Methods 9-NC ME was optimized in terms of droplet size and lack of drug precipitation following aqueous dilution using a pseudo-ternary phase diagram. Physicochemical properties of 9-NC ME were evaluated. 9-NC ME was intravenously administered via tail vein in healthy rats. Results A stable microemulsion was formulated consisted of soybean oil as oil phase, EPC/Tween-80 as emulsifier, and anhydrous ethanol as co-emulsifier. The droplets of the microemulsion were spherical shape with mean diameter of 38.3 ± 4.0 nm after 1:20 dilution with 5% glucose injection. The pharmacokinetic parameters of 9-NC ME after intravenous administration in rats were t1/2 of 0.97 ± 0.14 h, A UC0-8 of 372.77 ±49.62 ng·h·mL^-1 and MRT of 1.40 ± 0.21 h which were 1.4-fold, 1.65-fold, and 1.4-fold more than those of 9-NC solution (P〈0.01). Conclusion The results suggested that 9-NC ME was a promising drug delivery system and it was expected to provide a novel 9-NC injection for cancer patients.展开更多

Reactive power control from the power network side is simpler because little controlled object apparatus, such as STATCOM, is required. However, it is difficult to optimize the individual voltages of residential consumers because few data have been obtained by the power network side as compared with the power generation side. Energy loss at each residence with PV is different due to the difference in the grid-interconnection condition, such as distribution line impedance when the same operating voltage is set at all residences. Therefore, in this paper, the authors propose an advanced reactive power control method for residential PV systems in order to optimally control the voltage at individual residences so as to minimize energy loss fluctuation. The effectiveness of the proposed reactive power control is demonstrated by numerical simulation.展开更多

The mirror in the array can enlarge its rotation an- gles up to 90° and keep a steady state to steer the optical signal. According to the large-rotation behavior, an electro- mechanical model of the mirror is presented. By monolithic integration of fiber grooves and mirrors fabricated by a sur- face and bulk hybrid micromachining process, the coarse passive alignment of fiber-mirror-fiber can be achieved. The re- flectivity of the mirror is measured to be 93.1% ~96.3%. The switches demonstrate that the smallest fiber-mirror-fiber insertion loss is 2. ldB using OptiFocusTM collimating lensed fibers. Moreover, only about +- 0.01dB oscillating amplitude of insertion loss is provoked after the device is tested for 15min for 5-90Hz in the vertical vibration amplitude of 3mm.展开更多

To evaluate its electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in a static magnetic field, dynamic characteristics of a clapper relay in a uniform static magnetic field situation based on the finite element method (FEM) is studied. Influences of the magnetic field on dynamic parameters (delay time, pick-up time, end pressure, and final velocity) as well as a situation in which the relay cannot function normally are analyzed. Simulation reveals that the external magnetic field which weakens the relay’s air-gap field has a greater influence on the relay’s dynamic parameters than the one strengthening the field. The validity of the simulation is verified by measured results of coil current and armature displacement.展开更多

METHODS Idealized portal vein(PV) system models were reconstructed with different angles of the PV-splenic vein(SV) and superior mesenteric vein(SMV)-SV. Patient-specific models were created according to enhanced computed tomography images. WSS was simulated by using a finite-element analyzer, regarding the blood as a Newtonian fluid and the vessel as a rigid wall. Analysis was carried out to compare the WSSin the portal hypertension group with that in healthy controls.RESULTS For the idealized models, WSS in the portal hypertension group(0-10 dyn/cm2) was significantly lower than that in the healthy controls(10-20 dyn/cm2), and low WSS area(0-1 dyn/cm2) only occurred in the left wall of the PV in the portal hypertension group. Different angles of PV-SV and SMV-SV had different effects on the magnitude and distribution of WSS, and low WSS area often occurred in smaller PV-SV angle and larger SMV-SV angle. In the patient-specific models, WSS in the cirrhotic patients with portal hypertension(10.13 ± 1.34 dyn/cm2) was also significantly lower than that in the healthy controls(P < 0.05). Low WSS area often occurred in the junction area of SV and SMV into the PV, in the area of the division of PV into left and right PV, and in the outer wall of the curving SV in the control group. In the cirrhotic patients with portal hypertension, the low WSS area extended to wider levels and the magnitude of WSS reached lower levels, thereby being more prone to disturbed flow occurrence.CONCLUSION Cirrhotic patients with portal hypertension show dramatic hemodynamic changes with lower WSS and greater potential for disturbed flow, representing a possible causative factor of PV thrombosis.展开更多

Approximate analytical solution under the physical coordinate of multi-degree-of-freedom self-excited vibration induced by dry friction of piecewise-smooth nonlinear systems is derived by means of average method, the results of which agree with those of the numerical solution. An effective and reliable analytical method investigating piecewise-smooth nonlinear systems of multi-degree-of-freedom has been given. Furthermore, this paper qualitatively analyses the curves about stationary amplitude versus rubbing velocity of hands and versus natural frequency of hands, and about angular frequency versus rubbing velocity of hands. The results provide a theoretical basis for identifying parameters of the system and the analysis of steady region.展开更多

Although thrombotic complications in the venous system are common in patients with NS, arterial thromboses associated with NS are much less common. As such, the incidence, pathogenesis, and treatment of these patients have yet to be clearly defined. The formulation is based on a modified couple stress theory, the von Karman geometric nonlinearity and Reynolds equation as well. The model contains a silicon microbeam, which is encircled by a stationary plate. The non-dimensional governing equations and associated boundary conditions are then solved iteratively through the Galerkin weighted method. The results show that pull-in voltage is dependent on the geometry nonlinearity. It is also demonstrated that by increasing voltage between the silicon microbeam and stationary plate, the pull-in instability happens.展开更多
