The oriental thought pattern is considered ＂concrete＂, ＂man-centered＂, and ＂ordinal＂; while the western one is believed to be ＂abstract＂, ＂object-centered＂, and ＂conversed＂. These are the decisive factors for the existence of the differences in language expressing. It is of great importance to study these differences and make some adjustments in terms of syntactic structure, semantic focus, and time order so as to achieve a natural rending.展开更多

It's impossible to learn English without reading. So for many years, English teachers have been engaging themselves in the research of teaching reading effectively and they have proposed useful ways of teaching reading, such as bottom-up and top-down. Recently, the research in native English readers has shown that teaching of the text structure can facilitate first language reading. Based on the research in native English reading, the author carries out the research where top-level structure is applied to 'New Horizon College English'. The basic approaches in this essay are 'cause—effect' 'problem—solution' and 'time sequence'. The practice has proved that the application of top-level structure can guide the readers to build up the awareness of text structure and it can help the students overcome language and cultural barriers.展开更多

We constructed a time-based gene regulatory network of zebrafish cardiogenesis on the basis of a spa...We propose that locations of genes on chromosomes can contribute to the prediction of gene regulatory relationships. We constructed a time-based gene regulatory network of zebrafish cardiogenesis on the basis of a spatio-temporal neighborhood method. Through the network, specific regulatory pathways and order of gene expression during zebrafish cardiogenesis were obtained. By comparing the order with locations of these genes on chromosomes, we discovered that there exists a reversal phenomenon between the order and order of gene locations. The discovery provides an inherent rule to instruct exploration of gene regulatory relationships. Specifically, the discovery can help to predict if regulatory relationships between genes exist and contribute to evaluating the correctness of discovered gene regulatory relationships.展开更多
