In the control (the roots were not treated with 2,4_D), different distribution patterns of MTS were observed in the different growth zones of root tips. MTS of the cortical cells were randomly aligned in the zone of cell division. They were transversely arranged in the cortical cells of the zone of cell elongation; and obliquely oriented in the root hair zone. After treatment with 2,4_D, MTS displayed distinct changes with reorientation in the cortex of the root tip coupling with the inhibition of root growth. MTS changed their orientation in the cortical cells of the zone of cell division from being randomly oriented to transversely oriented when incubated in 1 mg/L 2,4_D for 1 h. However, they were recovered and became randomly oriented when the roots were treated with 1 mg/L 2,4_D for 24 h. An array of MTS, which was different from that in the control, was observed in the cortical cells of the zone of cell elongation in the roots treated with 1 mg/L 2,4_D for 1 h. After treatment with 10 mg/L 2,4_D for 1 h, the MTS in the cortical cells of the zone of cell division became transversely reorientated, but the pattern of MTS distribution was different from that in the 1_hour treatment of 1 mg/L 2,4_D. MTS were hardly detected in the same type of cells when roots were submerged in 10 mg/L 2,4_D for 24 h. When roots were incubated in 10 mg/L 2,4_D for 1 h, the MTS of the cortical cells in the zone of cell elongation became randomly oriented, and much more randomly when the roots were treated for 24 h.展开更多

Methods: The xenograft model was established using injected subcutaneously H22 cells into the right axilla of the mice. Each group was treated with different doses of GPC and Endostar. All these treatments were maintained for 10 days, and mice were sacrificed. The xenograft tumors in mice were measured. The proliferation activity level of H22 cells was determined by MTT assay, and the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) protein were examined by immunohistochemistry. Results: When treated with 50, 100 and 200 mg/kg of GPC and Endostar, the tumor inhibition rates were 13.17%, 23.37%, 36.15% and 14.71%, respectively. The tumor weight of xenograft was significantly lighter in high GPC group than the control group(P < 0.05). The ODs in GPC groups were 0.835, 0.666 and 0.519, respectively. The absorbances in middle and high GPC groups were statistically significant, compared with control group(P < 0.01). Immunohistochemical technique showed the expression of VEGF of the GPC groups was downregulated significantly compared with the control group(P < 0.01). Conclusion: GPC can inhibit the growth of hepatocellular carcinoma H22 cell xenograft in mice. The inhibition of angiogenesis by the down-regulation of VEGF expression may play a key role in the anti-neoplastic effect of GPC.展开更多

Instead of using a single pig, a number of (dividable) MultiPigs are mounted around the cable, exerting a distributed force resulting from the equally shared pressure differences over each pig. Because the capstan effect is reduced, the installation lengths are increased considerably, while pulling forces on the cable remain small. The MultiPigs can also be used for FreeFloating, flowing cable lengths to any desired location, loose from the cable insertion equipment. This is especially of use in difficulty to reach (for cable drums and other equipment) places, e.g. tunnels.展开更多
