Tolerance to Iron-Deficiency Stress of Three Apple Rootstock Species in Hydroponic System 被引量:3

[Objective] Iron deficiency is one of the most important crop element deficiencies in the Loess Plateau of northwestern China. The selection for crop cultivars that are tolerant to low iron levels could be one of the approaches to solving the problem and improving crop production. [Method] Three major apple root stock species (Malus prunifolia, Malus sieversii and Malus baccata) were selected to evaluate their tolerance to iron defciency in hydroponic system. A 3×2 factorial pot experiment was conducted with three replicates in a greenhouse at Gansu Agricultural University, Lanzhou, China. [Result] The SOD, POD and CAT activities in roots and stems of the 3 root stock species in Fe-defcient Hoagland solution decreased, however Malus sieversii got the less reduction and had better root architecture and growth than the other species. The aboveground biomass, plant height, chlorophyll content, total root length and lateral root number were correlated positively with iron-defciency stress tolerance. The species’ tolerance to iron-defciency from high to low was M. sieversii’s〉M. baccata’s〉M. prunifolia’s. Moreover, the improvement of some morphological features such as root length, above-ground biomass, plant height and lateral root number in apple could be conducive to breeding cultivars with tolerance to iron-defciency stress. [Conclusion] Malus sieversii had better tolerance to iron-defciency stress than the others in this study. 展开更多

Fe-based ionic liquid (Fe-IL) was synthesized by mixing FeCl3·6H2O and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride [Bmim]C1 in this paper. The phase diagram of a ternary Fe-IL, ethanol and water system was investigated to construct a ternary desulfurization solution for wet flue gas desulfurization. The effects of flow rate and concentration of SO2, reaction temperature, pH and Fe-IL fraction in aqueous desulfurization solution on the desulfiariza- tion efficiency were investigated. The results shows that the best composition of ternary desulfurization solution of Fe-IL, ethanol and water is 1 : 1.5 : 3 by volume ratio, and pH should be controlled at 2.0. Under such conditions, a desulfurization rate greater than 90% could be obtained. The product of sulfuric acid had inhibition effect on the wet desulfurization process. With applying this new ternary desulfurization solution, not only the catalyst Fe-IL can be recycled and reused, but also the product sulfuric acid can be separated directly from the ternary desulfurization system. 展开更多

BaFe12O19 fibers was prepared via an aqueous sol-gel process using Fe(OH)(HCOO)2 synthesized in laboratory and Ba(CH3COO)2 as the original materials and citrate as the chelate. The rheological behaviour of spinnable sol was characterized on rheometer, and the development of gel fibers to barium ferrite fibers was studied by IR, TG and XRD. Morphology observation of the fibers was given on SEM, and the diameter of the obtained fibers was between 5 and 10 um corresponding to different additives. The additives affected the surface tension of the precursor sol which had close relation to the microstructure of fibers. Sucrose and hydroxyethylic cellulose could improve the surface tension while diethanolamine and hexadecylamine reduce that of the decylamine as an additive, well-structured BaFe12O19 precursor sol. And using diethanolamine or hexafibers could be obtained. 展开更多

Estimation of Partition Coefficients of Fe-S Protein Models: Se Substitutions in Fe4S4Cysn

For FeaS4Cysn, the organi... The SCAP method allows a semiquantitative estimation of the partitioning of many solutes between numerous pairs of solvents. The organic solvent-water partition coefficients P are calculated. For FeaS4Cysn, the organic solvent-water partition coefficients for l-octanol Po, cyclohexane Pch and chloroform Pcf decay 4.46, 6.25 and 4.60 log units per Cys, respectively. The Po is of the same order of magnitude as CDHI (conformationally dependent hydrophobic index) calculations and Pch-cf as computations performed with a method by Leo and Hansch. The logPo-ch-cf mean relative errors are 17%, 25% and-17%, which represent mean and unsigned relative errors of -3% and 20%. On varying the number of Cys, the structures show hydrophobic moments indicative of amphipathic compounds. For Se substitutions in Fe4SeaCys,, Po-ch-cf drop 4.52, 6.30 and 4.66 exponents per Cys. With the reference calculations, Po-ch-cf decay 4.03, 4.80 and 5.76 exponents per Cys. For FeaS4 mSemCys4, the calculated similar partition coefficients and hydrophobic moments, and lower distance in dendrogram suggest a role of Fe-Se clusters in physiological processes. The analysis is extended to lysozyme and its secondary structures. 展开更多

Allylpolyethoxy carboxylate macromonomers possessing polyethylene oxygen long chains were synthesized by advanced technology of the polyether cap.A novel double-hydrophilic block copolymer was prepared through free radical polymeric reactions in aqueous solution and its performance on CaCO3 inhibition and dispersancy activity towards Fe2 O3 was evaluated in recirculating cooling water systems.The study shows that acrylic acid-allylpolyethoxy carboxylate has a significant ability to inhibit the precipitation of calcium carbonate and an excellent dispersing capability to stabilize iron Ⅲ in industrial cooling systems. X-ray diffraction shows that there is a number of vaterite crystals in the presence of the phosphorous free and non-nitrogen copolymer. The change in crystal forms is also confirmed by the Fourier-transform infrared spectra the scanning electron microscopy and the transmission electron microscopy. The inhibition mechanism is proposed and it shows that the interactions between calcium and polyethylene glycol PEG are the fundamental impetus for restraining the formation of the scale in cooling water systems. 展开更多

In this paper, they are enhanced by bentonite to improve their hydraulic performance. The impact of bentonite content and water content on compressive strength of the compacted soil was investigated. The effects of bentonite content, water content, dry density and hydraulic gradient on the hydraulic conductivity were studied in detail. For the laterite and the laterite with 8% of bentonite, the experimental results of hydraulic conductivity can be applied in the engineering design. However, for the loess and the bentonite enhanced loess, those of hydraulic conductivity can not be directly applied in the engineering design because their hydraulic performance does not comply with the Darcy's law. From the viewpoints of environmental conservation and energy efficiency,seawater-source heat pump system(SWHP) to provide district cooling and heating is applied in coastal areas.Based on the system,a heat transfer model was established for cast heat exchanger(CHE) adopted by SWHP systems.The CHE consists of pipes immersed in the seawater and used for transferring heat between the seawater and the heat exchanger pipes of SWHP system.An experimental study was carried out to test the validity of the model.A program was developed in VB language and the effects of inlet temperature,flow rate of the secondary refrigerant and length of CHE on the results were investigated.The results of the numerical simulation are in consistence with the experiments in both winter and summer conditions.As a result,application of SWHP systems with CHE in coastal areas in China is feasible due to the favorable geographical conditions and environment. 展开更多

Iron oxide particles with various shapes,sizes and phase concentrations(including--Fe2O3 and Fe3O4) have been synthesized through a simple hydrothermal method in the ethylene glycol(EG)-water system.In the preparation conditions,ferric chloride(FeCl3.6H2O) was used as the iron source in the presence of sodium hydroxide(NaOH) without any surfactants.By adjusting the experimental parameters(EG/H2O ratio,base content,iron ions concentration,etc.),the shape,the size,the phase and the magnetic property of the products could be easily controlled.The products were characterized by using X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and a vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM).A further investigation revealed that high EG content and high alkaline condition favored the formation of Fe3O4 phase.A possible growth mechanism was proposed based on the experimental results.The magnetic properties were deeply affected by the morphology and phase of the as-synthesized products.The controlled shape,size and phase structure of the iron oxides through simple synthetic procedures provides potential opportunities to realize the promising size and shape-dependent applications. 展开更多
