This method takes shallow syntactic parsing as the foundation, phrases or named entities as the labeled units, and the CRFs model is trained to label the predicates' semantic roles in a sentence. The key of the method is parameter estimation and feature selection for the CRFs model. The L-BFGS algorithm was employed for parameter estimation, and three category features: features based on sentence constituents, features based on predicate, and predicate-constituent features as a set of features for the model were selected. Evaluation on the datasets of CoNLL-2005 SRL shared task shows that the method can obtain better performance than the maximum entropy model, and can achieve 80. 43 % precision and 63. 55 % recall for semantic role labeling.展开更多

The 33 patients from the TG were treated with CCRT plus thalidomide (a 60-70 Gy of radiation dose, and 5-FU plus cisplatin; oral administration of thalidomide at a dose of 100 mg/d on the first week and 200 mg/d on the second. Both were taken with water, at bedtime until completion of the radiotherapy. In the CG, 32 patients received CCRT only. The clinical effects and tolerance to the CCRT between the 2 groups were compared.RESULTS The response rates of the therapeutic combination in the TG and CG were 87.9% and 68.7%, respectively. There were no statistical differences in comparing the response rates between the 2 groups (P 〉 0.05); the local control rates in the TG and CG were 93% and 91%, respectively, and there were no statistical differences between the 2 groups (P 〉 0.05); the 1-year survival rates of the patients in the TG and CG were 74.0% and 63.0%, respectively, without statistical differences between the 2 groups (P 〉 0.05). The improvement rates of KPS scoring in the TG and CG were 57.6% and 31.3%, respectively. There were significant differences in comparing the improvement rates between the 2 groups (P 〈 0.05). The incidence rates of nausea and vomiting were lower in the TG compared to the CG, with a statistical significance between the 2 groups (P 〈 0.05). However, the incidence rates of constipation, lethargy and fatigue were higher in the TG than in CG, showing a statistically significant difference between the 2 groups (P 〈 0.05). CONCLUSION CCRT combined with thalidomide in treating esophageal carcinoma may improve the quality of life of the patients, the treatment may also raise patients' compliance to chemoradiotherapy, and possibly increase their long-term survival rate. Further studies related to this topic are needed.展开更多

METHODS: This was a multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. Following a 2-wk treatmentfree baseline period, patients were randomized to receive either tegaserod (6 mg b.i.d.) or placebo (b.i.d.) for 4 wk. An analysis of covariance with repeated measures was used to determine the overall effect of treatment for the primary efficacy variable; the change from baseline in the number of complete spontaneous bowel movements (CSBMs) during the 4-wk treatment period. Secondary efficacy endpoints included other measures of response in terms of CSBMs, and patients' daily and weekly assessment of bowel habits. Safety was also assessed, based on the incidence and severity of adverse events (AEs). RESULTS: A total of 607 patients were randomized to receive either tegaserod (n = 304) or placebo (n = 303). Tegaserod treatment resulted in a rapid and significant increase from baseline in the adjusted mean number of CSBMs per week over wk 1-4 compared with placebo (1.39 vs 0.91, P = 0.0002). A statistically significant difference in favor of tegaserod was also observed for a mean increase ≥ 1 CSBM/wk over wk 1-4 (47.7% vs 35.0%, tegaserod vs placebo, respectively, P = 0.0018) and for the absolute number of≥ 3 CSBMs/wk over wk 1-4 (25.0% vs 14.5%, tegaserod vs placebo, respectively, P = 0.0021). Improvements in other symptoms of CC were also seen in the tegaserod group, including improved stool form and reduced straining. In addition, more patients in the tegaserod group reported satisfactory relief from their constipation symptoms. The frequency and severity of AEs was comparable between tegaserod and placebo groups, with the exception of a greater incidence of diarrhea in patients receiving tegaserod (3.6%) compared with placebo (1.7%). CONCLUSION: Tecjaserod treatment improved multiple symptoms of CC and was associated with a favorable safety profile.展开更多

The fluid transport is based on the deterministic method with dispersion effect. The result shows that the topology and the geometry of the porous media have a strong effect on displacement processes. The cluster size of viscous fingering (VF) pattern in percolation cluster increases with the increase of iteration parameter n. When iteration parameter , VF pattern does not change with n. We find that the displacement fluid forms trapping regions in random porous media with dispersion effect. And the trapping regions will expand with the increasing of the iteration parameter n. When r (throat size) and , the peak value of the distribution increases as n increases, where is the normalized distribution of throat sizes after different displacement-damages but before freezing. The peak value of the distribution reaches a maximum when and , where is the normalized distribution of the size of invaded throat. This result is different from invasion percolation. It is found that the sweep efficiency E increases along with the increasing of iteration parameter n and decreases with the network size L, and E has a minimum as L increases to the maximum size of lattice. The VF pattern in percolation cluster has one frozen zone and one active zone.展开更多

It can not be digested by enzymes in the body. It also helps to improve a digestion in the intestine, an excretion system and prevent the cancer. Jerusalem artichoke is scanned and analyzed by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) for quantity of FOS. They are selected for extraction and drying process. Studies on the extraction for a powder making, the conditions are optimum for maximum yield. Experiments manage using a factorial real 2 × 4 × 6 in 2 blocks of Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) models. The first factor studies on two types of solvent. The second factor is the four levels of temperature in the extraction with water at 25 ℃, 35 ℃, 50℃ and 60℃ for 30 min. The third factor is the ratio of sample per solvent as 5, 6, 10, 15, 20 and 30 times. The data and comparison of average is analyzed by Duncan's New Mutiple Range Test at the significant level 0.05. The concentrated extracts are processed to powder by freeze drying, a hot air and vacuum drying. Optimal conditions control the temperature and time by heating in both vacuum and conventional oven. The results of temperature on the extraction are significantly different at a = 0.05. In drying process with high temperature, the color of product is more yellow (b) and less white (L). The difference of color value is statistically significant at level a = 0.05. The sensory evaluation of food products are added the extracted powder and attribute by panelist. High level acceptance of product is aspectual about texture and flavor. FOS is the trend of functional foods for health. It is focus on low energy and on obesity including increasing the absorption of calcium.展开更多

The understanding of the diffusion behaviors is particularly critical to optimize the operation conditions, improve the chromatographic performance and design a new separation device. Many of the present simulations focus on chromatographic thermodynamics, and very few aim at the overall diffusion and separation process. In order to dynamically trace the trajectory of the diffusing particles and to perform simulations of the whole chromatographic process, we have developed a model based on the framework of random walk in the restricted space and performed the simulation of a single particle diffusion in the gas chromatography. The simulation parameters were determined by comparing with the experimental data. The elution profiles of n-alkanes under different flow rates were accurately simulated with the method. The results show that the relative difference between the measures and the simulations are less than 2% and 10% for the retention time and the peak width, respectively. The simulation method shows great significance for the optimization of separation conditions and the development of novel technologies of chromatographic separation.展开更多
