Leaves from tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L. cv. K326) were transformed with these four plant expression plasmids by Agrobacterium-mediated transformation, respectively. Southern and Western blotting analyses showed that these four mutants were integrated into tobacco genomic DNA and could express the corresponding proteins in most of die transgenic plants. The challenge of transgenic plants with potato X potexvirus (PVX) revealed that the expression products of PVY-C HC-Pro mutants in transgenic plants greatly abolished functions of HC-Pro in enhancing the accumulation and pathogenicity of PVX, indicating that CCCT and PTK motifs of HC-Pro were required for PVX/PVY synergism. Meanwhile, the results demonstrated that PVY-C HC-Pro had a function in accelerating the long-distance movement of PVX in these transgenic plants for the first time.展开更多

In this study, data on soft-sediment macrobenthos occurring in depths from 25 m to 81 m in the South Yellow Sea were used to compare changes in community structure. The agglomerative classification (CLUSTER) and multidimensional scaling (MDS) methods were applied. Five communities were recognized by cluster analysis: 1. The Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass community dominated by cold water species, which changed slightly in species composition since the 1950s; 2. The mixed community with the coexistence of cold water species and warm water species, as had been reported previously; 3. The polychaete-dominated eurythermal community in which the composition changed considerably as some dominant species disappeared or decreased; 4. The Changjiang (Yangtze) River Estuarine community, with some typical estuarine species; 5. The community affected by the Yellow Sea Warm Current. The greatest change occurred in the coastal area, which indicated that the change may be caused by human activities. Macrobenthos in the central region remained almost unchanged, particularly the cold water species shielded by the Yellow Sea Cold Water Mass. The depth, temperature and median grain size of sediments were important factors affecting the distributions of macrobenthos in the South Yellow Sea.展开更多

This study answers two questions: (1) What is the ecological niche of the different epiphytic orchid species? (2) What are the ecological factors that threaten epiphytic orchid's population under anthropogenic disturbances? Our study area was the Kathmandu valley, Nepal, with its subtropical forest. We established 156 systematically selected sampling points in the Kathmandu area covering different types of ecosystems under human impacts such as densely populated area, agricultural land, mixed agricultural and settled area, old tree patches, and a natural forest in a national park. The ecological niche of the orchid species was analyzed with a principal component analysis (PCA). The correlations between the different site factors were statistically significant. Spearman's rank correlation matrices showed that the variables land-use intensities with altitude, and height with diameter in breast height (dbh) of host had the highest significant positive correlation coefficient (0.67 and 0.64 respectively). On the other hand, host bark pH and altitude as well as land use had a significantly strong negative correlation coefficient (-0.80 and -0.61, respectively). Different epiphytic orchid species interact differently with the given set of environmental factors: for occurrence of Vanda cristata there is no single environmental factor of special influence, while for Rhynehostylis retusa high bark pH and high light availability are important. First two axis of the PCA explained more than 50% of the total variance. Most orchid species occupy a specific, narrow niche in this ecological space. The main causes of anthropogenie influence of orchid population in the Kathmandu Valley are loss of adequate host trees (species and size) and increasing air pollution, resulting in increasing host bark pH.展开更多

As such it is relatively inaccessible and little is known about its meteorology. In 2005, an automatic weather station was operated at North Col (28°1′ 0.95" N, 86°57′ 48.4" E, 6523 m a.s.l.) of Mt. Everest. Based on the observational data, this paper compares the reanalysis data from NCEP/NCAR (hereafter NCEP-Ⅰ) and NCEP-DOE AMIP-Ⅱ (NCEP- Ⅱ), in order to understand which reanalysis data are more suitable for the high Himalayas with Mr. Everest region. When comparing with those from the other levels, pressure interpolated from 500 hPa level is closer to the observation and can capture more synoptic-scale variability, which may be due to the very complex topography around Mt. Everest and the intricately complicated orographic land-atmosphereocean interactions. The interpolation from both NCEP-Ⅰ and NCEP-Ⅱ daily minimum temperature and daily mean pressure can capture most synopticscale variability (r〉0.82, n=83, p〈0.001). However, there is difference between NCEP-Ⅰ and NCEP-Ⅱ reanalysis data because of different model parameterization. Comparing with the observation, the magnitude of variability was underestimated by 34.1%, 28.5 % and 27.1% for NCEP-Ⅰ temperature and pressure, and NCEP-Ⅱ pressure, respectively, while overestimated by 44.5 % for NCEP-Ⅱ temperature. For weather events interpolated from the reanalyzed data, NCEP-Ⅰ and NCEP-Ⅱ show the same features that weather events interpolated from pressure appear at the same day as those from the observation, and some events occur one day ahead, while most weather events and NCEP-Ⅱ temperature interpolated from NCEP-Ⅰ happen one day ahead of those from the observation, which is much important for the study on meteorology and climate changes in the region, and is very valuable from the view of improving the safety of climbers who attempt to climb Mt. Everest.展开更多

Methods Sixty-three patients (32 women and 31 men) with diagnosed MTLE underwent diagnostic MR imaging (MRI) and proton MRS using a 3.0T MR scanner. The clinical history and interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs) were recorded. Sixteen healthy volunteers served as control. The results of proton MRS were compared with the findings of electroencephalogram and structural MRI findings. Results Twenty-seven of the 63 patients with MTLE showed unilateral hippocampal sclerosis, and 9 showed bilateral hippocampal sclerosis. The concentration ratio of N-acytelaspartate (NAA) / [ creatine ( Cr ) + choline (Cho) ] in the hippocampal region of MTLE patients (0. 64±0. 07) was significantly lower than control (0. 80±0. 05, P = 0.023). In the patients with unilateral hippocampal sclerosis, NAA/(Cr + Cho) in the hippocampal region ipsilateral to the sclerotic hippocampus (0.56±0.06) was significantly lower than the ratio in the contralateral hippocampal region (0.69±0.07, P 〈 0. 001 ). There was significant difference in hippocampal NAA/( Cr + Cho) between the refractory patients and the non-refractory patients (0. 64±0. 05 vs.0.71±0. 07, P =0. 04). Forty-five patients were lateralized by IEDs, while 49 patients were lateralized by metabolite ratio. And lateralization determined by proton MRS and IEDs was concordant in 33 patients. Conclusions MRS as a noninvasive tool adds helpful metabolite information to routine MRI in evaluation of MTLE. The method is well established and should be a routine clinical application in the investigation of epilepsy.展开更多

[Method] The activities of antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), peroxidase (POD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), as well as a non-enzymatic antioxidant malondialdehyde (MDA), in the liver were measured 3, 7, 14 and 21 d post exposure (dpe) to 0.02 (1/100 of acute toxicity), 0.036 (monitored concentration), 0.08 (1/20 of acute toxicity), 0.16 (1/10 of acute toxicity) and 0.32 mg/L (1/5 of acute toxicity) boscalid using a semi-static method. [Result] SOD, CAT, POD, GPx and MDA activity in the liver of zebrafish varied with boscalid concentration and exposure time. Boscalid significantly enhanced MDA content at 21 dpe. A significant upregulation of the activity of SOD, CAT, POD and GPx at 7 dpe was observed, suggesting that boscalid resulted in oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation. [Conclusion] These results show that these biomarkers are all appropriate for monitoring oxidative stress and the lipid peroxidation status of fish after exposure to boscalid. It addresses the national component of identity formations in order to transform them in light of universal human rights principles. In this article, I seek to strengthen this theory left underdeveloped by Habermas. To do so, I use the idea of moral development which Habermas borrowed from Kohlberg. I argue that Constitutional Patriotism is the missing link in Habermas's reading of Kohlberg. I complement Kohlberg's reading of moral consciousness with the psychoanalytic idea of individuation. Communication, language, and autonomy all fall into their places in this interdisciplinary puzzle of Constitutional Patriotism spanning over the cultural terrain. This article takes part of the broader project of Constitutional Patriotism here only focusing on the notion of the selfhood.展开更多

High altitude temperate site show variable(up to 13 fold) increase in their content.Proteins(1.3- 1.8 times), sugars(2.8- 4.1 times) and free amino acid(1.04- 1.22 times) were also higher at Srinagar(1730 m). Within these plants, H.perforatum and M. chamomilla have shown higher accumulation of phenols, xanthophylls and proline even at subtropical environment in Jammu(305 m)suggesting potential for increasing their geographical area. The results demonstrate that changing environmental conditions significantly affect the bioactive constituents, which accumulate as a defence strategy by these temperate plants. Their medicinal significance during climate change scenario has also been discussed.展开更多

The CWS application performance investigation shows that the MAD dispersant has better abilities in reducing CWS viscosity and stabilizing the slurry than a commercial dispersant—sulfonated naphthalene-formaldehyde condensate(SNF). The physicochemical property investigation of the two tested dispersants shows that the adsorption amount of the MAD at coal-water interface is much larger than that of SNF, and the MAD has better wetting property than the SNF on the coal surface. It indicated that the excellent capabilities of MAD are related to the adsorption mode of standing upright on the coal surface. Based on the above, the mechanism of dispersion and stabilization of the CWS prepared from MAD dispersant is presented.展开更多

In the literatures, it was synthesized by the use of 4-(trifluoromethyl) aniline or 4-(trifluoromethyl) benzonitrile as starting materials and 5-methoxy-4'-(trifluoromethyl-phenyl) valerophenone as a key intermediate. However, the methods in literatures have some disadvantages, such as the use of expensive materials, heavy pollution of environment, long reaction time and low yield of the product (only 30-40% overall yield). We herein report an environmentally friendly synthetic method of fluvoxamine maleate, which used 4-(trifluoromethyl) benzoic acid and tetrahydrofuran as starting materials and FeCI3 as catalyst for the coupling of acid chloride with Grignard reagent. The fluvoxamine maleate was synthesized in 46% overall yield, through the oximation, etheration and salification of the intermediate successively. This method has some advantages, such as the use of commercially available materials, low cost, short production period (12-14 h), high yield and light pollution.展开更多

Then they were the first large refugee group in Finland. They have got integration problems with Finnish society and from that perspective the author started to doubt that whether migrants adopted the same kinds of relationship with the local places and which kind of influence it would have on their integration. The author's aim for this study has been to explore their sense of belonging from transnational family and geographical perspectives. Relph argued that placelessness could be created either by individual itself or urban planning. With the content analyses the author analyzed 50 questions from seven respondents. The questionnaire includes the part of transnational contact keeping among kin members of transnational family, migration and respondents' sense toward urban surrounding where they lives. Emotional ties play a maior role in Finnish Somalis' diasporic life. Emotions intertwine around their life as members of transnational family and toward sense of place. Transnational family affects their perspectives toward western society and urban places. Placelessness is the first step toward integration and positive sense of place. With the integration placelessness turns to placeness.展开更多

文摘Constitutional Patriotism is a new form of identity. This article takes part of the broader project of Constitutional Patriotism here only focusing on the notion of the selfhood.
文摘The essential oil composition leaves of Juniperus communis L., Taxus canadensis Marshall. and Tsuga canadensis (L.) Carr. from Canada were investigated by head space solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Thirty-three, thirty and thirty-one components were identified representing 95.78%, 93.89%, 96.14% of the oil, respectively. Limonene (26.12%), benzene (15.62%), 13-mrycene (9.08%) and β-pinene (7.30%) were found to be the main constituents of J. communis; 1-propanone (36.38%), morpholine (10.95%), methylamine (9.10%) and methanone (8.14%) were detected main components of Taxus canadensis; bornylacetate (26.84%), α-pinene (23.74%), camphene (11.93%) and limonene (6.02%) were determined as major constituents of Tsuga canadensis. The chemical distributions of the essential oil compounds in the genus pattern were discussed in means of chemotaxonomy and natural products.

文摘To understand the effect of climate change on constitutive antioxidant and biochemical metabolites in Western Himalayas, five medicinal herbs were selected and grown at two altitudes in Jammu(305 m) and Srinagar(1730 m) with subtropical and temperate climates, respectively.Significant variations were observed in phenols and flavonoids in Hypericum perforatum L., Matricaria chamomilla L., Thymus vulgaris L., Cynara cardunculus L. and Echinacea purpurea L. growing at two locations. Their medicinal significance during climate change scenario has also been discussed.
文摘Turkey, thanks to its natural and cultural tourism resources, is an international tourism destination characterized by intense mobility. The purpose of this study, to determine the contribution of the tourism sector in the country's economy and Russian tourist profile, was examined and investigated. Survey data collection techniques were used in the study. National and international researches were supported by literature. In this study, it was aimed to determine the role and the importance of Marmaris in the development of tourism in economy. It was also aimed to determine the cause of Russian tourists preferring Marmaris. The 12 questions in the questionnaire are to determine the demographic and travel characteristics, four questions are to determine the resources of accommodation and information of Russian tourists, and the questionnaire was completed with a question which was asked to determine the reason of preferring Marmaris, It was graded with the five-point Likert scale. The results of the study show the profile of Russian tourists who prefer Marmaris. It was examined that they have come up with all-inclusive system, they have two-week holiday term, they gather information through travel agencies, and Marmaris has an intensive revisit frequency. Marmaris is expressed as a great holiday destination by Russian tourists. Accordingly, Marmaris is popular among Russian tourists as a tourist destination and is considered to be quite suitable for the holidays.

文摘A rosin derivative and maleopimaric acid diethanolamide(MAD), was synthesized, characterized by FTIR and1 H NMR, and applied as dispersant for the coal-water slurry(CWS) prepared from Chinese Shenfu coal. Based on the above, the mechanism of dispersion and stabilization of the CWS prepared from MAD dispersant is presented.
文摘Fluvoxamine maleate is an excellent antidepressive drug. This method has some advantages, such as the use of commercially available materials, low cost, short production period (12-14 h), high yield and light pollution.
文摘About 1.S million Somalis live in the diaspora and first Somali asylum seekers came to Finland in 1990. With the integration placelessness turns to placeness.
