This paper documents the works and lives of selected visual artists from Panay provinces. The selection of the artist was based on meeting at least two of the following criteria: (1) The artist should have a major award(s) in any prestigious national fine arts contests which included the MADE (Metrobank Art and Design Excellence), A.AP (Art Association of the Philippines), Petron, GSIS (Government Service Insurance System), and the Biennial Dumaguete Open Terra Cotta Festival contests; (2) He/she should have had one-man or two-man exhibitions at reputed galleries; and (3) He/she should be active in the local art scene, meaning, a continuous schedule of exhibits during the past three years. Mostly self-taught, the artists' artistic inclinations manifested early in childhood when they discovered their talents; this led to their resolve to seriously pursue with enduring fervor their art careers. Their sense of calling amid a less ideal art scene did not give way to the voice of conformity but they have maintained a clear sense of identity and destiny as inspiring art icons in their milieu. The analyses of the works of these artists lead to the observation of the Panayanon artistic tradition. Aside from the formalist descriptions of the artworks' features, the analyses go further into the contextual and evaluative levels that reveal a highly nuanced meaning and semantic richness of the works. The paintings and sculptural pieces of the artists are expressions of their true "voices", fresh innovations that have earned accolades even if these innovations are untamed by the academe 展开更多

花生是本县的主要特产,绝大多数栽培在山沟薄地的沙质土壤,近年由于政府号召扩大油料作物的种植。泊区及黄泥土地也渐有栽培的。农民根据不同的条件,采用不同的栽培方法,一般是肥沃土地习惯实行垅作,瘠薄沙地习惯平作。播种密度各地不一... 花生是本县的主要特产,绝大多数栽培在山沟薄地的沙质土壤,近年由于政府号召扩大油料作物的种植。泊区及黄泥土地也渐有栽培的。农民根据不同的条件,采用不同的栽培方法,一般是肥沃土地习惯实行垅作,瘠薄沙地习惯平作。播种密度各地不一,笔者曾在第十三区郭家乡一带实测,山地平作花生(一般是墩花生)行距1尺,墩距0.8尺(每墩两株)。垅作垅距1.8尺,墩距0.8尺,蔓生品种垅距相同,唯墩距0.9-1尺。第一区富贵乡一带,垅作花生垅距1.5尺,墩距0.9-1尺。第六区大水镇一带泊区垅作,垅距2尺,墩距0.9-1尺;平作行距1尺。 展开更多

A liquid metal enabled corrosion sculpture technique for quickly fabricating complex pattems on aluminum substrate is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. According to the conceptual investigation, it is clarified that the width and the depth of a printed track are dominated by sculpture time and working temperature. The printed size can reach small values of 38 μm through controlling the sculpture time for 60 s. As the sculpture time was increased from 5 to 25 rain at 20℃, the depth of the fabricated pattern was improved from 13.3 to 25.6 μm. The sculptured depth of the pattern would increase from 13.3 to 106.9 μm when the sculpture time was fixed at 5 min and the temperature was raised from 20 to 60℃. To investigate the sculpture behavior in detail, the phases and microstructure of sculpture surface were quantitatively measured via a group of microscope imaging system with fundamental mechanisms interpreted. The present liquid metal sculpture method on aluminum substrate adds a new valuable soft tool for current metal engraving technology family. 展开更多
