We construct the model based on the classical GL-model for homogeneous material. This system is coupled dynamic problem and the displacement field and heat field must be solved at the same time. By using Fadeo- Galerkin method, we proved that the problem we proposed exist unique weak solution under some regular assumption.展开更多

They are very local and they reflect a typical oriental and distinct religious sentiment, along with an underlying predicament or suffering because of some lack in their love life, both emotional and sexual. This paper will attempt to analyze how the short story written by Alifa Rifaat (1987) deal with the thorny issues Of religiosity and sexuality that might appear as two opposing poles, yet they mix and blend within same characters exposing different aspects of the human being living within dilemmas of personal needs and social dictates of tradition, taboo, and culture. For a non Arab reader, this should be an interesting and informative cross-cultural issue.展开更多

The performances of indigenous PR (rock phosphates) from Ma (Mali), Burkina Bu (Faso), Ni (Niger), To (Togo) and Senegal including that of Pa (Thies) and Ta (Taiba) were tested applying 200 kg.P2O5.ha-1 and 400 kg.P2O5.ha-1 once for three cropping seasons while TSP (triple super phosphate) was applied every season at 60 kg.P2O5.ha-1 and 120 kg-P2O5.ha-1. No P-fertilizer treatment was the control plot and WAB 56-104 was sown as rice variety. No significant difference was observed between the overall mean values of plant height, tiller and panicle numbers according to P-sources likewise for the grain yield when comparing that of 60 kg.P2O5.ha-1 (TSP) vs. treatments of PR while, the treatments Pa, Ta and To significantly induced greater grain yield than 120 kg.P2O5.ha-1 as TSP. Moreover, declining yield in the third cropping year was greater (75%) with TSP than for To, which was not significantly impacted by the number of cropping seasons. Applying 200 kg.P2O5.ha-1 of To was suggested as strategy for sustaining rice production on Ferralsol of west Africa.展开更多

The first example is from Sakhalin Island in the Russian Far East. It is connected with a construction of oil and gas pipelines through the mountainous terrain in Makarov region. The region has an active geotectonic history and is highly affected by uncontrolled erosion and extensive landslips. Basic principles of landslide hazard mitigation are presented. The second example is from a motorway construction in Azerbaijan. This motorway leads from Baku to Russia through a seismo-tectonically active area at the toe of Caucasian mountains and in some places is situated in deep cuts at the toe of high slopes. This unsuitable routing, together with seismic activity, led to a slope stability failure of a slope affected by recent tectonic movements near the village of Devechi. Stability conditions and designed remedy measures are presented.展开更多

The northeast Indian coals have unusual physico-chemical characteristics such as high sulfur, volatile matter and vitrinite content, and low ash content. In addition, many environmental sensitive organic and mineral bound elements such as Fe, Mg, Bi, AI, V, Cu, Cd, Ni, Pb, and Mn etc. remain enriched in these coals. Such characteristics are associated with more severe environmental impacts due to mining and its utilization in coal based industries. Environmental challenges include large scale landscape damage, soil erosion, loss of forest ecosystem and wildlife habitat, air, water and soil pollution. Several physical and chemical methods are reported in literature for the removal of mineral matter, total sulfur and different forms of sulfur from high sulfur coal in northeast India. This paper may help different researchers and stakeholders to understand current state of research in the field. Initiatives may be taken towards sustainable use of coal resources by adopting innovative clean technologies and by implementing effective control measures and regulatory policies.展开更多

Achieving the 1.5 ℃ target imposes high requirements on global emission reduction. Nationally Determined Con- tributions of all Parties are far from the 1.5 ℃ target, and conventional emission reduction technologies and policies will also have difficulty in fulfilling this task. In this context, geoengineering is gaining interest in the international arena. The Paris Agreement includes afforestation, carbon capture, utilization and storage, and negative emission technologies such as bio-energy with carbon capture and store. All of these techniques are CO2 removal technologies that belong to geoengineering. Solar radiation management, which is highly controversial, has also attracted increased attention in recent years. Although the outline of the IPCC Special Report on 1.5 ℃ does not include a specific section on geoengineering issues yet, geoengineering is an unconventional technical option that cannot be avoided in research and discussions on impact assessment, technical options, ethics, and international governance under the 1.5 ℃ target. On the basis of analyzing and discussing abovementioned issues, this paper proposes several policy suggestions for China to strengthen research on and response to geoengineering.展开更多

In Islam, human beings are made responsible at his/her best efforts in preserving the environment including practising pro-environmental behaviour. Due to strong pressures by Western public movements since past decades, the emergence of green products in marketplace has provided an alternative and better way of consumption in reducing adverse environmental impacts. However, little attention has been paid on relating green product purchase behaviour with Islamic teachings. Therefore, the paper discusses the role of green products purchase behaviours in reducing adverse environmental impacts and its relationship with Islamic teachings as mentioned in AI-Quran and As-Sunnah. Besides, the importance of green product knowledge in determining green product purchase behaviour is also discussed. Implications from the study would provide some insights on links between green product purchase behaviours and Islamic teachings as well as improving understanding on the influence of knowledge on pro-environmental behaviours both in empirical manner and as being outlined in Islam.展开更多

The study of biodiversity allows to initiate a multidisciplinary analysis and ecological reading of an environmental problem. The objective of this study is the knowledge of plant biodiversity and risk factors affecting the plant diversity in forest formations of Saida province (Algeria). Plant biodiversity is estimated at 77 species with 37 best represented families (Asteraceae, Lamiaceae and Fabaceae). The geophytes dominate with a rate of 44.15%. Among the degradation factors that threaten the biodiversity in the study area, the forest fires, overgrazing and trampling by domestic animals was mentioned.展开更多

During the turn of the centuries, YRD development is listed in the two major projects in the new century by Shandong provincial government. According to the plan, YRD will become an important energy, chemical and agricultural production base in 15-20 years. In view of its location and natural conditions, so far there exist a lot of environmental problems in YRD. Thus the principle of economic development coordinating with environmental protection must be implemented during YRD development. Forestation is one of the vital measures to cope with environment degradation. Therefore, strategies of forestry development and techniques of tree planting in different land use types are discussed in the paper based on site classification with specific problems involved .展开更多

By Duhamel's principle, the implicit expression of the solution to(ARC)is given. With the method of Green's function, the authors obtain the pointwise estimates of solutions to the Cauchy problem(ARC) for small initial data, which yield the W s,p(1 ≤p≤∞) decay properties of solutions.展开更多
