AIM:To assess the clinicopathologic features and its relationship with prognosis of pseudomyxoma peritonei(PMP) in Chinese patients.METHODS:The clinicopathologic features and followup data of 92 patients with PMP were reviewed and retrospectively analyzed.The cases were categorized into three groups:disseminated peritoneal adenomucinosis(DPAM),peritoneal mucinous carcinomatosis(PMCA),and peritoneal mucinous carcinomatosis with intermediate or discordant features(PMCA-I/D).The log-rank test was used to analyze survival for each group and various clinicopathological parameters.Multivariate Cox proportional-hazard models were constructed to determine the important factors associated with survival.RESULTS:The median age at diagnosis was 51.9 years(range:22-76 years).The median follow up was 124 mo.The 3-,5-and 10-year survival rates were 74.0%,67.4% and 49.1%,respectively.There were 49(53.2%)patients with DPAM,26(28.3%) with PMCA-I and 17(18.5%) with PMCA.Patients with DPAM,PMCA-I/D and PMCA exhibited statistically significant difference in survival(P = 0.001).The 3 year survival for DPAM,PMCAI/D and PMCA was 97.0%,80.0% and 67.0%,respectively;the 5 year survival was 80.0%,67.0% and 50.0%,respectively;and the 10 year survival was 65.0%,28.0% and 14.0%,respectively.Survival rate was significantly lowest in patients < 40 age years of age(P = 0.011).Appendiceal tumor and extra-ovarian parenchymal organ involvement were significantly related to overall survival.Patients with appendiceal mucinous adenocarcinoma(MACA) showed the significantly poorer prognosis(P = 0.011).Multivariate analysis showed that pathological classification,age,appendiceal tumor were significant related to overall survival.CONCLUSION:The clinical process "PMP" should be pathologically classified into DPAM,PMCA and PMCA-I/D.Pathological classification,age,appendiceal MACA are survival independent predictors in Chinese patients with PMP. 展开更多

Systematical researches were accomplished on WC-Co with different Co contents(6%,10%and 12%,mass fraction).Based on the XPS and EDX,from orthogonal pretreatment experiments,it is indicated that the acid concentration,the time of the acid pretreatment and the original Co content have significant influences on the Co-removal depth(D).Moreover,the specimen temperature,original Co content and Co-removal depth dependences of the Co evolution in nucleation,heating(in pure H2 atmosphere)and growth experiments were discussed,and mechanisms of Co evolutions were summarized,providing sufficient theoretical bases for the deposition of high-quality diamond films on WC-Co substrates,especially Co-rich WC-Co substrates.It is proven that the Co-rich substrate often presents rapid Co diffusion.The high substrate temperature can promote the Co diffusion in the pretreated substrate,while acts as a Co-etching process for the untreated substrates.It is finally found that the appropriate Co-removal depth for the WC-12%Co substrate is 8-9μm. 展开更多

NaA zeolite membranes with 80 cm in length and 12.8 mm in outer diameter were prepared by our research group cooperating with Nanjing Jiusi Hi-Tech Co., China. The influence of dissolved inorganic salts and pH value in the feed of isopropanol (IPA) solution on NaA zeolite membranes was investigated. It was found that both factors exhibited strong influence on the stability of NaA zeolite membranes. A set of pretreatment steps such as pH adjustment and distillation of the IPA solution were proposed to improve stability for pervaporation dehydration. An industrial-scale pervaporation facility with 52 m2 membrane area was built to dehydrate IPA solution from industrial cephalosporin production. The facility was continuously operated at 368-378 K to dehydrate IPA solution from water mass content of 15%-20% to less than 2% with a feed flow rate of 400-500 L·h^-1 and an average water flux of 1-1.5 kg·m^-2·h-1. The successful application of this facility suggested a promising application of NaA zeolite mem-brane for IPA recovery from pharmaceutical production. 展开更多

Liquid film flow widely exists in industries due to its high thermal film is strongly influenced by the properties of the working surface efficiency and low flow flux. The spreading of the liquid A biomimetic surface with multi-scale structures inspired by the skin of a dog's tongue is proposed in this paper for the enhancement of heat and mass transfer. The spreading and flow behaviors of a gravity-driven liquid falling down the pre-wetted biomimetic surface are compared with that on the smooth sur- faces, via the combination of numerical simulations using the volume of fluid (VOF) method, and experimental measurements using high-speed imaging. On the pre-wetted smooth substrate, liquid merges with two droplets before the free surface of the liquid slowly develops into a parabolic shape. In contrast, on the biomimetic surface, liquid rapidly and uniformly spreads into a thin film which could effectively enhance mass transfer in both spanwise and streamwise directions. The characteristics and distribution of the microstructures on the proposed biomimetic surface are potentially to be used to guide the design of the surface in high efficiency heat exchangers and reactors. 展开更多
