[Method]The effects of Tartary Buckwheat ethanol extract on pentobarbital sodium and mice spontaneous action times were recorded. [Result]Ethanol extract of Tartary Buckwheat could prolong mice sleep duration caused by pentobarbital sodium (suprathreshold dosage),increase mice sleep number caused by pentobarbital sodium (subthreshold dosage),and obviously inhibit mice spontaneous action times. Sunitinib malate is one of the multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor,which are being used in clinic.It can inhibit more than 80 kinds of receptor`s tyrosine kinase,including epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR),platelet-derived growth factor receptors,vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR),etc.And tyrosine kinase inhibitor is involved in connection with the generation and progression of many kinds of cancer including lung cancer.Several studies have evaluated the effect of Sunitinib on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC),by single agent,continuous daily dosing or in combination with chemotherapeutics (with docetaxel or gemcitabine plus cisplatin),which all showed certain effect.The test of Sunitinib in combination with gemcitabine plus cisplatin for advanced NSCLC shown that at the maximum tolerated dose:oral Sunitinib 37.5 mg/day intermittently (Schedule 2/1:2 weeks on treatment,1 week off treatment) schedule with intravenous infusions of gemcitabine (1000 mg/m2 days 1,8) and cisplatin (80 mg/m2 day 1),administered in 3-week cycles,66.7% patients achieved partial responses.And adverse effects were mild to moderate in severity (grades 1 to 2).Therapy was generally well tolerated.In summary,all the evidence above suggests that Sunitinib may play an important role in the treating of NSCLC. 展开更多

Freezing processes of several liquids under static magnetic field(SMF) less than 50 mT were investigated. Central temperature of liquid samples held in glass test tubes immersed in a liquid bath was measured and collected. Nucleation temperature and phase transition time were obtained from freezing curves. Normality tests were performed for nucleation temperature of these liquids with/without magnetic field and normality distributions were justified. Analysis of variances was carried out for nucleation temperature of these liquids with magnetic field flux density as the influencing factor. Results showed that no significant difference was found for deionized water with or without SMF. However, differences exist in 0.9% NaCl solution and 5% ethylene glycol solution with and without SMF. Nucleation temperature of 0.9% NaCl with SMF is lower than that without SMF, while its phase transition time is shorter than that without SMF. Nucleation temperature of 5% ethylene glycol with SMF is higher than that without SMF, while its phase transition time is not modified with SMF. 展开更多

Methanol adsorption studies of electrified ACF by MD simulations

In order to clarify whether static electricity can impose a control on physical adsorption of polar adsorbates, MD simulations were carried out to study the adsorption/desorption behavior of methanol in the nanopores of electrified activated carbon fiber (ACF). Some special phenomena were observed from the MD simulations for methanol adsorption in a mesopore of electrified ACF. For example it takes a shorter time for the adsorbates to reach the adsorption sites on the mesopore wall, the liquid-like methanol is highly condensed, the methanol molecules have a unique distribution of space orientation, and the total energy of equilibrium state dropped a lot. These phenomena indicate the static electricity reinforced the interaction between the polar methanol and the electrified ACF, so that the intensity, stability and regularity of adsorption were increased, and thus we predict that the adsorption capacity will be increased and the adsorption process will be accelerated. When adsorption equilibrium was reached at room temperature, eliminated the electric charges and heated the system, the desorption tendency was evidently observed from our simulations at 60°C or so. 展开更多

Previous strategies for controlling the surface morphologies of polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)-based hydrogels,including freeze-drying and electrospinning,require a posttreatment process,which can affect the final textures and properties of the hydrogels.Of particular interest,it is almost impossible to control the surface morphology during the formation of PVA hydrogels using these approaches.The strategy reported in this study used the novel vortex fluidic device(VFD)technology,which for the first time provided an opportunity for one-step fabrication of PVA hydrogel films.PVA hydrogels with different surface morphologies could be readily fabricated using a VFD.By also reducing the crosslinking agent concentration,a self-healing gel with enhanced fracture stress(60%greater than that of traditionally made hydrogel)was achieved.Interestingly,the associated selfhealing property remained unchanged during the 260-s mechanical testing performed with the strain rate of 5%s-1.The VFD can effectively tune the surface morphologies of the PVA-based hydrogels and their associated properties,particularly the self-healing property. 展开更多
