This emerging market, called class C, which is incorporated in part by the low-income segment, presents distinct characteristics and needs and for this precise reason eventually burdens the short-term production of Brazilian companies, which feel the need to opt for the importation of basic commodities, manufactured, and semi-manufactured goods, in order to maintain a market share and return on their investments. Although this fact is actually part of a trend of global economic transformation, here it is due to a number of irregular actions taken by the Brazilian government facing a short-term political need. Stemming from quantitative researches and qualitative data, this paper sought to learn more about the consumers' profile and draw up some recommendations for the organizations, in order to be better prepared to face this new demand. This paper also sought to know the actions already undertaken by a large cosmetics company, parts of whose products aim at class C.展开更多

While researchers have applied different social science perspectives to analyze cross-border higher education and IBCs, they usually emphasize developed countries as exporters and developing countries as importers of higher education. The phenomenon of developing countries as exporters of higher education has seldom been looked at so far in the research. This paper first describes the current development of IBCs, then illustrates what social science perspectives have been used on this topic, followed by how push-pull theory relates to developing countries being exporters of IBCs. The paper aims to combine E.S. Lee's push-pull theory and Gu's push-pull framework to analyze the push and pull factors in their advertisement and marketing claims when higher education institutions (HEIs) from developing countries plan to establish branch campuses in foreign countries. Soochow University in Laos is used as a case study. Furthermore, intermediate barriers and solutions are also identified in this case study. However, this case study has its own uniqueness and only serves heuristic for future research.展开更多

The problem is not the influence of big companies on Italian little enterprises, but it is that these last ones must react to their strategies in order to not lose important market shares. The aim of the present work is to analyse, above all, the outcome of an enquiry into enterprises' export of an important Italian Region: Campania. In the first part a picture of the wine regional sector is introduced, with particular observations on what are the wine varieties, what is the general level of production, which typologies they offer, what are the characteristics of consumption, and what is the specific economic importance of wine exportation to Campania. In the second part, then, the conducted investigation will be illustrated to the purpose to analyze the actual characteristics of the export of the regional firms, the difficulties found on the international markets and the possibilities of development in the next future, but also the role of information and communication technologies (ICT), that is able to greatly contribute to achieving a deeper integration, communication and information flow between the different stakeholders in the supply chain.展开更多

Methods: Over the past 3 years, we have treated a total of 31 patients with dissymmetric bilateral frontal contusion using endoscopy-assisted unilateral cerebral falx incision. ~ ~ther 30 patients treated by routine bilateral approaches within the same period were taken as control. Results: Seventeen cases (54.8%) in the unilateral operation group survived and were in good condition, 8 (25.8%) had moderate disability, 4 (12.9%) had severe disability, 1 (3.2%) was in vegetative state, and 1 (3.2%) died. Compared with the control group, the Glasgow Out- come Scale score was not significantly different in the uni-lateral operation group, but the operation time, blood trans- fusion volume, the length of hospital stay, the incidences of mental disorder and olfactory nerve injury were greatly reduced in the unilateral operation group. Conclusions: Endoscopy-assisted unilateral cerebral falx incision can shorten the operation time, reduce surgical trauma and complications in treatment of patients with dissymmetric bilateral frontal contusion. It can obviously diminish the chance of delayed intracerebral hematoma and subsequently minimize the incidences of subfalcial and centrencephalic herniation.展开更多

It is pathologically characterized by direct shunting of the intracranial artery and vein, which results in cerebral ischemia, intracranial hemorrhage, neural deficit and intracranial murmur. The etiological mechanism of DAVF is not well known, but most researchers think it is associated with congenital abnormal development, especially abnormal development of dural blood vessels at the stage of embryogenesis. Recently, some researchers have found that DAVF is also associated with some acquired factors. This article reports a case who developed DAVF within 2 years after debridement of frontal bone fragmentation, depressed fracture, left frontal lobe contusion and superior sagittal sinus injury due to forehead knife-cut injury. The pathogenic mechanism was explored through a review of the related literatures.展开更多
