To reveal the effect of ultrasonic vibration on flexible-die deep drawing, an ultrasonic vibration with a frequency of 20 kHz and a maximum output of 1.5 kW was on the solid granule medium deep drawing of AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet. The results revealed that ultrasonic vibration promotes the pressure transmission performance of the granule medium and the formability of the sheet. The forming load declines with the ultrasonic amplitude during the drawing process as a result of the combined influence of the "surface effect" and the "softening" of the "volume effect".展开更多

It was proposed to conduct the volume compression experiments as well as those on the NMG physical properties at high stress levels. Then, not only the volume compression ratio curve but also the extended Drucker-Prager linear model were obtained. In addition, through the friction strength tests, parameters of the Mohr-Coulomb model were gained, which proved in basic agreement with those of the extended Drucker-Prager linear model. Additionally, curves of the friction coefficients between the NMG and the sheet metal trader different pressures were also obtained. Based on the material performance experiments, numerical analysis in respect of flexible-die forming process with solid granule medium (SGM) was conducted. The die and device for experiments of solid granule medium forming (SGMF) on sheet metal were designed and manufactured. Typical parabolic parts were successfully trial-produced. The tests and simulation results show that the sheet formability is significantly improved for the extraordinary friction performance during interaction between the SGM and the sheet metal surface. The process control and die structure are simple, and the shaped work-pieces enjoy many advantages, such as satisfactory surface quality and favorable die fitability, which offers a brand-new method and means for processing and preparation of sheet metals.展开更多

Arabic gum (AG) was used as both the reductant and steric stabilizer without any other surfactant. By adjusting the reaction temperature, mass ratio of AG to AgNO3, and reaction time, silver nanoparticles with different morphological characteristics could be obtained. The products were characterized by UV-Vis, FTIR, TEM, SEM, and XRD measurements. It was found that temperature and AG played an important role in the synthesis of mono-disperse silver nanoparticles. Well dispersed and quasispherical silver nanoparticles were obtained under the optimal synthesis conditions of 10 mmol/L AgNO3, m(AG)/m(AgN03)= l:1, 160 ℃ and 3 h.展开更多

The reaction parameters of time, the molar ratios of OAm to OA were studied, and it was found that these parameters played important roles in the morphology and size of the products. Meanwhile, surface enhanced Raman spectrum (SERS) property suggested the Ag nanoparticles exhibited high SERS effect on the model molecule Rhodamine 6G. The morphological diversity of Pd nanoparticles is the combined effect of different Pd twinned seeds formed in the nucleation stage and selectively enlarging one set of crystallographic facets in the growth stage, both of which can be affected by the concentrations of CTAB. Through changing the concentrations of CTAB and sodium ascorbate, Pd nanoparticles with different shapes were obtained. When citrate ions were introduced to manipulate the nucleation and growth process, star-shaped icosahedra and nanorods with pentagram cross-sections were obtained. Pd nanoparticles with different shapes have quite different surface plasmon resonance and surface-enhanced Raman scattering properties.展开更多

The results show that the active friction between the granule medium and the sheet metal, as well as the non-uniform internal pressure presented by the solid granule medium, can obviously improve the forming performance of the sheet metal. The critical pressure of punch increases with the increment of the friction coefficient between the granule medium and sheet metal, as well as the plastic strain ratio, whereas it decreases with the increase of the material-hardening exponent. Furthermore, the impact on the critical pressure from high to low order is the plastic strain ratio, the friction coefficient, and material-hardening exponent. The deep-drawing experiment with HGMF technology on AZ31B magnesium alloy sheet verified the instability theory.Key words: hot-granule展开更多

We investigate a one-dimensional system with N barriers where both barrier height and well width are constants randomly distributed in certain range. The one-parameter scaling theory for nonrelatiyistic particles is still valid for massive Dirac particles. In the same disorder sample, we find that the localization length of relativistic particles is always larger than that of nonrelativistic particles and the transmission coefficient related to incident particle in both cases fits the form T~ exp(-αL). More interesting, massless relativistic particles are entirely delocalized no matter how big the energy of incident particles is.展开更多

The effects of the average sizes and the size distributions of MgAl2O4 particles on the dispersibility were investigated, and the microstructures, strength, and fatigue properties of MgAl2O4 particle-reinforced AC4C based alloy composites were evaluated. Tensile strength in the MgAl2O4 particle-reinforced AC4C based alloy composite was increased by using the classified particles. The fatigue limit at 107 cycles in the MgA1204 particle-reinforced AC4C-Cu composite increased by 27% compared to the unreinforced alloy at 250 ~C. Dislocations were observed in the matrix around the MgAl204 particle which resulted from the mismatch of thermal expansion coefficients between MgAl2O4 and Al, and resisted failure and caused fatigue cracks to propagate around the MgAl2O4 particles, resulting in extensive crack deflection and crack bowing which contributed to the improvement of fatigue strength.展开更多
