[Method] With rice Zhonghua No.ll as the experimental material, the effects of DDC (SOD inhibitor) and Tiron (superoxide radical scavenger) on the root system growth, superoxide radical generation and root system auxin distribution in rice were analyzed. [Result] The growth and elongation of primary and adventitious roots were significantly promoted by DDC, while Tiron significantly inhibited the growth and elongation of shoots, primary roots and their lateral roots, and also suppressed the formation and growth of the adventitious roots as well as the elongation of their lateral roots. The superoxide radical was increased with the induction of DDC, while Tiron decreased the accumulation of superoxide radical. Increased accumulation of auxin in the vascular bundle and behind the elongation zone was observed in DDC- treated roots, while the treatment with Tiron resulted in a decrease of auxin in the same position. [Conclusion] This study indicated that the regulation of rice root sys- tem growth by superoxide radical was closely related with the accumulation and distribution of auxin.展开更多

During the sour gas absorption process, CO_2 significantly degrades the amine solvent and creates enormous problems for plant operation. In this work, CO_2 induced degradation of aqueous diethanolamine(DEA) solution was conducted in a 1.25 L jacketed glass reactor that functioned as an absorber and stripper at atmospheric conditions. Pure CO_2 was bubbled through the reactor until the solution became saturated. In this study, the concentrations of DEA used were in the range of concentrations between 2 mol·L^(-1) and 4 mol·L^(-1). In the degradation experiment, six generic cycles were conducted for each run. Each cycle was configured with the absorption and desorption of carbon dioxide at 55 ℃ and 100 ℃, respectively. Samples were collected after a predetermined experimental time and analyzed by ion chromatography(IC) to identify unknown ionic degradation products(DGPs). In the IC analysis, three different columns were used for anion, cation and ion exclusion systems, which are Metrosep A Supp 5150/4.0, Metrosep C Supp 4 150/4.0 and Metrosep Organic Acids, respectively. The major identified DGPs of D01 DEA2 M, D02 DEA3 M, and D03 DEA4 M are nitrite, acetate and ammonium. Phosphate product was found in the degraded amine samples which might be due to the contamination of water or chromatographic system.展开更多

Theoretical calculations have been carried out to study the mechanism for the formation of thioesters via O-to-S acyl transfer. It is found that the O-to-S acyl transfer occurs via an anionic stepwise mechanism in which the cleavage of the C-O bond is the rate-limiting step. The side reaction of hydrolysis also proceeds through an anionic stepwise process, and its rate-limiting step is the attack of the hydroxide ion on the carbonyl carbon. Increase of the chain length between the ester O atom and the S atom can increase the energy barrier of the O-to-S acyl transfer. On the other hand, substituents at the α-position of the ester can reduce the energy barrier.展开更多
