In this paper, the reliability of the hydraulic system of a drum shearer was analyzed. A case study was done in the Tabas Coal Mine in Iran for failure data collection. The results of the statistical analysis show that the time between failures (TBF) data of this system followed the 3-parameters Weibull distribution. There is about a 54% chance that the hydraulic system of the drum shearer will not fail for the first 50 h of operation. The developed model shows that the reliability of the hydraulic system reduces to a zero value after approximately 1 650 hours of operation. The failure rate of this system decreases when time increases. Therefore, corrective maintenance (run-to-t^ailure) was selected as the best maintenance strategy for it.展开更多

The variance is derived for the number of atoms disintegrating in a time interval. The variance determines the error of the disintegrations number. When the measuring time is short compared with the half life, then the Poisson stochastics is valid. Today, computers can be used to determine either distribution very easily. The dependence of absolute and relative error on the measuring time interval is examined, but here assuming the absence of the background contribution.展开更多

We studied this process by using a record process approach under the assumption that the interarrival times T,, = Tn, - Ta-1, n = 1, 2...are exponentially i.i.d (independent and identically distributed). The goal is to test that the first observed events are sporadic events. For testing the hypothesis "sporadic" we used the non-parametric test based on the probability distribution of the statistic of the number of records N, among{Xx }k-1= where Xk = (ΔTk)-1. We showed that it is independent of the cumulative distribution of the observations and that it is exactly calculated for each n. We illustrated this statistic on a simulated trajectory and we compared it with descriptive smoothing methods. We studied an application to a data set as storms in France and US.展开更多
