Anode Simulation and Cathode Design for Electrolytic Dressing of Diamond Profile Wheel

The design methods of anode and cathode are proposed for precision profile grinding. Based on the electrolytic machining theory, electrolytic equilibrium condition and Faraday′s law of electrolysis are applied to establishing the mathematical model of profile diamond dressing process- es. A finite element method (FEM) program is developed to solve the inverse boundary problem of Laplace′s equation. Desired anode contour or cathode shape is determined by computing the distribution of electric potential layer by layer. Electrolytic machining experiment is carried out to verify the simulated anode shape. The research result shows that shape deviation between designed cathode and profile wheel increases with the value of angle between feed rate and the normal to anode surface. The shape of simulated anode is consistent with the contour of metal-bonded diamond profile wheel for a given cathode. Based on the anode contour, cathode shape can also be designed accurately. 展开更多

Based on previous resehrch and the 63# bit matrix formula, a new non-smooth bionic impregnated diamond bit with a single circular ring was designed and manufactured, and also tested indoor. The results were satisfactory. During its shape contacted surface system, non-smooth shape display some structure merits such as decreasing resistance. It was obvious that the drilling efficiency of the bionics bit is much higher than that of ordinary's one, and so does the working life of bionic bit. 展开更多

With rampant growth and improvements in drilling technology, drilling of blast holes should no longer be viewed as an arduous sub-process in any mining or excavation process. Instead, it must be viewed as an important opportunity to quickly and accurately measure the geo-mechanical features of the rock mass on-site, much in advance of the downstream operations. It is well established that even the slightest variation in lithology, ground conditions, blast designs vis-a-vis geologic features and explosives performance, results in drastic changes in fragmentation results. Keeping in mind the importance of state-of-the-art measurement-while-drilling (MWD) technique, the current paper focuses on integrating this technique with the blasting operation in order to enhance the blasting designs and results. The paper presents a preliminary understanding of various blasting models, blastability and other related concepts, to review the state-of-the-art advancements and researches done in this area.
