Informative Property of the Data Set in a Single-input Single-output (SISO) Closed-loop System with a Switching Controller

Closed-loop identification is important and necessary to various model-based advanced process control strategies, whose performance depends greatly on the informative property of the data set. Switching control is an important method in process control. Therefore, this paper studies the informative property of a data set in a single-input single-output (SISO) closed-loop system with a switching controller. It is proved that this data set is informative if the controller switches among at least two modes (i.e., feedback laws). Our result does not require any assumption on the way of switch and removes the constraints on the switching manner required in some classical literature. Finally, simulation case studies based on a continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) process are given to validate the results. 展开更多

Based on frequency response and convex optimization,a novel optimal control system was developed for chemical processes.The feedforward control is designed to improve the tracking performance of closed loop chemical systems.The parametric model is not required because the system directly utilizes the frequency response of the loop transfer function,which can be measured accurately.In particular,the extremal values of magnitude and phase can be solved according to constrained quadratic programming optimizer and convex optimization.Simulation examples show the effectiveness of the method.The design method is simple and easily adopted in chemical industry. 展开更多

The paper is concerned with the stabilization of a class of coupled PDE-ODE systems with spatially varying coefficient,via state-feedback or output-feedback.The system is more general than that of the related literature due to the presence of the spatially varying coefficient which makes the problem more difficult to solve.By infinite-dimensional backstepping method,both state-feedback and output-feedback stabilizing controllers are explicitly constructed,which guarantee that the closed-loop system is exponentially stable in the sense of certain norm.It is worthwhile pointing out that,in the case of output-feedback,by appropriately choosing the state observer gains,the severe restriction on the ODE sub-system in the existing results is completely removed.A simulation example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多
