PCA is used to extract the principal features associated with the gearbox. Then, with the irrelevant gearbox variables removed, the remaining gearbox, the hydraulic system and the wire rope parameters were used as input to a multi-class SVM. The SVM is first trained by using the one class-based multi-class optimization algorithm and it is then applied to fault identification. Comparison of various methods showed the PCA-SVM method successfully removed redundancy to solve the dimensionality curse. These results show that the algorithm using the RBF kernel function for the SVM had the best classification properties.展开更多

In accordance with the theory for rock beam breakage, the beam breaking position in front of the working face is specified. In addition, the formulas were developed for the velocity of the subsidence at observatory point A in front of the working face when the coal wall serves as the coordinate center and the advance distance at time t as the dynamic coordinate. In the application of the above-mentioned achievements to the practice of Xieqiao Mine and the mines of the Eastern Panji Company of Huainan Mining(Group) Co. Ltd., the results concerned with the velocity with which the roof stratum tends to subside before and after breakage as derived from the mechanic model are well compatible to the results based on in-situ observations and measurements.展开更多

A new Fast Independent Component Analysis (FastICA) approach to dimensionality reduction for hyperspectral imagery is presented. The virtual dimensionality is introduced to determine the number of dimensions needed to be preserved. Since there is no prioritization among independent components generated by the FastICA,the mixing matrix of FastICA is initialized by endmembers, which were extracted by using unsupervised maximum distance method. Minimum Noise Fraction (MNF) is used for preprocessing of original data, which can reduce the computational complexity of FastICA significantly. Finally,FastICA is performed on the selected principal components acquired by MNF to generate the expected independent components in accordance with the order of endmembers. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms second-order statistics-based transforms such as principle components analysis.展开更多

Apatite Fission Track (AFI) chronometry is widely used to study the latest cooling stages caused by tectonic process or by exhumation in the uppermost crust. However, uncertainties remain over timing constraints on thermal history of the Tianshan Mountains since the Cenozoic though a great mount of dating work had been done in this area. To address this issue, modern river sands from the drainage basin on the piedmont of the Tianshan Mountains were sampled to integrate regional information. Single grains were dated with the AFT method, and then different grain-age components were identified to provide thermochronological constraints of their sources. Combined with discussion of previous dataset, our results show the multi-staged rapid cooling cluster at 46-32, 25-24, 19-13, 8-6, and -3 Ma, respectively. We interpreted these cooling events as a result of interplays between the Cenozo- ic tectonic uplift of the mountains and regional climate change.展开更多
