In the present work I have investigated the careers of other ensi governors of the Akkadian and Ur Ⅲ periods. The evidence from this investigation would indicate that many ensi govemors were promoted from similar positions as scribes when they succeeded to the positions of their fathers, and that their fathers had also been scribes and ensis, which means the ensi governors of these periods were展开更多
