[Method] The red pigment of Panax notoginseng fruits was preliminarily identi- fied with specific color reactions and UV-vis spectra, and the contents of the pigment and total saponins were determined via spectrophotometry. [Result] The red hues of the fruits were contributed by anthocyanins and/or the anthocyanidins. The contents of anthocyanins and total saponins of the fruits both decreased along with thinning of the red hues. The content difference of the anthocyanins in fruits with different red hues reached extremely significant level, but that of total saponins just reached significant level. [Conclusion] The red pigment of P. notoginseng fruits is anthocyanins which are of extremely significant positive correlation with total saponins in contents.展开更多

To reveal the relationship between germination and the 3'-5'-cyclic adenosine monophosphate(c AMP) content from the dormant(black or green-black) and non-dormant(yellow)chlamydospore in Ustiloginoidea virens, this study adopts ultrasonic-bath method and high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) method, for extraction c AMP content of the different color chlamydospore. The results demonstrated that, as for the freshly chlamydospores collected from the false smut balls during their germination, c AMP content of yellow chlamydospore appeared a slight growth during 0-12 h, and showed a rapid declining as the germination time extended(12-48 h). Above all, in yellow chlamydospores, the germination rate and the content of c AMP presented a very notably negative correlation(|r|=0.861 9>r0.01=0.834), but the correlation between germination rate and content of c AMP was not obvious in black chlamydospores. The germination rate and the content of c AMP presented a notably positive correlation under different storage period(0, 2, 4, 6, 8,10 months) of the two color chlamydospores(the yellow of chlamydospore: |r | = 0.785 1 > r0.05= 0.707; the black of chlamydospore: |r| = 0.957 9 > r0.05= 0.707).展开更多

Dumbbell-shaped bis(thienyl 3-ethynyl quinoxalines) are also accessible by the Suzuki protocol. The photophysical properties were investigated by UV and fluorescence spectroscopy. Most of the obtained compounds display fluorescence in solution and some of them also in the solid state. Additionally, tuning of the emission color of the quinoxaline based chromophores can be conveniently accomplished by the remote substituent group. The determined absorption and emission maximum as well as the Stokes shifts strongly correlate with Hammett σp+parameters. Besides, photophysical properties of selected derivatives in the solid state, biphasic solutions, and PMMA films, along with their relationships, are comparatively investigated. Moreover, two 5-(hetero)aryl-thien-2-yl substituted 3-ethynyl quinoxaline dyes are aggregation induced emission(AIE) chromophores indicated by restriction of molecular motions. A covalently restricted 3-ethynyl quinoxaline supports that the inhibition of molecular rotation is responsible for the significant enhancement of fluorescence in acetonitrile/water mixtures.展开更多

We also analyze genetic diver-gence in d-loop mtDNA sequences between populations. We then use coalescent-based simulations to demonstrate that the high levels of observed phenotypic divergence are not consistent with levels of genetic divergence expected under neutral drift among populations, implying an important role for selection in driving divergence between these populations .展开更多
