Moreover, there are concerns that patients with depression are not always seeking the treatment they need, in part due to the stigma associated with the illness. Despite of increasing public awareness of depression, the stigma has not lessened, but has changed in form. Previous studies report that depression which was once viewed as a special psychiatric illness is now viewed as a "common" mental illness. The author, too, believes that the nature of the stigmatization has changed in recent years to become more complex and ultimately continues to present a barrier to treatment for people with depression. This study aims to explore how the stigmatization has changed by examining one specific aspect in society that may have contributed to this change, namely, the media's portrayal of depression. The author presents and discusses clear examples of how the Japanese media's portrayals of depression have changed, particularly over the last 20 to 30 years, and discusses how media influence could have contributed to the shifts in stigmatization, with reference to labeling theory and growing social isolation.展开更多

We conducted a questionnaire-based study among construction workers in Yushu after a serious earthquake ; they were under reconstruction using a structured questionnaire incorporating International Headache Society (IHS) and AMS Lake Louise Scoring System. A total of 608 workers were enrolled after their first ascent to altitudes of 3 750-4 528 m. The results showed that 96 % reported at least 1 HAil(median 3.8, range from 1 to 10) in workers at a mean altitude of 4 250 m. The magnitude of headache was divided as mild(38 %), moderate (44 % ) and severe (18 %). This study indicates that HAH is the most common symptom of acute altitude exposure and closely corre- lated with altitude (r=0.165, p〈0.001). However, 52 % of headache was one of the main symptoms of AMS, while the other 48 % was the sole symptom of HAH. On the contrary we found that 2 % of AMS without headache, thus the "painless AMS" actually existed. The clinical features of HAH are presented, and the relationship between AMS and HAH is discussed.展开更多

Therefore, it is necessary to reduce costs and risks for the use of geothermal energy sources. Because most of the problems have to do with insufficient knowledge about the conditions in the earth crust, the key to take root of geothermal energy is widespread research. The cooling system allows the use of all needed devices in deep boreholes without strict time or temperature limitations, which promotes the achieving of comprehensive information. To develop the purpose-built components among conducting experiments about the thermodynamic processes, a prototype is provided step by step.展开更多
