Assuming that space vacuum is an in...This paper describes the propulsion principle using the concept of space drive and the pressure of the field induced by local rapid expansion of space based on the latest cosmology. Assuming that space vacuum is an infinite continuum, the propulsion principle utilizes the pressure field derived from the geometrical structure of space, by applying both continuum mechanics and general relativity to space. The propulsive force is a pressure thrust that arises from the interaction of space-time around the spaceship external environment and the spaceship itself; the spaceship is propelled by the pressure used against the space-time structure. As is well known in cosmology, the expansion rule of the universe is governed by the Friedman's equations and the Robertson-Walker metric. In this time, the propulsion principle of space drive is introduced from another angle (cosmology), that is, the pressure of the field induced by local expansion of space is completely considered in the propulsion principle.展开更多
Motivating is the most creative phase of the Production-Oriented Approach(POA),making it different from other teaching approaches from the outset.This study aims to introduce the theory of motivating and its applicati...Motivating is the most creative phase of the Production-Oriented Approach(POA),making it different from other teaching approaches from the outset.This study aims to introduce the theory of motivating and its application to College English teaching practice by adopting dialectal research(DR).First,it gives an overall introduction to motivating,including its function,steps,and categories.Then it demonstrates two rounds of motivating practice in teaching College English by using the POA-based textbook iEnglish.The first round of motivating practice mainly focuses on how to follow the three steps of motivating in a specific case,namely,the teacher providing scenarios,the students trying out the productive activity,and the teacher explaining the productive objectives.The second round attempts to apply the criteria of motivating effectiveness to practice,namely,authentic communication,cognitive challenges and appropriate productive objectives.Furthermore,the teaching effectiveness of the motivating practice is appraised by both the teacher’s and students’retrospective evaluations.Finally,some suggestions for motivating design and future research are proposed.展开更多

To synchronize the outputs,a leader is introduced whose co...This paper studies the output synchronization problem for a class of networked non-linear multi-agent systems with switching topology and time-varying delays. To synchronize the outputs,a leader is introduced whose connectivity to the followers varies with time, and a novel data-driven consensus protocol based on model free adaptive control is proposed, where the reference input of each follower is designed to be the time-varying average of the neighboring agents' outputs. Both the case when the leader is with a prescribed reference input and the case otherwise are considered.The proposed protocol allows for time-varying delays, switching topology, and does not use the agent structure or the dynamics information implicitly or explicitly. Sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the closed-loop stability, and conditions for consensus convergence are obtained, where only a joint spanning tree is required. Numerical simulations and practical experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed protocol.展开更多
