The relation of the total wave force on cylinder to the distance between the cylinder and orthogonal vertical walls and the incidence angle of wave is also studied by numerical computation.展开更多

METHODS: A novel rigid confocal probe (diameter 7 mm) was designed with optical features similar to the flexible endomicroscopy system for use in humans using a 488 nm single line laser for fluorophore excitation, Light emission was detected at 505 to 750 nm. The field of view was 475 μm × 475 μm. Optical slice thickness was 7 μm with a lateral resolution of 0.7 μm. Subsurface serial images at different depths (surface to 250 μm) were generated in real time at 1024 × 1024 pixels (0.8 frames/s) by placing the probe onto the tissue in gentle, stable contact. Tissue specimens were sampled for histopathological correlation.RESULTS: The esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine and meso, liver, pancreas and gall bladder were visualised in vivo at high resolution in n = 48 mice. Real time microscopic imaging with the confocal minimicroscopy probe was easy to achieve. The different staining protocols (fluorescein, acriflavine, FITC-labelled dextran and L. esculentum lectin) each highlighted specific aspects of the tissue, and in vivo imaging correlated excellently with conventional histology. In vivo blood flow monitoring added a functional quality to morphologic imaging.CONCLUSION: Confocal microscopy is feasible in vivo allowing the visualisation of the complete GI tract at high resolution even of subsurface tissue structures. The new confocal probe design evaluated in this study is compatible with laparoscopy and significantly expands the field of possible applications to intra-abdominal organs. It allows immediate testing of new in vivo staining and application options and therefore permits rapid transfer from animal studies to clinical use in patients.展开更多

Different color value will be obtained by watching the same surface point of an object from different viewpoints due to specular reflection, and the difference is related to the pos ition of viewpoint. The relationship between the position of viewpoint and the c olor of image is non linear, neural network is introduced to make curve fitting , where the inputs of neural network are only a few calibrated images with obvio us specular reflection. By training the neural network, network model is obtaine d. By inputing an arbitrary virtual viewpoint to the model, the image of the vir tual viewpoint can be computed. By using the method presented here, novel viewpo int image with photo realistic property can be obtained, especially images with obvious specular reflection can accurately be generated. The method is an image based rendering method, geometric model of the scene and position of lighting are not needed.展开更多

The calcite-made sclerites of the Red Sea octocoral Dendronephthya hemprichi have been chosen as a model for this study. Water droplet condensation on the sclerites has been in-situ investigated using Quanta 200 FEG (field emission gun) ESEM (environmental scanning electron microscope) under wet environmental conditions. Two different analysis methods of droplet top and side views have been applied to determine the contact angle based on the secondary electron images. The ESEM image analysis for the sclerites indicates that their surface is hydrophilic. The microscopic contact angle is measured to be 45.3°±6.3°. The macroscopic contact angle has been calculated by using the Wenzel model for the surface texturing of the sclerites.展开更多

The range of the traditional measuring method is enlarged by measuring in sections. Three independent CCDs, which are distributed uniformly along the optical axis, are used to achieve subsection measurement. The planemirror is regarded as a virtual detector. When imaging beam is reflected by the plane mirror, the beam is imaged on theCC D. The designed system is equivalent to add a CCD. The feasibility of the displacement measurement system is verifiedby the experiment.展开更多

Such a phenomenon is an interesting way of transfering entanglement. An expressions for the perfect mirroring of a single qubit contained in a spin chain were proposed in the past. We exploit such an expressions for calculating the evolution times in chains of both two and three spins. In the case of a chain of two qubits, we derive conditions under which the associated four Bell states diagonalize the Hamiltonian. It is found that for the two Bell states 丨Ф+) and 丨Ф-), perfect mirroring does not occur (i.e. entanglement is not preserved under swapping). On the other hand, perfect single qubit mirror effect (entanglement preservation) indeed occurs for the other two Bell states 丨ψ+) and 丨ψ-) which are mapped into 丨Ф+) and 丨Ф-) respectively. For the case of a chain of three qubits, the effects of a perfect single qubit mirroring on a set of four maximally entangled three qubit states ψl, ψ2, X1, and X2are studied. Due to the fact that quantum mirroring preserves maximal entanglement, the states ψ1 and ψ2 are not altered. However, quantum mirroring changes the states X1 and X2 only if we apply perfect quantum state mirroring in the site a = 1 of the three qubits spin chain. The above constrains the preservation of maximal entanglement under qubit mirroring of such a state. Due to the fact that swapping has already been experimentally tested, a posible, experimental implementations of single qubit mirroring is possible.展开更多
