A novel magnetic integrated controllable reactor of transformer type(CRT)has the advantages of simple structure,flexible assembly,convenient maintenance and practicability.To analyze its operation characteristics accu...A novel magnetic integrated controllable reactor of transformer type(CRT)has the advantages of simple structure,flexible assembly,convenient maintenance and practicability.To analyze its operation characteristics accurately,we establish corresponding equivalent mathematical model considering magnetic leakage based on magnetic circuit and circuit dualistic transformation method.The distribution of magnetic leakage field of each winding is analyzed qualitatively,and the analytical calculation formulas of magnetizing inductance and leakage inductance of each winding are derived.Based on this,the analytical calculation formulas of short-circuit impedance and winding current of CRT under different working conditions are derived.The field-circuit coupling finite element model of the magnetic integrated CRT is established to simulate the current of each winding under different working conditions.The results show that the analytical calculation results of each winding current have good consistency with the finite element calculation results,indicating the validity of CRT equivalent mathematical model and correctness of the analytical formulas of leakage inductance,short-circuit impedance and winding current of CRT.The working winding current of CRT is increasing gradually with the operation of control winding in turn to realise the transition of CRT compensation capacity from zero to a rated value.展开更多

Support the European Agro-food industry to be a worldwide leader in the supply of high quality and safe food products. The relevance of agro-food industry is not only related to its importance in European economy but also is consequence of increase awareness concerning to the necessity of producing high quality and safe products. The implementation of the new technologies in agro-food domain, enabling adequate combination of traditional products and modern management processes will definitively contribute to produce high quality and safe products. Increase the level of involvement of consumers in the agro-food value chain by means of the wide adoption of relevant IC Technologies and applications. The agro-food sector is very much a consumer driven sector. However, in order to realise the full participation of citizens in the whole agro-food supply chain, further developments in ICTs are required. The incorporation of ICT tools will greatly contribute to achieving a deeper integration, communication and information flow between the different stakeholders in the supply chain, from "fork to farm", from farmers to consumers. Therefore, in first place the objective of the work is to analyze the opportunities offered by the ICT to implement the systems of traceability in the food system. As a result, implanted electronic devices can irritate and damage...Most biological tissues are supple and elastic, while current electronic devices fabricated by semiconductors and metals are usually stiff and brittle. As a result, implanted electronic devices can irritate and damage surrounding tissues, causing immune reaction and scarring. In this work, we develop stretchable microelectrode arrays, with the development of a novel soft lithography technology, which are designed and fabricated with a polymer/stretchable metal/polymer sandwich structure. With the great deformability of stretch, compression, bend and twisting, while preserving electrical property, this technology overcomes the fundamental mismatch of mechanical properties between biological tissues and electronic devices, and provides highly-compliant, confonnal and stretchable bio-electronic interfaces. Here we also describe the following three applications of the stretchable electrode arrays: a. monitoring intracranial electroencephalography (EEG); b. stimulating peripheral nerves to drive muscles; c. monitoring epicardial electrocardiography (ECG). Stretchable microelectrode arrays create a promising field in biomedical applications for its better modulus match with biological tissues and robust mechanical and electrical properties. They allow for construction of electronic integrated circuits spread over on complex and dynamic curved surfaces, providing a much friendlier bio-electronic interface for diagnosis, treatment and in- telligent bio-control.展开更多

The paper includes studies of a typical multi section distribution network to demonstrate the principle of the scheme. To determine the degree of oxidation in vegetable oil, a photochemical method using the electron spin resonance (ESR) spin trapping technique was developed, and the results were compared with those obtained using co...To determine the degree of oxidation in vegetable oil, a photochemical method using the electron spin resonance (ESR) spin trapping technique was developed, and the results were compared with those obtained using conventional peroxide-value (PV) and acid-value (AV) methods. Vegetable oil heat-treated were subjected to short UV illumination, and the produced alkyl-oxyl radicals were identified and quantified using the ESR spin trapping technique. ESR signal intensity was used as an indicator of oil oxidation, which monotonically increased as a function of the heat-treatment time. Commercially, available oils were selected and analyzed. The results were compared with those obtained using the PV and AV methods. The present method displayed some analogies with the PV method at least in the early stage of heating. Overall, the present method had highly sensitive and capable of detecting early-stage oxidation in vegetable oil.展开更多

The simulation and experiment are done to match the design of nozzle light. Nozzle light provides firefighters a synergistic function to spray the water and illuminate the fire field at the same time without requiring any extra hand to handle the light. It indeed increases both the efficiency of putting off a fire and the safety of firefighters. The most innovative benefit is that neither heavy battery nor utility wires are needed to get the lighting.展开更多

To tackle the challenge of heterogenous schema, an instance-based approach for schema mapping, named instance-based machine-learning (IML) approach was described. And to solve the problem of heterogenous instance, a novel approach, called statistic-based clustering (SBC) approach, which utilized clustering and statistics technologies to match large scale sources holistically, was also proposed. These two algorithms utilized the machine-leaning and clustering technology to improve the accuracy. Experimental analysis shows that the IML approach is more precise than SBC approach, reaching at least precision of 81% and recall rate of 82%. Simulation studies further show that SBC can tackle large scale sources holisticalty with 85% recall rate when there are 38 data sources.展开更多

Various techniques were proposed to reduce the leakage power at nano-scale; one of these techniques is MTV (multi-threshold voltage) In this paper, the exact and optimal value of threshold voltage (Vth) for each transistor in any sequential circuit in the design is found, so that the value of the total leakage current in the design is at the minimum. This could be achieved by applying AI (artificial intelligence) search algorithm. The proposed algorithm is called LOAIS (leakage optimization using AI search). LOAIS exploits the total slack time of each transistor's location and their contributions in the leakage current. It is introduced by AI heuristic search algorithms under 22 nm BSIM4 predictive technology model. The proposed approach saves around 80% of the sub-threshold leakage current without degrading the performance of the circuit.展开更多

Conventionally, these are built and used separately as discrete components. Herein, we propose a simple and cost-effective laser engraving technique for fabricating a flexible self-charging micro-supercapacitor power unit (SCMPU), by integrating a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) and a micro-supercapacitor (MSC) array into a single device. The SCMPU can be charged directly by ambient mechanical motion. We demonstrate the ability of the SCMPU to continuously power light-emitting diodes and a commercial hygrothermograph. This inves- tigation may promote the development of sustainable self-powered systems and provide a promising new research application for supercapacitors.展开更多
