With regard to the errors made by the learners of English in Reading Comprehension by overlooking the communication purpose and the thematic idea of a text as the result of overlooking the Genre of a text,a considerat...With regard to the errors made by the learners of English in Reading Comprehension by overlooking the communication purpose and the thematic idea of a text as the result of overlooking the Genre of a text,a consideration is advanced about guiding the text comprehension with the theory of Generic Structural Potential.On the basis of it,a teaching mode is established which includes three stages.The first is to establish the Contextual Configuration(CC)and the Genre Pattern (GP)of the text.The second is to identify the Obligatory elements and Optional elements in a text based on CC&GP.The last is to give an outline of a text on the basis of Generic Structural Potential.Finally,this teaching mode is tested through a practical analysis of a text.展开更多
