First-principles calculations of the crystal structures, phase transition, and elastic properties of EuS have been carried out with the plane-wave pseudopotential density functional theory method. The calculated value... First-principles calculations of the crystal structures, phase transition, and elastic properties of EuS have been carried out with the plane-wave pseudopotential density functional theory method. The calculated values are in very good agreement with experimental data as well as some of the existing model calculations. The dependence of the elastic constants, the aggregate elastic modulus, and the elastic anisotropy on pressure have been investigated. Moreover, the variation of the Poisson's ratio, Debye temperature, and the compressional and shear elastic wave velocities with pressure have been investigated for the first time. Through the quasi-harmonic Debye model, the thermal expansions, heat capacities, Grneisen parameters and Debye temperatures dependence on the temperature and pressure are obtained in the pressure range from 0 GPa to 60 GPa and temperature range from 0 K to 800 K. 展开更多

In this paper, we discuss and analyze theoretically probeabsorption-amplification response in a four-level coherent atomic system with vacuum-inducedcoherence via changing the sign of the parameter f, with f denoting the ratio of a pair of dipolemoments associated with a doublet of closely upper hypernne sublevels. We find that the amplitude ofthe probe amplification for the case f = -1 can be about one order of magnitude larger than thatachievable for the case f = 1. In addition, with respect to the case f = -1 the probe amplificationcan be maintained all the time with weak incoherent pumping for a wide range of the probe detuning. 展开更多

A variational approach is developed to study the groundstate (GS) of the two-site Holstein model. By the extended coherent state, where the more phonon correlations are easily incorporated, we can get the very accurate ground state energy for all electron-phonon coupling range in typical values of hopping integral t = 0.5, 1.1, and 2.1 (in units of phonon frequency omega(0)), which covers the crossover region from antiadiabatic limit to the adiabatic limit. Within a very wide t range [0, 2.7], the exact results for the GS energy are obtained with the twelfth (fourteenth) order corrections to the zeroth order wave function. Moreover, the present approach is more concise than any other analytical ones in this field, and hopefully can be easily generalized to many other Holstein models. 展开更多

Recently,Content-Centric Networking(CCN) has been paid more and more attention.The modeling of CCN as an important research point is the foundation of the architecture.The past work of cache network modeling always assumes the virtual round trip time(VRTT) is zero for simplicity.However,this assumption isn't practical and results in model error especially in CCN.CCN's router can aggregate the content requests during the VRTT to avoid content delivery repeatedly.Thus,to modeling CCN data transfer,as well as understanding how it should be managed,the VRTT shouldn't be ignored.In this paper,we model the data transfer in CCN,and propose a multi-cache with aggregation approximation(MCAA)algorithm to get the content miss rate and VRTT at each router.Simulation results show the validity of our MCAA algorithm. 展开更多

The thermodynamics properties and thermal conductivity of Mg2Pb at high pressures have been calculated by first-principles.The enthalpy of formation and heat capacity obtained at 0 GPa are in good agreement with the experiments and other theoretical results.The thermal conductivity and coefficient of thermal expansion of Mg2 Pb at high pressure were evaluated.The thermal conductivity presents a second-order polynomial with pressure.The calculated thermal conductivity of Mg2Pb indicates that it is suitable to be used as thermal conductor at 0 K. 展开更多
