The isothermal and non-isothermal oxidation processes were investigated by DTA-TG. Phase compositions and morphologies of the oxidized products were analyzed by XRD, SEM and EDS. The results indicate that the oxidation of TiN and O′-Sialon occurs at about 500 °C and 1 050 °C, respectively. After oxidation at 1 200-1 300 °C, a protective scale that consists of Fe2MgTi3O10, SiO2 and TiO2 is formed on the surface of the materials, which effectively prevents the oxidation process. The formation of a protective scale is relative to TiN content and apparent porosity of the samples, the amount of SiO2 and amorphous phase in the oxidation product. At the initial oxidation stage, the oxidation kinetics of the materials follows perfectly the linear law with the apparent activation energy of 1.574×105 J/mol, and at the late-mid stage, the oxidation of the samples obeys the parabolic law with the apparent activation energy of 2.693×105 J/mol. With the increase of TiN content, mass gain of the materials increases significantly.展开更多

With the increase of sintering temperature, the densities of the sintered pellets decreased from 5.54 to 5.42 g/cm3 and the average grain size increased from 4.1 to 11.7 μm. The breakdown field(E1 m A) decreased noticeably from 7138 to 920 V/cm with the increase of sintering temperature. The varistor ceramics sintered at 900 ℃ exhibited excellent nonohmic properties, which were 66 for the nonohmic coefficient and 77 μA/cm2 for the leakage current density. Concerning stability, the varistors sintered at 900 ℃ exhibited the strongest accelerated degradation characteristics, with ΔE1 mA =-9.2% for DC accelerated degradation stress of 0.85 E1 m A at 85 °C for 24 h.展开更多

There are two passive regions for all polarization curves. The first should be attributed to passive film formation due to Ti(C,N), while the second may be due to the presence of Ni. Corrosion current density increases with M02C content increasing, from 2.06×10^-3 to 6.70×10^-3 mA/cm2. It is indicated that the corrosion resistance of Ti(C,N)-based cermets decreases with the increase of Mo2C addition. A skeleton of Ti(C,N) gains is observed after dissolution of Ni. The inner rim of cermets, rich in Mo2C, is corroded along with Ni binder and is more serious with the increase of Mo2C content. The secondary carbide Mo2C can be oxidized and dissolved in sulphuric acid.展开更多

Based on single sintering process, six disk samples of (Sr, Bi, Si, Ta)-doped TiO2-based varistor ceramics were fabricated by sintering at 1 250 ℃ for 0.5-5.0 h.
