The new formula is then deduced in the space and named CDF CIECAM97s. The factors for lightness, chroma and hue correction in the formula are derived by linear regression according to BFD? METHODS: Experimental models of the small intestine constructed from paper in a variety of colors were used to simulate the background colors observed in CE im- ages. The background colors studied included very pale yellow, yellow, very pale magenta, light grayish pink, burnt sienna, and deep and dark brown, and red spots were attached inside them. An endoscopic capsule was manually passed through the models. The rate of detection of the red spots by the SBI was evaluated based on the colors of the models and the capsule pas- sage velocities (0.5 cm/s, 1 cm/s, and 2 cm/s).RESULTS: The rate of detection of the red spots byground color of the model (P 〈 0.001). Detection rates were highest for backgrounds of very pale magenta, burnt sienna, and yellow, in that order. They were lowest for backgrounds of dark brown and very pale yellow. The rate of detection of red spots by the SBI tended to decrease at rapid capsule passage velocities (1-2 cm/s) compared to slow velocities (0.5 cm/s) for backgrounds of very pale yellow (P = 0.042), yellow (P = 0.001), very pale magenta (P = 0.002), and burnt sien- na (P = 0.001). No significant differences in the rate of detection were observed according to velocity for light grayish pink (P = 0.643) or dark brown (P = 0.396). CONCLUSION: SBI sensitivity was affected by back- ground color and capsule passage velocity in the models. These findings may facilitate the rapid detection of bleeding lesions by CE.展开更多

Local image patches of the object and spatial relation between these patches are informative and stable during object tracking. So, we propose to partition an object into patches and develop a Spatially Constrained Colour Model (SCCM) by combining the colour distributions and spatial configuration of these patches. The likelihood of the candidate object is given by estimating the confidences of the pixels in the candidate object region. The appearance model is learnt from the first frame and the tracking is carried out by particle filter. The experimental results show that the proposed tracking approach can accurately track the object with scale changes, pose variance and partial occlusion.展开更多

In this sense, the creation of precise DEMs (Digital Elevation Models) of rivers represents an affordable tool to analyze geomorphic variations and budgets, except for wetted areas, where reliable channel digitalization can normally be obtained only using expensive bathymetric surveys. The proposed work aims at improving channel surface models without having available bathymetric sensors, by deriving dry areas elevations from LiDAR data and water depth of wetted areas from aerial photos through a predictive depth-colour relationship. The methodology was applied to two different sub-reaches of the Piave River, a gravel-bed river which suffered severe flood events in 2010. Erosion and deposition patterns were identified through DEM differencing, showing a predominance of scour processes which can lead to channel instability situations. The bathymetric output was compared to other previously-derived models confirming the accuracy of the in-channel elevation estimates. Finally, a discussion on the role played by longitudinal protections during the studied flood events is proposed, focusing the attention on the incidence of two major bank erosions that removed significant volumes of stable areas.展开更多

Feature analysis on images of the solution is conducted, which are captured from Pr/Nd extraction/separation field. H/S components in the HSI color space are selected as model inputs, so as to establish the least squares support vector machine(LSSVM) model for Nd(Pr) content, while the model parameters are determined with the GA algorithm. To improve the adaptability of the model, the adaptive iteration algorithm is used to correct parameters of the LSSVM model, on the basis of model correction strategy and new sample data. Using the field data collected from rare earth extraction production, predictive methods for component content and comparisons are given. The results indicate that the proposed method presents good adaptability and high prediction precision, so it is applicable to the fast detection of element content in the rare earth extraction.展开更多

For this purpose, the color parameters of Hunter L,a,b and browning index (A42o), and estimated values of chroma, hue angle, AE, Hunter a/b and a ~ b were examined. The changes in color of tomato samples followed both zero and first order kinetic models to describe visual color changes, and &E parameters followed first order kinetic. It was concluded that Hunter axb parameters can be used adequately to follow up the color change of tomato samples during the drying.展开更多

The formulations containing Fe(Ⅲ) are novel compositions not included in the commercial rutile pigments. The materials were characterized by XRD (X-ray diffraction) analysis and FTIR (Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy). The transition temperature from anatase-to-rutile was estimated by the evolution of the spectral patterns. This crystal phase transition is responsible of the color formation. A higher distortion of TiO6 octahedra is observed in the case of (FeSb) containing cells which contribute to the enhancement of the light absorption. The coloring performance of all the formulations were evaluated by enameling the mixtures containing 5% pigments and commercial frits representative of single and double firing industrial processes. The chromatic values obtained are in the yellow to brown domain of the chromatic plot, depending on the composition of the pigment-frit batch. In the case of the Fe-glazes, and particularly the combination (FeNb), the chromatic values are close to the best yellow tinting. This new FeNb-rutile pigment could be a more benign substitute of Cr-yellow pigments. The homogeneity of the enamels was confirmed by SEM (scanning electron microscopy)-EDAX (energy dispersive X-ray analysis) microscopy.展开更多

How such adaptive resemblances evolve is a classical problem in evolutionary biology. Mimicry is typically thought to be difficult to evolve, especially if the model and mimic produce the convergent phenotype through different proximate mecha- nisms. However, mimicry may evolve more readily if mimic and model share similar pathways for producing the convergent phenotype. In such cases, these pathways can be co-opted in ancestral mimic populations to produce high-fidelity mimicry with- out the need for major evolutionary innovations. Here, we show that a Batesian mimic, the scarlet kingsnake Larnpropeltis elap-soides, produces its coloration using the same physiological mechanisms as does its model, the eastern coral snake Micrurus fulvius. Therefore, precise color mimicry may have been able to evolve easily in this system. Generally, we know relatively little about the proximate mechanisms underlying mimicry .展开更多
