In this report, the heat transfer performance of the pulsating airflow around the heating pillar mounted in the rectangular enclosure was investigated experimentally while changing the size of the clearance between the enclosure wall and the pillar. The pillar simulates the components mounted in thermal equipment such as fins and electrical components. The rectangular enclosure simulates an enclosure of electronic equipment and heat exchangers. The shape of the cross section of the pillar was square having sides 30 mm. The dimension of the width of the enclosure was changed from 50 mm to 80 mm. It was found that the heat transfer performance of the pulsating airflow became higher than that of the steady flow regardless of the dimension of the clearance. The heat transfer enhancement around heating components by the pulsating flow can be available regardless of the clearance around the components.展开更多

The results showed that (1) the MOEs of a simulated intersection approaches were indeed sensitive to initialization times; (2) the variation within MOEs reached a steady state with increased number of simulation runs, while CORSIM required at least 50 simulation runs, SimTraffic required even higher number of runs for congested approaches; (3) lane changing and gap acceptance parameters play a major role as a source of variation of MOEs (delay/vehicle) in CORSIM and SimTraffic respectively.展开更多

Clinically the method of tracing the first dorsal metatarsal artery around the space of the extensor expansion was used in 36 cases of thumb reconstruction. Results: The distal segments of the first dorsal metatarsal artery of Gilbert types I and II were located superficially to the extensor expansion. The harvesting time of a toe was shortened from 90 minutes to 50 minutes with 100% survival of reconstructed fingers. Conclusions: The distal segment of the first dorsal metatarsal artery lies constantly at the superficial layer of the extensor expansion. Most of the first metatarsal arteries of Gilbert types I and II can be easily located via the combined sequential and reverse dissection around the space of the extensor expansion.展开更多
