The development of wind energy is a systematic project, involving policy, law, technology, economy, society, environment, education and other aspects. The relationship among all the aspects should be well treated and coordinated. This paper has discussed the following relationships which should be well coordinated: relationship between wind resources and wind energy development, relationship between the wind turbine generator system and the components, relationship between wind energy technology and wind energy industry, relationship between off-grid wind power and grid-connected wind power, relationship between wind farm and the power grid, relationship between onshore wind power and offshore wind power, relationship between wind energy and other energies, relationship between technology introduction and self-innovation, relationship among foreign-funded, joint ventured and domestic-funded enterprises and relationship between the government guidance and the market regulation, as well as giving out some suggestions.展开更多
The control strategy is one of the most important renewable technology,and an increasing number of multi-MW wind turbines are being developed with a variable speed-variable pitch(VS-VP)technology.The main objective of...The control strategy is one of the most important renewable technology,and an increasing number of multi-MW wind turbines are being developed with a variable speed-variable pitch(VS-VP)technology.The main objective of adopting a VS-VP technology is to improve the fast response speed and capture maximum energy.But the power generated by wind turbine changes rapidly because of the continuous fluctuation of wind speed and direction.At the same time,wind energy conversion systems are of high order,time delays and strong nonlinear characteristics because of many uncertain factors.Based on analyzing the all dynamic processes of wind turbine,a kind of layered multi-mode optimal control strategy is presented which is that three control strategies:bang-bang,fuzzy and adaptive proportional integral derivative(PID)are adopted according to different stages and expected performance of wind turbine to capture optimum wind power,compensate the nonlinearity and improve the wind turbine performance at low,rated and high wind speed.展开更多

In recent years,China has made significant achievements in optimizing its energy structure and tapping into renewable energy.Wind power,in particular,has been doubled in its development year by year between 2005-2009....In recent years,China has made significant achievements in optimizing its energy structure and tapping into renewable energy.Wind power,in particular,has been doubled in its development year by year between 2005-2009.However,wind power develops too fast,which is not harmonious with the power system,the industry structure and the policy mechanism.Therefore,it is necessary to find the fundamental causes for the issue.Based on the inherent features and practical issues of wind power development in China,the role of wind power in energy development is put forward through probing logically into three perspectives,i.e.energy utilization,energy development and the ultimate objectives of wind power development.The current wind power development should be grounded on the improvement of wind power industrialization system,the smart grid and the research on new energy storage technology so as to lay firm foundations for large-scale development of wind power in the future.展开更多

Therefore it is expedient to look the potential of wind resources and prablems to use it. In this paper the potential resource of four characteristic offshore regions in Estonia are assessed. Two different approaches have been used to assess the dynamic quality of the wind power, both of which lead to the same result. The dynamic quality of the load of the grid is also assessed since any consumer will be affected by the total influence of both these dynamic processes. These processes do limit the usage of wind power due to peculiarities of the Estonian electrical grid.展开更多

However, there exist several technical issues such as power transfer capability, electricity accommodation, frequency control and peak load regulation as well as system stability. In addition, the high capital cost and operation cost of the supporting transmission project invested and constructed by the Gansu Provincial Power Company will definitely have significant impacts on the management and economic profit of the Company. Through analysis of the construction and operation cost changes resulting from the wind power collection and delivery project, the author carried out research into the effects of developing large-scale wind power base on the management and economic benefits of power grid enterprises and proposed corresponding suggestions to make the related policies perfect.展开更多
