History of alcohol intake was obtained from their clinical records and scored according to the High-Risk Alcoholism Relapse scale, which includes duration of heavy drinking, types and amount of alcohol usually consumed, and previous inpatient treatment history for alcoholism. All patients were assessed for eligibility for LT according to comprehensive criteria, including Child-Pugh score, Model for End-Stage Liver Disease score, and psychosocial criteria.RESULTSOf the 102 patients with ALD referred for LT, seven (6.9%) underwent LT. One (14.3%) of these seven patients returned to heavy drinking, but that patient was able to successfully quit drinking following an immediate intervention, consisting of psychotherapeutic education and supportive psychotherapy, by a psychiatrist. A comparison between the transplantation/registration (T/R) group, consisting of the seven patients who underwent LT and 10 patients listed for deceased donor LT, and 50 patients who did not undergo LT and were not listed for deceased donor LT (non-T/R group), showed statistically significant differences in duration of abstinence period (P < 0.01), duration of heavy drinking (P < 0.05), adherence to medical treatment (P < 0.01), and declaration of abstinence (P < 0.05).CONCLUSIONPatients with ALD referred for LT require comprehensive evaluation, including evaluation of psychosocial criteria, to prevent alcoholic recidivism.展开更多

This paper aims to maximize energy efficiency(EE) by joint optimizing sensing time and power allocation in multi-channels & multihops DF relay CRSNs under constraints on outage probability and sensing performance. First, we design a channel selection scheme for sensing according to the available probabilities of multi channels. Second, we analyze the expected throughput and energy consumption and formulate the EE problem as a concave/concave fractional program. Third, coordinate ascent and Charnes-Cooper Transformation(CCT) methods are used to transform the nonlinear fractional problem into an equivalent concave problem. Subsequently, the closed form of outage probability is derived and the convergence rate of the iterative algorithm is analyzed. Finally, simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve effective EE.展开更多

Large scale first-hand user-generated tweets motivate automatic event detection on Twitter. Previous unsupervised approaches detected events by clustering words. These methods detect events using burstiness, which measures surging frequencies of words at certain time windows. However, event clusters represented by a set of individual words are difficult to understand. This issue is addressed by building a document-level event detection model that directly calculates the burstiness of tweets, leveraging distributed word representations for modeling semantic information, thereby avoiding sparsity. Results show that the document-level model not only offers event summaries that are directly human-readable,but also gives significantly improved accuracies compared to previous methods on unsupervised tweet event detection, which are based on words/segments.展开更多

It is a play that has a historic, chemical and musical side that introduces the use of ICT (information and communications technology), such as Faeebook, Moodle platform, Web sites, E-mail, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Videos and Digital music. Results in the conduct of the students that participated: assertiveness, self-esteem, tolerance, cooperation, responsibility and teamwork, all of them significantly contributed a meaningful learning about the polymers.展开更多

We study simultaneous controllability of a pair of systems which model the evolution of sound in a compressible flow considered as a transmission problem. We show the well posed of the problem. Furthermore provided appropriate conditions in the geometry of the domain are valid and suitable assumptions on the fluid, is possible to conduce the pair of systems to the equilibrium in a simultaneous way using only one control.展开更多
