Chemical analysis of pheromone gland extracts of 3-day-old females showed that individual isolated glands contained only very small amounts of pheromone. The high-resolution gas chromatography combined with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis showed the presence of Cis-7-dodecenyl acetate (Z7-12:Ac, A), Cis-9-tetradecenyl acetate (Z9-14:Ac, B), Cis- 11-hexadecenyl acetate (Z 11 - 16 :Ac, C), Cis-8-dodecenyl acetate (Z8-12:Ac, E) and Cis-5-decenyl acetate (Z5-10:Ac, D) in biologically active pheromone gland extracts. An extract of one gland from a day 3 female gave the following values for the gland components: 0.245±0.098ng for Z7-12:Ac, 0.080±0.031ng for Z9-14:Ac, 0.089±0.033ng for Z11-16:Ac, 0.085±0.031ng for Z5-10:Ac, 0.105±0.065ng for Z8-12:Ac per female. The percentages of Z7-12:Ac, Z9-14:Ac, Z11-16:Ac, Z5-10:Ac and ZS-12:Ac in pheromone gland extracts from individual females were (meaniSE) 40.451±13.66, 13.176±5.279, 14.943±5.142, 14.392±6.10 and 17.225±9.792 respectively, and the percentages of Z7-12:Ac, Z9-14:Ac and Z11-16:Ac were 58.75±9.429, 18.91±7.539 and 22.34±7.209. Field trials indicated that each single component of sex pheromone was non-effective and captured no males. The lures baited with duality compound of AB (3 : 1) had a certain attraction to males, the mean captured number was 2.6. The attraction ability of the lures baited with ternary compound of ABC (3 : 1 :1) to males added significantly, the mean captured number per trap was 7.40, which was 2.8 times of duality compound of AB (3 : 1). The contents of sex pheromone could obviously affect its capture ability to males, the mean captured number was the highest at the dosage of 200 μg.展开更多

Single factor experiments were conducted to examine the effects of extracting time, temperature, the solid-liquid ratio and pH value on the extraction yield of polysaccharide from pumpkin. [Method] The best enzyme ratio and extraction conditions for complex enzymes extraction were determined through orthogonal tests. Scavenging ·OH and O-2 activities of pumpkin polysaccharides were also investigated by salicylic acid and improved self-oxidation of o-pheno methods respectively. [Results] The results showed that the biggest extraction yield of polysaccharide from pumpkin can be got when adding 1% cellulose enzyme,1.5% pectinase,1.0% papain and Na2HPO4-citric acid buffer solution (pH was 4.6),and oscillating for 30 min under water at 40 ℃ with the solid-liquid ratio of 1:30. In addition, pumpkin polysaccharides had a strong activity of eliminating ·OH,but very weak activity to scavenge O-2. [Conclusion] This study provided basic data for research and application of Pumpkin polysaccharide.展开更多

METHODS: Wistar rats were treated with a high fat emulsion by ig for 10 d. Changes of the diets, drinking and body weight were monitored every day and insulin resistance was evaluated by hyperinsulinemic-euglycemicclamp techniques and short insulin tolerance test using capillary blood glucose. Morphologic changes of liver, fat, skeletal muscles, and pancreatic islets were assessed under light microscope. mRNA expressions of GLUT2 and α-glucosidase in small intestine epithelium, GLUT4 in skeletal muscles and Kir6.2 in beta cell of islets were determined by in situ hybridization.RESULTS: KITT was smaller in treated animals (4.5±0.9)than in untreated control Wistar rats (6.8±1.5), and so was glucose injection rate. Both adipocyte hypertrophy and large pancreatic islets were seen in high fat fed rats, but no changes of skeletal muscles and livers wereobserved. mRNA levels of GLUT2, α-glucosidase in small intestinal epithelium and Kir6.2 mRNA in beta cells of islets increased, whereas that of GLUT4 in skeletal muscles decreased in high fat fed group compared with normal control group.CONCLUSION: An insulin resistance animal model in Wistar rats is established by ig special fat emulsion.展开更多

Oral administration of AA (10, 50 or 100 mg/kg) was performed 0.5 h after C48/80treatment. Determinations for gastric mucosal lesion severity and blood flow, and assays for gastric mucosal total AA, reduced AA, oxidized AA, vitamin E, thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), adherent mucus, nitrite/nitrate (NOx), non-protein SH (NPSH), and myeloperoxidase(MPO), and serum total AA, reduced AA, oxidized AA,and NOx were conducted 0.5 and 3 h after C48/80treatment.RESULTS: Gastric mucosal lesions occurred 0.5 h after C48/80 treatment and progressed at 3 h. Gastric mucosal blood flow decreased 0.5 h after C48/80 treatment but the decrease was recovered at 3 h. Gastric mucosal total AA, reduced AA, vitamin E, and adherent mucus concentrations decreased 3 h after C48/80 treatment.Gastric mucosal oxidized AA concentration remained unchanged after C48/80 treatment. Gastric mucosal NPSH concentration decreased 0.5 h after C48/80 treatment, but the decrease was recovered at 3 h. Gastric mucosal TBARS concentration and MPO activity increased 0.5 h after C48/80 treatment and further increased at 3 h.Serum total AA and reduced AA concentrations increased 0.5 h after C48/80 treatment and further increased at 3 h, while serum oxidized AA concentration increased at 0.5 h. Serum and gastric mucosal NOx concentrations increased 3 h after C48/80 treatment. AA administration to C48/80-treated rats at 0.5 h after the treatment prevented the gastric mucosal lesion progression and the changes in gastric mucosal total AA, reduced AA, vitamin E, adherent mucus, NOx, and TBARS concentrations and MPO activity and serum NOx concentration found at 3 h after the treatment dose-dependently. The AA administration to C48/80-treated rats caused further increases in serum total AA and reduced AA concentrations at 3 h after the treatment dose-dependently.CONCLUSION: Gastric mucosal AA plays a critical role in the progression of C48/80-induced acute gastric mucosal lesions in rats.展开更多

METHODS: This prospective study was conducted be- tween April 2010 and August 2011. Patients with vari- ous biliary disorders were included. Bile was aspirated by placing a single-use, 5F, standard sphincterotome catheter into the bile duct before the injection of con- trast agent during endoscopic retrograde cholangio- pancreaticography (ERCP). Bile specimens were trans- ported to the microbiology laboratory in blood culture bottles within an anaerobic transport system. Bacteria were cultured and identified according to the standard protocol used in our clinical microbiology laboratory. The susceptibilities of the organisms recovered were identified using antimicrobial disks, chosen according tothe initial gram stain of the positive cultures RESULTS: Ninety-one patients (27% male, mean age 53.7 4- 17.5 years, range: 17-86 years) were included in the study. The main indication for ERCP was benign biliary disease in 79 patients and malignant disease in 12 patients. The bile culture was positive for bacterial growth in 46 out of 91 (50.5%) patients. The most frequently encountered organisms were Gram-negative bacteria including Escherich/a coli (28.2%), Pseudo- monas (17.3%) and Stenotrophomonas rnaltophilia (15.2%). There were no significant differences between patients with malignant and benign disease (58% vs 49%, P = 0.474), patients with acute cholangitis and without acute cholangitis (52.9% vs 50%, P = 0.827), patients who were empirically administered antibiotics before intervention and not administered (51.4% vs 60.7%, P = 0.384), with regard to the bacteriobilia. We observed a large covering spectrum or low resistance to meropenem, amikacin and imipenem. CONCLUSION: We did not find a significant risk fac- tor for bacteriobilia in patients with biliary obstruction. A bile sample for microbiological analysis may become a valuable diagnostic tool as it leads to more accurate selection of antibiotics for the treatment of cholangitis.展开更多

However, little is known about whether the functions of the hip abductor and rear-foot increase dynamic knee valgus. A two-dimensional(2D) video-based screening test focused on hip abductor and rear-foot functions among factors involved in dynamic knee valgus. The present study determined associations between hip and rear-foot dynamic alignment and dynamic knee valgus. Methods: This cross-sectional study recruited 130 female basketball players(258 legs) from nine high-school teams. The players performed single-leg squats and single-leg drop landings to provide knee-in(KID) and hip-out(HOD) distances on 2D video images. Hip and rear-foot dynamic alignment was evaluated using a dynamic Trendelenburg test(DTT) and a dynamic heel-floor test(HFT).Results: The Chi-square test revealed no significant difference in the prevalence of DTT-positivity between single-leg squats(28.7%) and singleleg drop landings(23.3%). The prevalence of HFT-positivity was significantly greater during landings(51.4%) than during single-leg squats(31.0%, p 〈 0.01). The KID values for both single-leg squats and single-leg drop landings were greater in the DTT-positive than in the DTTnegative group(15.1 5.4 cm and 20.2 7.5 cm, p 〈 0.001). The HOD values were similarly greater in the DTT-positive group(15.2 1.9 cm and 17.6 2.8 cm, p 〈 0.001). The KID values for both single-leg squats and single-leg drop landings were greater in the HFT-positive than in the HFT-negative group(12.2 5.1 cm, p 〈 0.01; 14.7 7.2 cm, p 〈 0.001), whereas HOD values for these tasks did not significantly differ between the two groups. Conclusion: Dynamic hip mal-alignment might be associated with both greater KID and HOD, whereas rear-foot eversion is associated only with greater KID. Hip abductor and rear-foot dysfunction are important factors for dynamic knee valgus and thus evaluating DTT and HFT will help to prevent dynamic knee valgus.展开更多

None had a history of peptic ulcer disease or had taken antibiotics, bismuth compounds and/or PPI in the previous month, 14C-UBT was repeated at the end of the second month and the end of treatment period and one month after completion of treatment course.RESULTS: Thirty-five patients (23 males) were enrolled.14C-UBT was negative in all 35 patients (100%) at the end of the second month and remained negative in 30cases (85.7%) at the end of the treatment course. One month after completion of treatment course, UBT remained negative in 13 patients (37.1%).CONCLUSION: Our report underscores the need for caution while interpreting urea breath test results in patients undergoing anti-TB therapy. Furthermore, the combination of drugs used in this study resulted in H pylori eradication in a minority of patients.展开更多

METHODS: Weaning male Wistar rats were divided randomly into normal control group, experiment control group, low selenium (2 mg/L) group and high selenium (4 mg/L) group. Wistar rat gastric carcinogenesis was induced by N-methyl-N-nitro-N-nitroso guanidine (MNNG) (20 mg/kg) gavage dally for 10 d. Na2SeO3 was given by piped drinking 1 wk prior to MNNG gavage. The rats were killed at the 43^rd wk. The surface characteristics of gastric mucosa were observed with naked eyes. Histopathologic changes of rat gastric mucosa were observed by HE staining and AB-PAS methods. The changes of cellular ultrastructure were observed under transmission electron microscope. Statistical analysis was carried out by SPSS. RESULTS: The incidence rate of gastric mucosa erosion, hemorrhage and intestinal metaplasia was 0, 45.5%, 66.7%, and 92.9%, respectively (92.9% vs 45.5%, P〈0.05) in the normal control group, experiment control group, low selenium group, and high selenium group. Leiomyoma formed in the process of inducement of rat gastric carcinoma. Dietary Na2SeO3 (2 and 4 mg/L) slightly increased the incidence rate of leiomyoma (0.23%, 46.6%, and 46.6%). gastric mucosa did not change in the course of rat gastric carcinogenesis. Dietary Na2SeO3 by pipe drinking could expand the intracellular secretory canaliculus of parietal cells and increase the number of endocrine cells and lysosomes. CONCLUSION: Dietary Na2SeO3 by pipe drinking aggravates gastric erosion, hemorrhage and promotes intestinal metaplasia of gastric mucosa. The mechanism may be related with the function of parietal cells.展开更多

Flotation and adsorption tests were first studied as a function of initial solution conditions. The results show that electrostatic repulsion between CMC molecules and chlorite surface hinders the approach of the CMC molecules to the chlorite surface and CMC adsorbs to a great extent at high ionic concentration (10-4 mol/L ions as opposed to 0 mol/L ions) or low pH (3 as opposed to 9). The enhanced adsorption density is attributed to the decreased electrostatic repulsion between CMC and mineral surface. The solution condition that yielded the lowest initial adsorbed amount (0 mol/L ions, pH 9) was used as a reference to investigate the response of the adsorbed CMC layer to a switch in solution conditions after adsorption. The two kinds of solution switches (reducing the solution pH or increasing ionic concentration) result in an increased depression effect of CMC on chlorite flotation, as a result of conformational change of CMC pre-adsorbed layer. The change in the flotation recovery of the CMC-coated chlorite following the solution switches is reversible.展开更多

The contents of sex pheromone could obviously affect its capture ability to males, the mean captured number was the highest at the dosage of 200 μg.

文摘[Objective] This paper aims to study a new method of extracting pumpkin polysaccharide from pumpkin. [Conclusion] This study provided basic data for research and application of Pumpkin polysaccharide.

文摘AIM: To establish a simplified and reliable animal model of insulin resistance with low cost in Wistar rats. Both adipocyte hypertrophy and large pancreatic islets were seen in high fat fed rats, but no changes of skeletal muscles and livers wereobserved. mRNA levels of GLUT2, α-glucosidase in small intestinal epithelium and Kir6.2 mRNA in beta cells of islets increased, whereas that of GLUT4 in skeletal muscles decreased in high fat fed group compared with normal control group.CONCLUSION: An insulin resistance animal model in Wistar rats is established by ig special fat emulsion.

文摘Liver transplantation is considered as the most effective treatment for end-stage liver disease. However, serious complications still exist, particularly in two aspects:ischemia and subsequent reperfusion of the liver, causing postoperative hepatic dysfunction and even failure;and acute and chronic graft rejections, affecting the allograft survival.Heme oxygenase(HO),a stressresponse protein,is believed to exert a protective function on both the development of ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI) and graft rejection. In this review of current researches on allograft protection,we focused on the HO-1.We conjecture that HO-1 may link these two main factors affecting the prognosis of liver transplantations. In this review, the following aspects were emphasized:the basic biological functions of HO-1,itsroles in IRI and allograft rejection,as well as methods to induce HO-1 and the prospects of a therapeutic application of HO-1 in liver transplantation.
文摘AIM: To study the role of gastric mucosal ascorbic acid(AA) in the progression of acute gastric mucosal lesions induced by compound 48/80 (C48/80), a mast cell degranulator, in rats.METHODS: C48/80 (0.75 mg/kg) was intraperitoneally injected to fasted Wistar rats. The AA administration to C48/80-treated rats caused further increases in serum total AA and reduced AA concentrations at 3 h after the treatment dose-dependently.CONCLUSION: Gastric mucosal AA plays a critical role in the progression of C48/80-induced acute gastric mucosal lesions in rats.
文摘AIM: To identify the frequency of bacterial growth, the most commonly grown bacteria and their antibiotic susceptibility, and risk factors for bacterial colonization in bile collected from patients with different biliary dis- eases. A bile sample for microbiological analysis may become a valuable diagnostic tool as it leads to more accurate selection of antibiotics for the treatment of cholangitis.

文摘The mechanical behaviors of the interface between coarse-grained soil and concrete were investigated by simple shear tests under condition of mixed soil slurry (bentonite mixed with cement grout). For comparison, the interfaces both without slurry and with bentonite slurry were analyzed. The experimental results show that different slurries exert much influence on the strength and deformation of soil/structure interface.Under mixed soil slurry, strain softening and shear dilatation are observed, while shear dilatation appears under the small normal stress of the interface without slurry, and shear contraction is significant under the condition of the bentonite slurry. The thickness of the interface was determined by analyzing the disturbed height of the sample with both simple shear test and particle flow code (PFC).An elasto-plastic constitutive model incorporating strain softening and dilatancy for thin layer element of interface was formulated in the framework of generalized potential theory. The relation curves of shear stress and shear strain,as well as the relation curves of normal strain and shear strain, were fitted by a piecewise function composed by hyperbolic functions and resembling normal functions. The entire model parameters can be identified by tests. The new model is verified by comparing the measured data of indoor cut-off wall model tests with the predictions from finite element method (FEM).The FEM results indicate that the stress of wall calculated by using Goodman element is too large, and the maximum deviation between the test data and prediction is about 45%.While the prediction from the proposed model is close to the measured data, and the error is generally less than 10%.
文摘Background: Preventing anterior cruciate ligament(ACL) injuries is very important for athletes, and dynamic knee valgus is considered a risk factor for non-contact ACL injury. Hip abductor and rear-foot dysfunction are important factors for dynamic knee valgus and thus evaluating DTT and HFT will help to prevent dynamic knee valgus.
文摘AIM: Urea breath test (UBT) is a non-invasive diagnostic test for detecting the presence of Helicobacter pylori(H pylori). In this study we evaluated the effect of anti-tuberculosis therapy on the results of 14C-UBT.METHODS: Patients, with the diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) who had a positive UBT at the point of starting antiTB therapy, were included. Furthermore, the combination of drugs used in this study resulted in H pylori eradication in a minority of patients.

文摘AIM: To investigate the effect and significance of selenium in early experimental gastric carcinogenesis. The mechanism may be related with the function of parietal cells.

文摘The effect of solution conditions on the depression of chlorite using CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) as depressant was studied through flotation tests and adsorption measurements. The change in the flotation recovery of the CMC-coated chlorite following the solution switches is reversible.
文摘Antimicrobial management of severe intra-abdominal infections (IAIs) involves a delicate balance of optimizing empirical therapy, which has been shown to improve clinical outcomes, while simultaneously reducing unnecessary antimicrobial use.Two sets of guidelines for the management of intra-abdominal infections were recently published. In 2010,the Surgical Infection Society and the Infectious Diseases Society of America (SIS-IDSA) created guidelines for the diagnosis and management of complicated IAIs.The new SIS-IDSA guidelines replace those previously published in 2002 and 2003.The World Society of Emergency Surgery (WSES) guidelines represent additional contributions, made by specialists worldwide,to the debate regarding proper antimicrobial drug methodology. These guidelines represent the conclusions of the consensus conference held in Bologna,Italy,in July 2010 during the first congress of the WSES.
