K ε model and SIMPLE ...In this paper, cold simulation experiments and numerical calculations are conducted to predict 3 D flow field aerodynamics for an oil furnace after being retrofitted due to its fuel variation. K ε model and SIMPLE program under body fit coordination (BFC) system, in which TTM non orthogonal method is used to control the irregular geometric boundary, are adopted to solve the control equations. Model tests are conducted to check the calculation results, showing that they are in agreement with each other. Three different alternatives with different side window locations are also calculated to optimize the designs. The field retrofitting results show that the combination of cold tests with numerical calculations has prosperous application in retrofitting or renewing medium and small boilers.展开更多

Three systems consisting ofbiomass boilers having a comparatively similar heat capacity and particle abatement units like multicyclons, electrostatic precipitators and flue gas condensers are compared. The main goal of the study is to evaluate the boiler plant as a system where solid particles are both emitted and caught. The results show that, the particulate matter can be efficiently trapped from flue gases by the particle abatement technologies, and the electrostatic precipitator with sufficiently large collection surfaces is able to provide appropriate flue gas treatment of the particulate matter in the biomass boilers also without pre-cleaning of the flue gas in multieyelons.展开更多

The influence of riser structure on the hydrodynamic behaviors of a high-density circulating fluidized bed was investigated. The solid circulation rate was up to 321 kg/(m2s) with the circular cross-section under the operating conditions of the main bed air velocity 12.1 m/s and loosen wind and back-feed wind flow 25.1 m3/h. Different operating conditions on realizing high density circulation was analyzed, while both solids circulation rate and particle holdup depended highly on operating conditions. The circulating gas-solid flow was accompanied by an evidently-dense character in the riser's bottom zone and became fully developed in the middle and upper zones.展开更多
