This paper examines the relationship between school principals' leadership styles, whether transformational or transactional, and teachers' achievement motivation. Using the quantitative methodology, a total of 320 heads of instructional departments were randomly selected from randomly selected schools. The results revealed that a transformational leadership style was prevalent among principals, and teachers' achievement motivation was positive. There was a positive correlation between the principals' transformational leadership style and the teachers' achievement motivation. Relevant recommendations are included.展开更多

The conclusions are as follows: (1) in educational production function, output elasticity of public educational expenditure exceeds private educational expenditure's. The degrees of contribution of public and private educational expenditure reflect that China should increase public educational expenditure. (2) regional educational technical efficiency is affected by both structure of educational expenditure and levels of regional economic growth. Primary educational technical efficiency of east, middle and west regions all tended to fall down during 2007 to 2011.展开更多

To extrapolate the previous findings and fill in this gap, this study aims to: (I) test the alleged superiority of GCRTs in grammar instruction and (2) explore learners' perceptions of learning grammar through GCRTs. To this end, this study used a mixed-method design including a quantitative and a qualitative dimension. The former dimension aimed at testing the superiority of GCRTs on a random sample of intermediate learners from Simin language school in Karaj, Iran through the robust Solomon-four-group design and the latter dimension aimed at collecting and analyzing qualitative interview data on learners' perceptions of GCRTs. The quantitative results clearly showed that learners being taught through GCRTs significantly outperformed those instructed through the traditional mode of grammar instruction and the qualitative analysis of learners' perspectives showed that the participants had a positive perception of GCRTs and this positive perception was rooted in GCRTs' potential to: (1) facilitate the internalization of grammar and (2) involve learners in discovery learning. The findings have clear implications for syllabus designers and practitioners.展开更多

There will be the theoretical research of Scaffolding Instructional Model and then the findings confirmed by the questionnaire. The subjects in the experiment is a group of 80 students randomly selected from the Grade Three at a senior high school in Yili. The questionnaire I presents that the students are on the close level of English listening. They are divided into Experimental Group and Control Group. The Scaffolding Instructional Model will be used on the Experimental Group and Control Group will take the traditional teaching method. After four weeks two groups will attend the listening post-test and questionnaire II. According to the analysis of experimental data, the Experimental Group would get better listening comprehension grades than the Control Group.展开更多

Reports in a book on randomized trials by Mosteller and Boruch are used as a benchmark. The initiatives have been driven heavily by recent governmental emphasis on "evidence based policy" in education, criminology, welfare and other sectors. This policy has been backed, in the US at least, by substantial investments in mounting randomized controlled trials to evaluate curriculum packages and programs in grades K-12, crime prevention programs, welfare, and other work. Accelerated growth in randomized trials has entailed cross discipline pre-doctoral and post-doctoral institutes and graduate education programs aimed at enhancing the quality in trial design, execution, and analysis of results. Specific illustrations of graduate education in this area of statistics are taken mainly from experience at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education and selected other institutions.展开更多

The methodology employed is a socio-lin some randomly selected urban centers in Cameroon for example, Buea, Bamenda, Kumba, guistic survey of etc.. The results suggest among other things: (1) that Cameroon is a highly multilingual country with over 280 home languages and (2) that while English is the language for Anglophone education, Pidgin English is actually the predominant language and the first language for most Anglophones. Based on these findings, the author proposes Pidgin English as the choice language for early education in Anglophone Cameroon (the southwest and northwest regions). Pidgin English is the only language which expresses Cameroonian reality. It is spoken by more than 70% of the population. It is the only language that is not associated with a particular tribe, religion, or with a specific colonial government.展开更多
