiviral therapy and at wk 72 during follow-up.RESULTS: Plasma NT-proBNP concentrations were significantly increased (P < 0.05) at wk 24, 48 and 72 compared to the baseline values. NT-proBNP concentrations at baseline and wk 24 were closely correlated (r = 0.8; P < 0.001). At wk 24, 7 (14.6%) patients had NT-proBNP concentrations above 200 ng/L compared to 1 (2%) patient at baseline (P = 0.059). Six of these 7 patients had been treated with high-dose IFN-α induction therapy. In multiple regression analysis, NT-proBNP was not related to other clinical parameters, biochemical parameters of liver disease or virus load and response to therapy.CONCLUSION: Elevated levels of NT-proBNP during and after interferon-based antiviral therapy of chronic hepatitis C may indicate the presence of cardiac dysfunction, which may contribute to the clinical symptoms observed in patients during therapy. Plasma levels of NT-proBNP may be used as a diagnostic tool and for guiding therapy in patients during interferon-based antiviral therapy.展开更多

Here, we demonstrate that selective photocatalysis can be realized by the assistance of gold-enhanced selective adsorption onto carbon-coated Au/TiO2 mesoporous microspheres (Au/TiO2@C-MM), which were prepared via a surfactant-assisted two-step method that involved the assembly of oleic acid-stabilized titania and gold nanoparticles into colloidal spheres in an emulsion using sodium dodecyl sulfate as a surfactant and the conversion of the surfactants into carbon under annealing in Ar. Due to the negatively charged amorphous carbon, the mesoporous structure, and the surface plasmon resonance absorption of the Au components, the Au/TiO2@C-MM shows enhanced charge- and size-selective adsorption prop- erties, which enables the materials to have high selectivity in the photocatalytic process.展开更多
