音艺,2005 Aliceon学术大会

媒体艺术Webzine Aliceon（WWW.Aliceonnet）在7月9日举办了“媒体艺术的新要求．音艺”为主题的学术大会。学术大会摸索了媒体艺术领域扩展的可能性和展望、对以视觉艺术为中心进行美术史以外的音的作用进行了眺望。大会的第一部分主题为“逐渐扩展的媒体环境和新感觉的必要性”．第二部分为“音艺的境界和事例．新接近可能性的摸索”为题全面展开了讨论。

＂Life Comes as Spring Comes, From All Sides＂1： Constructing and Reconstructing Silence in The Noise of Time

This paper focuses on a non-linear relationship between the course of one individual＇s life and its creative reshaping in the literary work of art as experienced in Julian Barnes＇s novel The Noise of Time. Contemplating a creative process of writing, the author seems to insist on a symbiosis between art and life. Writing about Shostakovich, he goes on challenging aWs ability to deliver a clear message about life： how to put what one has experienced into words？ A creative dialogue thus established between a non-speaking, extra-linguistic, and unique self and its verbal representation in literature is built upon a relational nature of the said and the not-said. Eloquent silence is employed to transpose one＇s life experience into the realm of verbal represenation. Focusing on the limits of verbal representation, Barnes＇ character in The Noise of Time similarly strives to grasp a meaning of the relationship among language, ＂silence＂, and liberation from the self. Refiguring silence as one of the most valuable narrative devices, the text challenges the illusory nature of historical time, of historical places, and of selfhood

The Study and Practice of Theory and Composition Among Women in Ghana

The performance and composition of traditional choral music were championed and dominated by women. Unfortunately, the involvement of women in the practice of art music, specifically theory and composition in Ghana has been observed to be absent or very minimal, the cause of which is problematic to identify. This paper examines why women have been passive in the performance and composition of this musical genre, and suggests avenues for improvement in the situation. Fifteen women across various musical genres： Traditional, Art and Popular were interviewed to ascertain this fact. The results will serve as an aid for an improvement of this unfortunate situation in Ghana.

The Tradition of the Joint Voice Singing in the Context of the Orient Culture （As an example of Margilan Singing School）

The article deals with musical heritage of some Orient cultures, joint singing as one of the main part of music art from ancient time to nowadays. The measure reflecting live process of national musical art is a performing practice. Makom is the most example of Uzbek classical musical heritage. The art of singing plays considerable role in culture of Uzbek national music. On the basis of classical singing the following singing directions as ＂Folk singing＂ （yallachilik）, ＂Classical singing＂ （mumtoz yallachilik）, ＂Grand Song＂ （katta ashulachilik） and ＂Art of Makom＂ singing forms were formulated and developed. Greatest representatives of Margilan School of singing.

Infamous Fame： Shaffer＇s Tactic in Amadeus

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the greatest musicians in the world, enchants people across eras with his fabulous music. Peter Shaffer, in Amadeus （2001）, depicts the mysterious life and death of this musician in a very different way. Instead of presenting an intelligent and refined artist, Shaffer, from the perspective of his rival, Antonio Salieri, gives us a ＂foul-mouthed, immature jackanapes＂ that shocks his audiences in the theatre. Lady Thatcher＇s displeased response after seeing the play tells the gap between Shaffer＇s Mozart and the Mozart image in most public＇s mind. However, the image of the vulgar Mozart, though a contrast to his music, lights up the uniqueness of his music at the age of Enlightenment. The paper, aims to analyze the difference in Mozart＇s music and the different Mozart character Shaffer presents in his play by drawing on Ren6 Girard＇s notion of collective violence and scapegoat mechanism. Also, the author intends to examine the playwright＇s intention and exegesis as he composes this mysterious musician in such a different way

A Study on the Artistic Dimension of Modem Chinese Popular Music

Generally, criticism on popular music is of both political and artistic nature. This paper is intended to investigate modem Chinese popular music in the artistic dimension. On one hand, through analysis and differentiation in light of the two persistent （and biased） conceptions, it is necessary to acknowledge the inevitability of popular music as an art. On the other hand, this paper aims to analyze specifically the ＂voice＂ in popular music in hope of presenting its unique aesthetic characteristics. Above all, a more comprehensive view and more diverse approaches are needed in the study of popular music

On the dual nature of the piano teaching in the music education in normal colleges

The piano teaching in the music education in normal universities can promote the students to feel the music, and improve the students＇ music qualities. The students can get the sense of the rhythm, the sense of harmony and the sense of pitch and other musical skills in the process of learning to play the piano, thus more accurate performing the music art. For the purpose, the piano teaching in the music education in the normal universities is for the purpose of cultivating the future piano teachers or performers. In this paper, the author carries out thediscussion with the dual nature of the piano teaching in the music education in normal colleges as the theme, in order to put forward some useful strategies for the piano teaching in eoUeges and universities.

The Effect of Art Music on Pompeo Coppini： Greatest Sculptor of Texas Monuments

Art music has the ability to communicate, entertain, and inspire other artists. Opera is a dramatic multimedia genre which fuses solo and choral singing with instrumental accompaniment, dance, staging, costumes, scenery, and libretto. This multimedia approach can inspire painters, sculptors, poets, writers, and other musicians in their works. Italian opera greatly inspired Pompeo Coppini--the Italian sculptor. In particular, scenes and arias by Verdi and Puccini correlate with specific tasks involved in the creation of a monument. In creating the Alamo cenotaph, Coppini often played Gioacchino Rossini＇s opera, ＂William Tell＂ （1829） correlating the sacrifices made by Texans for their independence at the Alamo （1836） with the sacrifices made by Swiss patriots in their independence from Austrian tyranny. This case study suggests that art music can enhance creativity and visual attention among artists of all genres.

Research on the Novel Pattern of Soft Music Creation based on High-Pitched Melody Element and Aesthetic Point of View

In this paper, we conduct research on the novel pattern of soft music creation based on high-pitched melody element and aesthetic point of view. Music is the music creation, music is a kind of creation and it is not a simple thing, because music is an expression of human thoughts and feelings which reflect the social life of an art. Music creation and other artistic creation need perceptual and rational psychological elements such as the creation principle of participation. This involves the music creation that the relationship between the perceptual thinking and rational thinking. Our research proposed the novel paradigm of art creation which will obtain significant meaning.

The Androgynic Pedagogic Approach in the Study and Teaching of Performing Arts in South Africa

For many years now, scholars or researchers have been advocating for an androgynous or all-embracing （multicultural） approach in teaching and learning of musical arts and other performing arts at universities, performing arts centres and other institutions. This article discusses the study and teaching situation of musical arts in South Africa, based on the research of nine institutions of higher learning. The major objective of this article therefore is to explore the extent to which South African institutions of higher learning and performing arts centres have incorporated the arts and culture of the historically marginalised people of South Africa in their respective curricula. From the results, it points out that music departments at South African institutions of higher learning have not yet fully transformed their programmes away from European models to programmes that affirm and embrace all the musical styles and genres practiced in the country. The article provides an advocacy for a strong androgynic approach in the study and teaching of performing arts in South Africa： the incorporation of both African indigenous and Western art forms in the respective curricula.

Music has often changed, from a social point of view, and also the relationship between music and the city. This paper attempts to describe how music changes under the impact of Internet. The milieu of musicians and the audiences are concerned. The economic model of music has not burst into pieces, but it has deeply changed. There is a trend to pure consumerism thanks to internet （probably the sales of downloaded music will become more and more important）. Also, independent artists can use Internet and have a livelihood （fat tail phenomenon）. Therefore the diversity of music can be preserved. Concerts （music in the city） allow escaping from the losses of money because of piracy. There are several experiences for listeners, which are possible, some of them involving going to concerts and festivals.

Peering Into Culture of Ancient Bukhara

Ancient Bukhara is the cultural and educational center of East which made huge contribution to a treasury of world art. Culture and art buildings were built in Bukhara and around its territory. Ancient Bukhara turned out as one of the biggest centers of Middle East in the period （era） of outstanding Somoniy （in the IX-X centuries） and Temurids （in the XIV-XV centuries）, particular, its developed literature, culture, architecture, and music art; especially, as being the capital of dynasty Mangits （at the beginning of the century XVIII-XX）, served as the groundwork of forming Shashmakom samples in groups. The Uncanny Kingdom--Perspectives on Classical Music as a （Wholesomely） Disturbing Experience

The purpose of the present paper is to suggest an uncommon perspective on the artistic heritage usually called ＂classical music＂. The large prestige of this repertoire, in fact, often goes along with a distorted perception of a number of very important features that tend to be underrated, discarded or not taken in the due consideration by the public. Only recently has musicology paid attention to the danger of this stereotyped vision of classical music, regarded as a sort of temple of seriousness, or as a kingdom where an alleged harmony reigns unchallenged. The topic of this article is precisely the other side of classical music, which also turns out to be a world torn by conflict and filled with artistic tension, where things do not always add up. To support this standpoint, a number of very well-known pieces are considered, paying attention to their less reassuring features. Thus, compositions that seemed to be familiar show a complex and disturbing expressive texture. As a result, a widespread listening attitude finds reasonable grounds for being changed： Instead of languidly leaning back into the armchair with closed eyes, the unbiased listener is requested by the music itself to keep its eyes wide open.

Analysis on the Homogeneities between Traditional Chinese Music and Painting Arts from Qichang Dong＇s ＂Theory of Southern and Northern Schools＂

Qichang Dong was a famous calligraphy and painting artist in ancient China. The theory of southern and northern schools proposed by him was a conclusion to traditional Chinese landscape painting art, and played an incomparable function in the traditional Chinese painting history in comparison with other painting theories. In the painting history, there were the theory of ＂pre-Dong＂ and the theory of ＂post-Dong＂ . In this paper, by starting from Qichang Dong＇ s ＂theory of southern and northern schoots＂ , the homogeneities between traditional Chinese music and painting arts are analyzed from the principle of spirit and the principle of technology, so that the homogeneities between traditional Chinese music and painting arts are explored in aesthetic concept and actual art creation.

Analysis on the Characteristics of Singing Liao Songs with Male Voice in Pingguo of Guangxi

Liao songs are the cultural and artistic products brewed by the people of Zhuang ethnic minority for thousand years. In this paper, the style and characteristics of singing Zhuang ethnic minority＇s Liao songs with male＇s two-part voice in Guangxi are mainly introduced through an analysis of vocal music and the study on the performance forms, singing language characteristics, and vocal music and resonance is mainly included, and also the important significance of singing Zhuang ethnic minority＇s Liao songs with male＇s two-part voice is discussed. Also, it is compared with the modern Chinese folk singing styles.

In traditional folk music research, when many questions can not be answered from the literature.Please go to the fields and go to the places where these folk music used to be or is being spread. In the fields, we can objectively record the traces of the artists ＇activities with words, images, or videos. After careful analysis and consideration of the folk tunes while they performed in musician＇s mouth and hands, we will get unexpected results.＂Hai Zhou Five Main Tunes （HZFMT）＂is a typical case. If you only look at the literature, it is only a local folk narrative tunes. It is not uncommon throughout the country. However, if we go deep into the field investigation, after comparison and analysis, we can see that some of the singles music is the art of Sanqu singing that did not disappear from the Ming and Qing dynasties. These tunes are not lost, but they are handed down from generation to generation in the art population. It is also an art treasure created by the salt merchant culture

Jacopo Tintoretto＇s Female Concert： The Realm of Venus

This study aims to visualize Giorgio Vasari＇s statement in discussing Jacopo Tintoretto＇s Female Concert of 1576-86, now at the Gemaldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden （see Figure 1）. Two conceits （concetti） are considered in analyzing Tintoretto＇s female imagery： （1） a fanciful invention of musica extravaganza; and （2） a Venetian allegory of bellezza. The first part of the essay discusses the provenance of the painting and the second part presents an iconographical interpretation of the imagery. This essay also focuses on the iconography of the painting based on viewing the subject and does not postulate on its iconography based on disappeared paintings or on a speculative decorative cycle on the theme of Hercules. Relying on well-documented research on music in Venice, on Mannerist practices, and on art theories during Tintoretto＇s life, some intriguing observations are made about the painting.
