METHODS: A total of 1348 totally implantable venous access devices (TIVADs) were implanted into 1280 cancer patients in this cohort study. A Cox proportional hazard model was applied to analyze risk factors for failure of TIVADs. Log-rank test was used to compare actuarial survival rates. Infection, thrombosis, and surgical complication rates (χ2 test or Fisher's exact test) were compared in relation to the risk factors. RESULTS: Increasing age, male gender and openended catheter use were signifi cant risk factors reducing survival of TIVADs as determined by univariate and multivariate analyses. Hematogenous malignancy decreased the survival time of TIVADs; this reduction was not statistically signifi cant by univariate analysis [hazard ratio (HR) = 1.336, 95% CI: 0.966-1.849, P = 0.080)]. However, it became a signifi cant risk factor by multivariate analysis (HR = 1.499, 95% CI: 1.079-2.083, P = 0.016) when correlated with variables of age, sex and catheter type. Close-ended (Groshong) catheters had a lower thrombosis rate than open-ended catheters (2.5% vs 5%, P = 0.015). Hematogenous malignancy had higher infection rates than solid malignancy (10.5% vs 2.5%, P < 0.001). CONCLUSION: Increasing age, male gender, openended catheters and hematogenous malignancy were risk factors for TIVAD failure. Close-ended catheters had lower thrombosis rates and hematogenous malignancy had higher infection rates.展开更多

Physical and chemical parame ,eters, e.g., temperature, moisture content, VSS, CODcr, pH, and germination index (GI), were analyzed to characterize the composting process. Fermentation starts quickly in both forced and air ventilation compost heaps and reaches high-temperature stage after 2 d, owing to the bulking function of matured compost. Compared to air ventilation, however, forced ventilation enables the high-temperature stage to last longer for approximately 7 d. The moisture content of both compost bodies decreases from 62% to about 50% as a result of evaporation, and it decreases slightly faster in forced ventilation compost heap after 13 d due to the higher temperature and better ventilation condition. Although no obvious differences of VSS and pH are observed between both compost heaps, the soluble CODcr and GI show differences during the second half period of fermentation. In forced ventilation compost, the soluble CODcr has a small rebound after 13 d, and GI decreases from 46% to 35% but then increases. These results show that in general, the matured compost is a good conditioner and force ventilation with a proper air supply strategy can be more efficient than air ventilation.展开更多

First of all, geometric nonlinear effect of extreme long cable is much more significant for cable-stayed bridge spanning over one thousand meters. Lateral static wind load will generate additional displacement of long cables, which causes the decrease of supporting rigidity of the whole bridge and the change of dynamic properties. Wind load, being the controlling load in the design of cable-stayed bridge,is a critical problem and needs to be solved. Meanwhile, research on suitable system between pylon and deck indicates fixed-fixed connection system is an effective way for improvement performance of cable-stayed bridges under longitudinal wind load. In order to obtain aerodynamic parameters of cable-stayed bridge spanning over one thousand meters, identification method for flutter derivatives of full bridge aero-elastic model is developed in this paper. A static and dynamic stresses superposition-based(SDSS-based) risk evaluation method of rock burst was proposed to pre-evaluate rock burst risk. Theoretical basis of this method is the stress criterion incurring rock burst and rock burst risk is evaluated according to the closeness degree of the total stress(due to the superposition of static stress in the coal and dynamic stress induced by tremors) with the critical stress. In addition, risk evaluation criterion of rock burst was established by defining the "Satisfaction Degree" of static stress. Furthermore, the method was used to pre-evaluate rock burst risk degree and prejudge endangered area of an insular longwall face in Nanshan Coal Mine in China. Results show that rock burst risk is moderate at advance extent of 97 m, strong at advance extent of 97-131 m,and extremely strong(i.e. inevitable to occur) when advance extent exceeds 131 m(mining is prohibited in this case). It is about a blade discretized by the finite element method (FEM) in order to determine the gyroscopic effect during its rotation at a high speed. A blade must have the maximum output and resist to aerodynamic loads distributed over its length, which are related to its geometrical characteristics and the speed of the wind. For that, the authors wrote the relations whom determine these loads according to the flow speed of the wind, then, the authors integrated them in the laws of structure mechanics to obtain the motion equations of the blade. This process was applied to a twisted blade with a length of 1.9 m, built out of pressed aluminum sheet with a profile of the type NACA; this profile gives the best aerodynamic output. This blade is an element of a three-bladed propeller for wind turbine of maximum power 5 kW. Finally, we visualized its deformations and then the authors checked its holding in service.展开更多

The tower geometry is approximated by fiat elements in which the membrane effects are evaluated using the FF (free formulation) finite element and the flexure effects are calculated using DKT (discrete shear triangle) finite element. The user-friendly system is implemented using OpenGL library to provide the graphical construction for geometry, mesh orientation, and other requirements of the finite element model. For the processing stage is built a specific dll library implemented in C++ language for the analysis using the FF and DKT finite elements. The post-processing stage is build using specific dialogs box to present all results. The displacement results are visualized in the graphic interface to show the static and dynamic deformations of the tower. Some examples are presented to show all the tasks of the parametric tool.展开更多

The lack of experimental verification of performance is not conducive to voltage/var management or full utilization of device capaci- ties. In order to solve the above problems, the compensation device performance test was performed. The test items and procedures were selected based on related national standards with the consideration for different grid structures and wind farm operation modes. The testing contents included dynamic regulating range, active power loss, dynamic response time, and harmonic voltage level. Three types of compensation devices installed in different wind farms, namely SVG, TCR and MCR, were chosen and tested. The performances were compared and analyzed according to the field test results.展开更多

Discharged patients with colitis that were treated surgically did not have signifi cantly different rates of venous or arterial thromboembolism than those with surgery for diverticulitis or colorectal cancer.CONCLUSION: Patients with ulcerative colitis who do not undergo an operation during their hospitalization have similar or higher rates of thromboembolism than other medical patients who are considered to be high risk for thromboembolism.
文摘In this work the authors present a calculation process of the blades for wind turbine with horizontal axis. Finally, we visualized its deformations and then the authors checked its holding in service.
文摘This work deals with a description of a parametric tool for elastic analysis of wind turbine tower, incorporating all analysis steps (preprocessing, processing and post-processing). Some examples are presented to show all the tasks of the parametric tool.
文摘The dynamic reactive power compensation equipment in Jiuquan Wind Power Base of above 10 GW consists of three different types of compensation devices, including: static var generator (SVG), thyristor controlled compensator (TGR) and magnetically controlled reactor (MGR). The performances were compared and analyzed according to the field test results.
