Variations in obvious form, stress-strain curve, peak strength, peak strain and elastic modulus with temperature were analyzed and the essence of rock failure modes was explored. The results indicate that, compared with granite after the high temperature treatment, the brittle-ductile transition critical temperature is lower, the densification stage is longer, the elastic modulus is smaller and the damage is larger under high temperature. In addition, the peak stress is lower and the peak strain is greater, but both of them change more obviously with the increase of temperature compared with that of granite after the high temperature treatment. Furthermore, the failure modes of granite after the high temperature treatment and under high temperature show a remarkable difference. Below 100 ℃, the failure modes of granite under both conditions are the same, presenting splitting failure. However, after 100 ℃, the failure modes of granite after the high temperature treatment and under high temperature present splitting failure and shear failure, respectively.展开更多

Results showed that the dynamic and static MOE of bluestained wood were higher than those of non-bluestained wood. The significant differences in dynamic MOE and static MOE were found between bulestained and non-bluestained wood, of which, the difference in each of three dynamic MOE (Ep. the ultrasonic wave modulus of elasticity, Ems, the stress wave modulus of elasticity and El, the longitudinal wave modulus of elasticity) between bulestained and non-bluestained wood arrived at the 0.01 significance level, whereas that in the static MOE at the 0.05 significance level. The differences in MOE between bulestained and non-bluestained wood were induced by the variation between sapwood and heartwood and the different densities of bulestained and non-bluestained wood. The correlation between dynamic MOE and static MOE was statistically significant at the 0.01 significance level. Although the dynamic MOE values of Ep, Em, Er were significantly different, there exists a close relationship between them (arriving at the 0.01 correlation level). Comparative analysis among the three techniques indicated that the accurateness of FFT was higher than that of Pundit and Metriguard. Effect of tree knots on MOE was also investigated. Result showed that the dynamic and static MOE gradually decreased with the increase of knot number, indicating that knot number had significant effect on MOE value.展开更多

The vibrational characteristics of fruits and vegetables are governed by their elastic modulus (firmness), mass, and geometry. Therefore, it is possible to evaluate firmness of fruits and vegetables based on their vibrational characteristics. Analysis of the vibration responses of a fruit is suggested for measuring elastic properties (Firmness) non-destructively. The impulse response method is often used to measure firmness of fruits. METHODS: SAP model was produced by intraductal injection of sodium taurocholate [4%, 1 mL/kg body weight (BW)] and trypsin (2 U/kg BW). Animals were allocated either to untreated controls as group 1 or to one of two treatment groups as group 2 receiving a low-volume CVVH [20 mL/(kg·h)], and group 3 receiving a high-volume CVVH [100 (mL/kg·h)]. Swan-Ganz catheter was inserted during the operation. Heart rate, arterial blood pressure, cardiac output, mean pulmonary arterial pressure, pulmonary arterial wedge pressure, central venous pressure, systemic vascular resistance, oxygen delivery, oxygen consumption, oxygen extraction ratio, as well as survival of pigs were evaluated in the study. RESULTS: Survival time was significantly prolonged by low-volume and high-volume CVVHs, which was more pronounced in the latter. High-volume CVVH was significantly superior compared with less intensive treatment modalities (low-volume CVVH) in systemic inflammatory reaction protection. The major hemodynamic finding was that pancreatitis-induced hypotension was significantly attenuated by intensive CVVH (87.4±12.5 kPa vs116.3±7.8 kPa,P<0.01). The development of hyperdynamic circulatory failure was simultaneously attenuated, as reflected by a limited increase in cardiac output, an attenuated decrease in systemic vascular resistance and an elevation in oxygen extraction ratio. Even in very developed medical centers, this disorder is still one of the most important misdiagnoses of clinical practice. To inexperienced physicians, presenting esophageal varices and upper gastrointestinal bleeding usually prompt an unfortunate diagnosis of cirrhosis. A heterogenous clinical presentation and progression of this disorder should be recognized by physicians, and management should be directed towards some specific problems confined to this disorder. Although a genetic basis and other factors are implicated in its pathogenesis, exact underlying mechanism(s) is (are) unknown. In this review, we discuss the heterogeneity of idiopathic portal hypertension, its etiopathogenesis, clinical presentation and management issues. With the expectation of an excellent prognosis, a practicing gastroenterologist should be aware that "not all varices mean cirrhosis".展开更多

The flow field of the gas film is established by numerical analysis of end faces of HSGLNMS. The distribution of gas film pressure and seal performance parameters inclu- ding opening force and leakage are obtained. Influence of operating parameters and sealing configu- ration on the sealing performance is studied. HSGLNMS has been designed and manufactured. Its working film thickness and leakage are measured to verify the theoretical analysis. The investigation results show that HSGLNMS demonstrates good speed adaptability, which means that the seal runs successfully with both low and high speed, showing excellent performance. The seal can be regula- ted and controlled online ; the opening force will not be raised greatly with the increasing of the num- ber of throttle orifices, but the leakage of seal increases apparently ; the uniform pressure groove im- proves the sealing performance, for example, opening force and stiffness are raised obviously. While leakage is reduced. Finally, the theoretical analysis is verified by experiment.展开更多

Structural analysis and aerodynamic...Composite wing static aeroelasticity was analyzed through a loosely coupled method and the effects on composite wing characteristics under different flight attitudes were presented. Structural analysis and aerodynamic analysis were carried out through finite element method (FEM) software NASTRAN and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software FLUENT, respectively. Correlative data transfer and mesh regenerate procedure were applied to couple the results of computational structure dynamics (CSD) and CFD. After static aeroelasticity analysis under different flight attitudes, it can be seen that lift increases with the increase of flight speed and the incremental value enlarges gradually in both rigid and elastic wings. Lift presents a linear increment relationship with the increase of attack angle when the flight speed is 0.4Ma or 0.6Ma, but nonlinear increment in elastic wing when flight speed is 0.8Ma. On the effect of aeroelasticity, the maximum of deformation increases with the increase of flight speed and attack angle, and the incremental value decreases with the increase of flight speed while uniform with different attack angles. The results provide a reference for engineering applications.展开更多

Magnetic coal-based activated carbons (MCAC) were prepared from Taixi anthracite with low ash content in the presence of Ni(NO3)2. The MCAC materials were characterized by a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), a scanning electric microscope (SEM), and by N2 adsorption. The cylindri- cal precursors and derived char were also subjected to thermogravimetric analysis to compare their behavior of weight losses during carbonization. The results show that MCAC has a larger surface area (1074 m21g) and a higher pore volume (0.5792 cm3/g) with enhanced mesopore ratio (by about 10~). It also has a high saturation magnetization (1.6749 emu/g) and low coercivity (43.26 Oe), which allows the material to be magnetically separated. The MCAC is easily magnetized because the nickel salt is con- vetted into Ni during carbonization and activation. Metallic Ni has a strong magnetism on account of electrostatic interaction. Added Ni(NO3)2 catalyzes the carbonization and activation process by accelerat- ing burn off of the carbon, which contributes to the development of mesopores and macropores in the activated carbon.展开更多

Now the departure from that approach is the focus on developing the Liapunov function for the nonlinear differential equations of motion. Static and dynamic equations of motion are derived and shown to meet the requirements of the Liapunov function. As a consequence, time integration parameters that are used in the discrete formulations are easily obtained based on the same requirements. The resulting generalized Newton-Raphson scheme is stable in the sense of Liapunov's direct method.展开更多

First, the sliding mass is divided into vertical slices according to this method, which is irrational to some extent in the seismic design of slope. Second, only peak ground acceleration (PGA) is considered, and the effects of shaking frequency and duration on slope stability are neglected. And then, based on the theory of elastic wave and the summarized geological model, this paper put forwards an improved method of pseudo-method by using the theory of elastic wave and Hilbert-Huang transform. The improved pseudostatic method gives reasonable considerations to the time-frequency effects of seismic wave and its rationality has been verified by the shaking table test. This method can evaluate the safety of a slope, the happening time and the scale of landslides. At the same time, this method also can improve the high accuracy of the evaluation of the safety of the slope.展开更多

文摘Acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding(UGIB) is a gastroenterological emergency with a mortality of 6%-13%.The vast majority of these bleeds are due to peptic ulcers.Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and Helicobacter pylori are the main risk factors for peptic ulcer disease.Endoscopy has become the mainstay for diagnosis and treatment of acute UGIB,and is recommended within 24 h of presentation.Proton pump inhibitor(PPI) administration before endoscopy can downstage the bleeding lesion and reduce the need for endoscopic therapy, but has no effect on rebleeding, mortality and need for surgery.Endoscopic therapy should be undertaken for ulcers with high-risk stigmata,to reduce the risk of rebleeding. This can be done with a variety of modalities.High-dose PPI administration after endoscopy can prevent rebleeding and reduce the need for further intervention and mortality, particularly in patients with high-risk stigmata.
文摘Idiopathic portal hypertension is one of the interesting causes of portal hypertension. With the expectation of an excellent prognosis, a practicing gastroenterologist should be aware that "not all varices mean cirrhosis".
文摘Gynura root has been used extensively in Chinese folk medicine and plays a role in promoting microcirculation and relieving pain. However, its hepatic toxicity should not be neglected.Recently,we admitted a 62-year old female who developed hepatic veno-occlusive disease(HVOD)after ingestion of Gynura root.Only a few articles on HVOD induced by Gynura root have been reported in the literature. It is suspected that pyrrolizidine alkaloids in Gynura root might be responsible for HVOD.In this paper,we report a case of HVOD and review the literature.

文摘The principle and characteristics of hydrostatic gas lubricated non-contacting mechanical seal (HSGLNMS) are introduced. Finally, the theoretical analysis is verified by experiment.

文摘Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia(HHT)is a rare autosomal-dominantly inherited disease that occurs in approximately one in 5000 to 8000 people.Clinical diagnosis of HHT is made when a person presents three of the following four criteria:family history, recurrent nosebleeds, mucocutaneous telangiectasis, and arteriovenous malformations(AVM)in the brain, lung, liver and gastrointestinal(GI)tract.Although epistaxis is themost common presenting symptom,AVMs affecting the lungs, brain and GI tract provoke a more serious outcome.Heterozygous mutations in endoglin, activin receptor-like kinase 1(ACVRL1;ALK1),and SMAD4,the genes involved in the transforming growth factor-βfamily signaling cascade, cause HHT.We report here the case of a 63 year-old male patient who presented melena and GI bleeding episodes, proven to be caused by bleeding from multiple gastric angiodysplasia.Esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed multiple angiodysplasia throughout the stomach.Endoscopic argon plasma coagulation was performed to control bleeding from a gastric angiodysplasia. The patient has been admitted several times with episodes of hemoptysis and hematochezia. One year ago,the patient was hospitalized due to right-sided weakness, which was caused by left basal ganglia hemorrhage as the part of HHT presentation. In family history, the patient's mother and elder sister had died, due to intracranial hemorrhage, and his eldest son has been suffered from recurrent epistaxis for 20 years.A genetic study revealed a mutation in exon 3 of ALK1(c.199C>T;p.Arg67Trp)in the proband and his eldest son presenting epistaxis.

文摘Composite wing static aeroelasticity was analyzed through a loosely coupled method and the effects on composite wing characteristics under different flight attitudes were presented. The results provide a reference for engineering applications.

文摘The role of Nil(NO3)2 in the preparation of a magnetic activated carbon is reported in this paper. Added Ni(NO3)2 catalyzes the carbonization and activation process by accelerat- ing burn off of the carbon, which contributes to the development of mesopores and macropores in the activated carbon.

文摘The definitions of generalized pseudoconvex, generalized quasiconvex and its stri ctly generalized convexity were presented for the static programming at locally star -shaped set using the concept of right-upper derivative and the concept of sub linear. The sufficient and necessary conditions of the static programming were d erived in terms of a generalized Lemma in this paper. The results obtained are u seful for the further study on the duality of static programming and cover many already known conditions.
文摘AIM:To investigate the systemic availability of budesonide in a patient with Child A cirrhosis due to autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) and primary hepatocellular carcinoma, who developed serious side effects. METHODS:Serum levels of budesonide,6β-OH-budesonide and 16α-OH-prednisolon were measured by HPLC/MS/MS; portosystemic shunt-index (SI) was determined by 99mTc nuclear imaging. All values were compared with a matched control patient without side effects. RESULTS:Serum levels of budesonide were 13-fold increased in the index patient. The ratio between serum levels of the metabolites 6β-OH-budesonide and 16α-OH- prednisolone, respectively, and serum levels of budesonide was diminished (1.0 vs.4.0 for 6β-OH-budesonide,4.2 vs. 10.7 for 16α-OH-prednisolone).Both patients had portosystemic SI (5.7 % and 3.1%) within the range of healthy subjects.CONCLUSION:Serum levels of budesonide Vary uP to 13-fold in AIH Patients with Child A eirrhosis in the absenee ofrelevant Portosystemic shunting.Redueed hePatiemetabolism,as indicated by redueed metabolite-to-drugratio,rather than Portosystemie shunting may explainsystemic side effects of this drug in cirrhosis
文摘The fundamental problem of an elastic-plastic body subjected to incremental loading is reviewed using a compact internal variable approach based on work carried out at the University of Cape Town in which a quadratic functional was developed for the free energy using Taylor series. The resulting generalized Newton-Raphson scheme is stable in the sense of Liapunov's direct method.

文摘traditional In this paper, two drawbacks pseudo-static method (vertical of the slice method) in the slope stability evaluation have been studied. At the same time, this method also can improve the high accuracy of the evaluation of the safety of the slope.
